Hi, I’m Tony, I welcome all you new listeners to our regular and our regulars to the Jeep Talk Show Roundtable. I’m your host and I’m excited to have you here for this special gathering of passionate Jeep enthusiasts. On tonight’s episode, we’re going to be talking about Episode 1000. Yes, the Jeep Talk Show migrates into four digits.

(…)

Sounds a lot like my salary.

(…)

When did you start listening to the Jeep Talk Show? How long did it take you to join our Zoom meeting and the Discord server? Some of you are going, “I don’t know what that is.” Have you been to a Jeep Talk Show listener created event? And I’m not talking about something that we came up with, but just the listeners that get on Discord and say, “Hey, let’s go to Colorado. Hey, let’s go to Arizona.” And then you say, “Well, yeah, I’d like to join in on that.” So you may have been one of those people that did that. And if you don’t know what I’m talking about, this is why you need to join the Discord server so that you can be a part of this stuff if you want to be.(…) Oh, and another thing to think about is what is a memorable moment from past Jeep Talk Show episodes or a single episode? So we normally have questions here that are just general Jeep related questions. And we’d love for you to submit your questions throughout the roundtable. Just go to jeeptalkshow.com to find out how. Are you ready? It’s time for the Jeep Talk Show with hosts Tony, Josh, Wendy and Chuck.

(…)

Alrighty, this is my favorite part of the show. Hello, Zoom people.

(…)

I’ll be back.(…) I’m going to go visit Trails Off Road.

(…)

What are you going to be a Patreon subscriber first? Are you a Patreon subscriber? I think you are.

(…)

I plead to fifth. You sound like Travis.

(…)

Travis will explain to you how he was a supporter years ago. And that’s enough.(…) I caught that episode.

(…)

Alright, man. Episode 1000. Does this mean a damn thing to anybody but me and the Jeep Talk Show team?

(…)

Cricket.

(…)

And the crowd goes mild. Yeah, I love that.

(…)

I think it’s awesome.

(…)

Yeah, I was listening to trying to figure out if you’re going to do anything special for the 1000th episode. Josh is on there with us. This is going to be on the Thursday episode. Josh definitely wanted to be part of the 1000th episode. So I think that what we’re going to have there is a lot of reminiscing and talk about past things that we did and past the host and co-host that we had had on the show. And you know, when Josh and I get talking, it’s a full episode.

(…)

I mean, after recording of it needs to be after meeting roundtable with or fireside camp chat, fireside chat, whatever it is. Where it all began.

(…)

I mean, that’s where it began.

(…)

They’re just in question.

(…)

It is. It is. And you know what the sad thing is tonight. I was like, I’m going to drink a little bit tonight to join this conversation.(…) It’s like the old times, the good old times. He started the celebration earlier.(…) I did. I was like, ah,(…) great. So let me ask you this. Who thinks they are the one person has been listening to the Jeep talk show the longest.

(…)

I’m going to say myself in this group.

(…)

When did you start listening Travis?

(…)

Back in 16.

(…)

16.(…) It was just me doing research for my charity event. I wanted to, I was looking at everything under the sun to market, advertise,(…) and I started listening to the show. Also to learn, you know, I’ve owned a Jeep since 92.

(…)

I wanted to learn more. I wanted to have a more perspective broader to communicate with everyone. I was wanting to involve in my charity event and Google research, you know, found the Jeep talk show. And with that, you know, as you and Josh started opening up and Tammy, y’all truly started to open it up and they were like, hey, call in. Leave a voicemail. Even back then, leave a voicemail will get you on the air. And that’s what I started doing. I just would leave voicemails left and right. You know, I would submit my event for Josh to announce and I just, I became hooked. I’m like, I’m going to listen. I’m going to listen. And it was also just entertaining phone and educational for myself. And I’m still here. Yeah. Years later. We love having people call in or interact with a show. It’s just a lot of fun and you never know what what they’re going to come up with. I mean, look at Nicky G. That’s how Nicky G got started sharing the stuff online with us or sharing stuff with us that we could put online. And it’s just so much fun when people want to get active with the show and interact with us. So really appreciate that. And I hope that we got you a little a few people a few more people out at your events from sharing that information.

(…)

100% did and it just it it helped those events grow. That’s all it is. It just, you know, it’s advertising. Where can you get it out? The more people see the more people know it doesn’t hurt anything to have your name out there or for someone to over hear it. And then it comes up not so much in conversation, but Jeep event, you know, you announced that they’re like, oh, yeah, I heard of this one.

(…)

Just it’s common sense. Just have have have it out in the air for people to hear they may recognize. They may and you never know where they where they may have heard about it. And that’s kind of the trick about advertising. You just got to get the word out there and it’s not it’s not so important about where they heard it as much as it is that they heard it.

(…)

Correct.

(…)

Your podcast does a fan. You’re excuse me. Your show does a fantastic job. It’s not a podcast and we’re not a club.

(…)

It’s a layer from St. Louis. So other thing, it’s, you know, over these thousand almost thousand episode loud.

(…)

That’s all they get together and kind of build this little community to be go off-roading with and do events and everything together with it is very much a community and it really just kind of dawned on me the other day.(…) I’m a little I guess I’m a little funny about being any kind of taking any credit for being a creator or anything. I mean, certainly put in a lot of time and effort into doing this. But somebody pointed out the other day that there’s there’s people that have met each other and have gone off-roading on a self-created events, not Jeep talk show events. But this hey, I’m on discord and I’m thinking about going to Colorado and pretty soon five other listeners are going to Colorado for the event. Larry, you were on that that Colorado trip. So and it was a it was a way for you guys to get to know one another because it’s got to be a little a little concerning about who you’re going off-road with and maybe camping with because you don’t know who they are. I mean, I mean, I’m sure I think we are all a little concerned about Roger, but he’s okay.

(…)

He’s going to put him in the zone area.

(…)

And of course, it’s like a family we pick on each other. Why the clip just these things? It’s your own.

(…)

So I thought that was really cool. I’m very proud of all this stuff that has come together because of the Jeep talk show. And I like to think that the show itself is this kind of like maybe the entertainment part of it. But the most important part is you guys being able to communicate with one another and go and do things together because of the show.(…) It’s a gathering point. The show itself is a gathering point for you guys to get on like on the zoom meeting. And we have other zoom meetings besides just this one on Tuesdays for our Wednesday roundtable episode. So we actually we’ve had one for years on Thursdays that is the unofficial zoom meeting that you guys get on and have a good time with.

(…)

It’s awesome.

(…)

Chip, how long have campfire side chat go ahead.

(…)

Yeah, that’s how I got started. Yeah, Thursday nights.

(…)

So Chip, how long have you been listening?

(…)

Let’s see four years.

(…)

About four years ago, I had one of my good friends Jerry who is also a trail guide with the GM bari said, hey, I got a podcast. You need to listen to and I’m like a podcast. How do you sign up for a podcast? I’ve never listened to one before and so so I was like, well, let’s figure this out and I listened and and I’m like, this is pretty cool. So I was just listening while I was mowing yard or doing whatever and I went back and listed episode one. For a while for a while and then I was like, thank God, they’ve gotten better and any advice. So I went back and listen to several past episodes back then four years ago and and then started calling in on the fireside chats like Travis was saying on Thursdays. It’s a lot of fun and it just went from there and I’ll mention to the chip is actually filled in. One of the things that we’ve done fairly recently is for our second flagship episode, second weekly flagship episode. I’ve been doing it with guest hosts and chip has done it several times. And this is much like doing it with with Josh because chip and I talk so much. We have so much fun just talking about stuff that those episodes usually run run long and it’s it’s so much fun for me because I don’t have to be the one talking all the time. It’s just like like I said, this is like work of a Josh Josh can can fill the entire show by himself.

(…)

I don’t know. I do the whole show, but yeah, we get off that’s fine. Yeah, that’s kind of fun. And also to chip is a Jeep talk show team member.(…) So Larry is actually come on board as a regular co-host for the the Tuesday flagship episode along with Wendy and Bill is another guest host that I go to for our second flagship episode. So it’s I like this because we’re getting we’re changing it up a little bit. It’s different voices, which means different ideas, different thoughts. And I think it makes it very interesting or more interesting for the for the end user the listener.

(…)

Hopefully does.

(…)

So I will say that the Jeep Taco is literally the first podcast show whatever you want to call it that I’ve ever listened to and I and it’s the only one that I still listen to like there’s the other one since I’ve started listening to the deep talk show that I’ve listened to maybe one episode but they’ve never caught on whereas for some reason I guess Roger I will call you a big supporter of the show and I want to thank you all all kidding aside. I really appreciate all the support you give here. You’re here every week. You you went to EJS with us last year and yeah, I mean, I think you visited with Chris and his gladiator recently whenever you were in his neck of the woods. Oh, you were dropping off the your Jeep for the the Supercharger weren’t you?

(…)

Yeah.

(…)

Yes, I was and Chris was a pretty cool guy. We went on had lunch together. He’s a pretty nice guy man. He’s tall, isn’t he?

(…)

Yes, he is.

(…)

Were you able to get a word in edgewise because Chris is in sales and he’s a talker. He’s another he’s another person that has been a guest co-host for the show and he does really well as well.

(…)

Yeah, yeah. No, he let me talk and matter of fact, he even I don’t know. Remember way back when when you guys are talking about Ikea and the fact that I’d never been doing Ikea and didn’t know what the heck it was. So I have mentioned that to him and he decided we were going to stop it Ikea and well, let’s just say that was not.(…) Wait the truth. The two of you went into an Ikea. Were you holding hands or anything? Oh, you don’t want to bring that up. I was just walking in circles.

(…)

I was walking in circles looking for the exit and lo and behold towards the end. Someone told me that we’re shortcuts.

(…)

Yeah, I asked Chris. I asked Chris if he.

(…)

Time out time out. I’ve been to Ikea a ton of times. There are shortcuts to that damn story.

(…)

Tell me about it. Yes, it was very hitable. How?

(…)

I just want to know how anybody remembers what they want to get once they get in there. But yeah, that was wonderful. I love the Swedish people. I asked Chris about the meatballs. I asked him. I said, did you turn Roger on the meatballs? He goes, no, we weren’t over. You know, it weren’t around those. So I was looking for the exit. I didn’t care about me. But you have some you would you might change your mind.

(…)

Are they really that they’re pretty good. I mean for a furniture store, you don’t even taste the wood pulp in them. So it’s not that bad. It’s amazing for a furniture store, but you do have to put them together yourself. I mean you.

(…)

You’re starting an island. And if you were starting an island and starving, you would probably know they’re good. You don’t know. You didn’t have any. Do you mean they got a food? In case you lost in the store.

(…)

If you don’t know the shortcuts, you need a food source. I never knew that they were shortcuts like this is something.

(…)

I might have to put about this on Facebook to see how many people know. So isn’t isn’t there something on the floor? They have arrows or something on the floor. I can’t remember. I’ve been in there once about 15 years ago. Yeah, I think they got arrows and signs all over. But it’s designed to trap you. That’s how they get you.(…) They can’t even start in there.

(…)

I’m literally posting this right now.

(…)

See they they hide the shortcut by by using those swing doors that usually look like they go into a back room. So that way you’re less likely to go through them.

(…)

I didn’t mean to make it into the conversation goes here. We just have fun.(…) The questions and the direction is really just so everybody doesn’t sit there and stare at each other. So you guys are doing fine.

(…)

So yeah, Tony.

(…)

And what what did what seems like y’all did something for the 500th show. What did you remember?

(…)

200 I remember I actually did some went back got some clips and we did quite a bit of stuff about that on the 200th episode. What was that thing that Tammy said she didn’t get it? Oh is the henway joke?

(…)

The hit to 200 episode that was so funny and I wasn’t even trying to get her with it. And so if you guys don’t know the henway joke is you when you’re talking technical or talking about something technical and it’s not exclusively that but you can say yeah. Did you did you check the henway and then you wait for them to say what’s a henway and you say all three or four pounds which I think is a heavy as a heavy hand. That’s what I always say and and Tammy fell for that on during one of the recordings. So we had that we played that for the 200th episode.

(…)

I would have been fine with Josh making fun of Josh. It didn’t have to be the female on the show.

(…)

Is that like a diesel fitters?

(…)

Yeah,(…) I still have my favorite. This is Rick from Arkansas. I still have my favorite Nicky Jeep segment and that’s the one where he was saying ducking Jeep, but I kept leaping it out.

(…)

I forgot about that.

(…)

Oh man, I was driving. I was I was in tears.

(…)

So Nicky G was on here watching on YouTube earlier. I don’t know if he’s still watching or not, but so you guys can can say anything you want to about Nicky G right now and he can’t respond.

(…)

So his boss doesn’t want to go log on and actually be on the show now. His boss was on the show was at last week. He was actually sitting there with his boss. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It doesn’t want to double-dip it.(…) Getting paid from Jeep, Dr. and working at the same time.

(…)

You know, so Tony you had mentioned the the getting together like the Colorado trip and I know the other Arizona trip. There’s meeting at Moab and those things, but some of us got together at the Badlands and then going to Easter Easter.

(…)

Or Smoky Mountain Jeep Invasion, Toledo Jeep Fest. I mean, that’s all the Jeep the Jeep Jeep talk show Club. I will hunt you down and beat you.

(…)

Not in the way you want me to.

(…)

I’m letting you know that.

(…)

The reality of it is Tony, it is a club. I mean, you say it’s not blah blah blah blah. We’ve got a Facebook page. We’ve got a website.(…) It is more or less a club and give or take it. It’s not a bad thing.(…) You know, I’ve met Chris out of the Jeep invasion. I’ve wheeled with Nicky G. I’ve done different things.(…) I want to get out there to EGS actually talk to a previous boss who’s trailering his Jeep out and I’m like, “Ah, you got extra room. I want to go out there to surprise you guys.” You know, it is a club bringing people together and regardless or not, you know, we’re a good group of guys and girls. Thank you ladies for joining us tonight. You know, we hang out. We Jeep. We will. We enjoy the same camaraderie and having fun.

(…)

You know, don’t beat it up because yeah, it’s a club. I nominate Travis as the secretary.

(…)

Anybody second? Well, not he will never be a treasurer though. I don’t know. I almost said Nicky G’s name three times. He showed up.

(…)

Beetlejuice.

(…)

Got you, Dan.

(…)

Stop yelling at us. It’s got a boss.

(…)

That’s a cute, but the glitter you’ll never be able to transfer all.

(…)

I got I got to go back to work. Thank you. Don’t forget.(…) I’m on time, but they’ll never stick. Does that mean he’s getting paid to be on the Jeep talk show? That’s why I like going to the bathroom. Take a dump while I’m at work because I get paid for it.

(…)

This is why it costs so much supply. Well, I was going to sleep and Nicky G can’t. So he needs to go check. So this this isn’t required, but I think it’s kind of cool. Reminiscing like Josh and I are planning on doing on the 1000th episode. There’s a Rick mentioned something that he found really funny on the show. Are there does anybody else have any memorable moments and don’t leave me hanging. If you have to make something up. Yes.

(…)

Yes. I even went back and looked it up. So episode 586, that was the April Fool’s. Oh, yeah. Oh, that’s right. I had no idea. That’s right. That was a great job.(…) Yeah.(…) Yeah, we basically, you know, so we have the segment on the show and it was like, I don’t know, maybe like 10 minutes or something before it became a full episode. But this was going to be the very last, you know, segment on the as part of the normal show. And so Josh would easily put a question out there and go around the room, you know, the Zoom room and ask people, you know, kind of their answer to that particular question. And so ahead of time, we all just decided whatever question he asked, we’re just going to answer with some answer that’s totally unrelated to his question. And it was just just how it played out. It was really it was really fun. Right. And that was kind of that last fireside chat segment there before we move the other episode. But that one really stood out to me. I go back and I sometimes listen to that. Well, that was going to be my next question because I think I put that in the newsletter. Is there any episode or a part of an episode that you go back and listen to? So Bill has gone back and listened to that one, which I just amazes me that you guys listen once, much less multiple times.

(…)

What about the night that we got stuck on the podcast? Oh, that was funny. That was was that with Dan Greck that we were talking about that?

(…)

No, I think they were talking about going to Easter Jeep Safari and having a toilet available. So it would have been last year, probably in February or something. And you can have rabbit ears in the dirt you guys taught me.

(…)

Yeah, it was about this time last year. Yeah.

(…)

Yeah. I bought an improm to porta potty tents, you know, like as we were, you know, I did. I have that. I have not taken it out of the box.(…) I need to take that thing, set it up in the in the in the living room.

(…)

Yeah, right. I was thinking that was the same episode or the episode just before we were talking about the absorbent pellet or something. The powder. Yeah. The five gallon bucket. Yeah. Same as the powder, the wipes, I mean the sanitary wipes so you can clean your hands.

(…)

All kinds of stuff. But it was that was a funny, funny episode. And yeah, you learned a lot on that episode, didn’t you Jamie?

(…)

Oh my god, I learned so much. I bought that packets of enzyme stuff and it’s somewhat lost somewhere either in my house or my camper never to be seen. The pop-up tent that I bought was way too small. That was a bad purchase.(…) But that I think that definitely is one of my favorite episodes of all time. We just laughed that entire. Did you get the did you get the little tent, the little potty tent where it has the the mesh for so when you’re sitting and you can look out eye level and see make sure somebody’s not rushing the tent.

(…)

I did not get that one. I got all the feet. It’s all Kelly green and it’s like too small. It’s like maybe a kid. So it’s so funny. I mean that that’s kind of like one of my fears is that somebody’s going to get the camera going and they’re going to say, okay, rush the tent and then I want to be sitting there. Of course, Chip, I wish you were going. I forgot about this last year. Chip, you said after EJS that you would have gone up on not metal masher. What is that one?(…) Top of the world and sit on the the poop bucket for us and let us take a picture of you on top of the world.

(…)

Yeah, I would have had a dance on but yes,(…) we got a picture him on chicken corners.

(…)

Yeah, if you look if you look if you look close to that group picture from chicken corners, I didn’t know that. I didn’t know that. I didn’t know that.

(…)

It’s always a conversation piece to pull out a porta-potty and sit on that instead of a lawn chair.

(…)

Yeah, the rest of us remember it all too well.

(…)

Aren’t you making your sandwich on top of that thing? I think that’s what the district. I use it for a table. Yeah, it’s it’s a very convenient multifunctional thing, but my wife doesn’t like it. If I just use it bear, she wants me to put like foil over it or something because she’s worried about contamination, but you got to build your resistance. All right. I’m just so here’s what I learned when I was at the Great Smoky Mountain Jeep invasion.

(…)

There’s a tornado seat.

(…)

So don’t use that. Don’t use that. It’s on a

(…)

more bad.

(…)

Go to tornado seat.com. It’s wild. This thing folds down and it has a strap that you could carry around. It opens up. It could fit any weight. This guy was pretty big and he was walking around like what is that thing that you’re that strapped around that you’re wearing is like a purse. He’s like you got to see it. It’s a tornado seat. It opens up into a chair. If you get the large size, the top opens up and it could either be a garbage can or a potty.

(…)

So as we learned from Lisa, my other my co-founder that she doesn’t mind pooping in the woods. I now have I still have not shit in the woods, but you can I now have a tornado seat so that if you can go if you have to go no matter where you are. So let me make sure I understand this when you use this like for number two when you take a poop in it and then you collapse it back down and you strap it to your back is the poop still in it.

(…)

I would collapse it back down with the poop in it, but you could tie off the bag, but this way you have like a portable chair. Okay, so there’s like a bag or something that goes in. It doesn’t store all the waste products while you’re carrying around that because that terrifies me. It’s the magic. Keep here. That would be gross. That would be really great. Wait, so is there any vortex of wind involved with our could there be no, can you put a turbo on it? That would be interesting.

(…)

He’s going to have adult poop bags like you carry around with your dogs. You can hand them out to people as they’re grabbing the tornado seat walking in the woods. Yeah, we just got to episode 1000.(…) So Tony you asked about memorable episodes. I don’t know whether it’s memorable, pleasant. Hey, I didn’t specify. This is all we got all we need.

(…)

I have no idea what episode number it was, but you and Josh got into an argument or discussion about radio frequencies and then like the next the next episode you had an expert come on that reinforced your position against Josh. Well, when your brother won’t believe what you say, you bring somebody else on their degrees with you.

(…)

That was the antenna episode. Yeah, antenna. That was that was painful, but funny at the same time. Yeah, I remember sending Josh a message on the back channel chat that we have and I said, let’s go with this and yeah, so yeah, it was pretty funny. He was saying it doesn’t make any difference, but between the antenna length for your amfm radio, whether it’s a below 50 caliber bullets or a full-size antenna and that of course is bullshit.

(…)

Wait, so what’s the correct answer? What should I be running? Oh my God, don’t start it. I have a short answer.

(…)

The Jeep talk. Oh yeah, do away with the antenna and just listen to the Jeep talk show. We have a thousand episodes. So there’s plenty of stuff to listen to. You don’t have to listen to amfm.

(…)

I just got to time in on this.

(…)

I have a small collection of antennas simply because I feel like they’re like mommy dears. No more wire hangers and I can build literally like an art thing on my wall full of them. Like you guys.

(…)

I judge me. There’s nothing. Yeah, I make everyone that comes to the store take off their antenna. Just it’s got to go. It’s got to go. So now I need to know this. This is a real question. I think what were everybody’s cringing. I think I can do this in a brief a brief answer.(…) So the for am broadcast ban the actual antenna size is hundreds of feet long.

(…)

Every frequency has a length of antenna that is required to be the best antenna for it. Obviously, you can’t have an antenna that’s hundreds of feet long on a car. So they put something in there that is a compromise. So with the high power from the am broadcast and the length of the antenna that you have, which is way too short, then you’re able to hear the am broadcast just fine. But if you get far away from those those transmitters, then you’re the amount of signal that you get is less and less FM is a much higher frequency. So it can be a shorter antenna.

(…)

So so the best thing I say it’s fun changing those antennas out, especially if it’s a one of those 50 caliber bullets. So what I think what I recommend is if you’re in an emergency situation, you’re going to need the longer antenna so you can get information from you know, you know, where the nukes are coming in or whatever carry that long antenna with you so that you can swap it out when you need it. Because most of the time we don’t need a long antenna because we don’t already listen to radio anymore. So just carry.(…) Well, then I won’t. I stole all the air. I mean, it’s pretty serious. How many of these hey trash bring the antennas?

(…)

You guys got to see this but down here in in Alabama that hundreds of feet long antenna.

(…)

There’s a lot of trucks out here with them. You’d be surprised to see be antenna that they’re using like 102 inch well. That’s a good question.(…) So I’m gonna find out Jeep. Where are you going to put this? Well, I have I have a place in the gladiator that right above the seat of the ceiling. I have this little package or something and it slides right in there and I keep it keep it with me just in case but I have a shorter antenna on there now. I never used the AM FM for anything. So but I have it just a case of emergency. So, you know Jeep was also concerned about this. So in 2024, they did away with the antennas all together. Now the antennas in the windshield.

(…)

No, they’re making me lose money.

(…)

Look at this. This is ink.

(…)

There’s this is just from this week.

(…)

I’m sorry. Are you doing this with permission or you just going out there and taking them?

(…)

Don’t answer don’t answer. It’s all right. We don’t want we don’t want this to happen.

(…)

We won’t tell you. Yeah, but your name is with you and actually you could put it probably under the backseat would be a place that you could keep the thing. I don’t have a JL but I’m assuming that the seat there’s a place under the seat like in a gladiator that you can store things. You know, the provider of the truck show. I’m going to be glad enough about the Jeeps.

(…)

By the way, let’s see we can bring by the way by the way, Greg your your buddy.

(…)

Oh God, what’s her name?

(…)

Damn, I forget her name. She actually commented on a post today about doing some research and it’s like she doesn’t know me. What’s the girl’s name? She was doing stuff for quarter tech friend of yours blonde met her at EJS last year.

(…)

Yeah, she was telling me to do some research. You guys you guys must be on the same page.

(…)

What was she telling me to do research? I was about the the nacho love interview.

(…)

So, Yeah,(…) I don’t know like I like her. She’s a nice girl. But the one thing that bothers me and I hate to say it this way because it sounds sexist, but it’s not she’s one of those girls. It’s just like everybody talks down to me because I’m a woman. No, it’s 2024 people don’t do that anymore. They talk to you about your merit and how you act not what’s between your legs. And she just pushes it so much that it bothers me. Right? If you want to be a strong independent person awesome, but don’t complain based on gender because we should be so far past that. It’s the same crap as racism. Wish as a society. We should be so far past it. It doesn’t fucking matter. Of course, it does still happen. There are men that still do that to women. I try not to be one of them. I mean, I like picking on people. Well, there are but it’s still far between. It’s not like it’s a daily thing. So if you’re constantly bringing it to light when it’s not true, that’s what it bothers me. Man, that’s a good looking. So my motto to that is nobody cares work harder.(…) Literally, that’s how I get every single day when people walk in and a guy looks at me like, oh wait, this is yours. You’re going to talk to me about my G. You damn right. I am. What’s out? Yeah.(…) Tell me I want to know and I’m gonna tell you what I know.

(…)

Well, I’ll definitely tell you what I know. Just ask everybody. But we enjoy it Greg. Quit beating yourself up.

(…)

So I was and this is good that you’re here today. I’m shifting gears. I’m going down a rabbit hole. Greg. I was doing an interview today with Patrick and I’m trying to yeah, I’m trying to remember. It’s a German company. They make a four and a half inch lift wheels and so that’s Patrick. He owns a warion, which is and is also called oars.

(…)

And they are the largest importer of aftermarket Jeep parts into Europe period. They also one of the cool things I learned through them. They do everything that they bring into Europe. So it’s it’s unlike here. If it’s an aftermarket part, you are not allowed to put it on your vehicle unless it’s certified by the country that you can drive it on the road.

(…)

So so not only does he import all these parts, you know, let’s say like an AEV front bumper or dirty life wheel or whatever it is.

(…)

He imports a set and then he has to pay the government like 10 and $20,000 to do this testing on it. And then he gets a license to be able to sell it as a road with the part and he’s the only guy that does that in Europe and he is a phenomenal guy. His name is Patrick.

(…)

But they are there are people people over here don’t realize what a big deal he is in Europe.

(…)

So if he was on your show, I asked if he knew you he goes. Oh, yeah, I know Greg very well and yeah, we actually we actually talked on the phone the other day. I built him a Jeep in 2017,(…) but and it’s a beautiful Jeep, but they took it apart two days after I delivered it to them so they could 3D scan it and then they never really know.(…) Well, I guess, you know, sales aside. Yeah, it’s so it was a it was a 2017 JKU and you’ve probably seen pictures of it on my social media, but I grafted on the front end of a 1967 wagon. You’re onto it, but it wasn’t it wasn’t like one of those fiberglass kits. I did it all in steel. It was all handmade and it was a beautiful Jeep.(…) So you can find it on my Instagram, but yeah, they they took it apart and 3D scanned it because they were going to make a kit and then just never did it. Yeah, we talked about his 392. We talked about his gladiator with the Hemi in it and we also talked about getting back to that. I think it’s TUV is the governmental group that has to approve what you’re putting on or what you’re selling to put on vehicles. And I was really surprised to find out that they can do 39 inch tires and the four and a half inch lift and what was the oh, yeah, beadlocks. They have a government approved beadlock that they can sell and people can put on on their vehicles on their Jeeps or whatever for for driving around in Germany. And I was really impressed with that. I was surprised that Germany Germany allows any of that stuff. Australia is really horrid about the regulations they have on doing things like that.

(…)

Yeah, and they they really like their beadlock. If you look at them, it’s a it’s a really, really well engineered beadlock and they’re not super expensive.

(…)

They’re they don’t have a huge name brand here in the US, but it’s a really quality wheel. I’ve actually used a couple sets of them and they make you know for your JK or your JL or your JT as well as they make the eight lug versions to your RAM or for your one time conversions. But it really is a very high quality wheel.(…) So, you know, if you ever get a chance check them out or put some I was going to say the EJS Patrick told me to come by and he’d show me some stuff.

(…)

Yep. Yep.(…) We’ve got a guy in Italy right now and he said they’ve all but outlawed off-roading a couple of private courses. Yeah, that’s so there’s really not a need for expected from Germany. So I was really surprised to see this now. It’s not they’re they’re a German company, but they’re also selling their products in the United States, which is yes, their products are for sale here. Or their products are for sale here in the US. They have a couple of distributors, but they really are. They just they don’t have a the name brand like Dirty Life or AEV. Our Bright Light. Yeah.

(…)

Light Bright.

(…)

They make a much better wheel.

(…)

But why are they have fenders as well flares, I should say. Hi, Hi flares and flare extensions, which is really cool. But the website is BA W. A. R. I. O. N.

(…)

And it’s Patrick has it definitely has a German accent. So it was a little confusing to me, but by Warion, I think is how it goes. What do you said it Greg? How do you say it? Yes, it’s yeah, it’s by Warion and and he definitely has a strong German accent. But next time you talk to him, if you talk to him on the show or on the phone or even if you just run into him at EJS, make sure when you’re talking to him, slip it into your conversation. But you know in a conversation when you say yes or yeah,(…) you know, if somebody’s asking you questions, you’re talking or just like that, where you go, uh-huh don’t say yeah and don’t say yes. Say yeah. Yeah.

(…)

Because in German that means fuck you asshole.

(…)

Oh, this is like a John Lee you do you. Oh,(…) and he will laugh and laugh and laugh and he’ll he might even ask. It’s great to tell you to say that. Yeah. Yeah. So I’m gonna I didn’t ask him in the in the interview, but if I get him into the gladiator to do an interview out at EJS, I’m gonna I’m gonna interrupt him and say can you say get get to the chopper for me real quick?

(…)

Well, yeah, but Schwarzenegger is not German. He’s what is it? But the accent is very simple. Yeah.

(…)

Yeah.

(…)

Yeah.

(…)

Yeah. Anyway, we talked about you before the interview and I thought that was that was great. I didn’t I didn’t know if they knew you guys knew you or not. So he doesn’t know you that well because he was excited to to see you at EJS.

(…)

He’s actually been here to my house. He brought it.(…) Yeah, he even tried to even try to hook his my son up with his daughter. Wow. He brought his daughter here and they’re like the same age.

(…)

But my son was really sick. He had like a hundred and four degree fever. So he didn’t even want to come out of the house. But yeah, when I when I built that Jeep for him and you can find a picture of it on my Instagram. It’s bright yellow. So you can’t miss it when I built that for him. He flew in to check it out before I can’t believe they’re they’re having to fly over here for that’s a long flight to go to Moab and he’s been he said he’s been a bunch of time. So I guess you get used to it. Yeah, he’s been a lot of times. Yep. So one quick thing that I shared here before we started the show. I thought it was cool. They had a whole set set up in his office. So they had wallpaper up that had the company name. They had a TV set up that was advertising their products in the background and they this is the thing that we thought was the funniest.

(…)

They had a gentleman or a gentleman came in and while we were just chatting before the interview, he came in and fixed his hair.

(…)

And it’s like that. We were so special. That’s a little like coming. It was it’s nice though. It was like we were just so special. They really were excited about being on the show. And then once I found out that you knew him, I thought you might have been had something to do with that something behind it, but it doesn’t sound like you were you’re aware of it at all. Well, didn’t I didn’t I introduce one of you guys to them because they were two booths over from me. It’s been I haven’t been to see him in a while though. And and I thought it seemed I thought it seemed I walked somebody or Chris, but no, it definitely wasn’t Chuck because I didn’t get to see. So recently this this last scene of this, you remember?

(…)

Yeah, yeah. So just in case, I mean, we know Greg really well here on the show and I don’t want to. Greg may be new to some of you guys. This is Greg Henderson of unofficial use only. And he’s a big member here on the show. We really enjoy Greg coming on the show and regaling us with his stories of rubber ducks and ducking Jeeps and highlighting them with rock lights, which is really, really cool. I got all my rock lights working, Greg. So I’ll be bringing that, you know, because your show, I actually have this sitting on my toolbox just because. That poor duck.

(…)

All right. Well, let’s get back to Greg. We’re talking about episode 1000 that’s coming out this this Thursday and we’re also everybody on the everybody on the Zoom room tonight should boycott that episode.

(…)

And we’re talking about some memorable things that you may have heard on the Jeep talks over the years. One memorable thing that I really liked, especially on the roundtable,(…) Greg was building the quarter tech 50 50 JTE on the many episodes of the roundtable and we got to watch him build that in here on the Zoom room, which was really cool. Yeah, for three months for 90 days, you got to watch it live every day. It was still scary as hell when you cut that thing in half.

(…)

But brand new Jeep cut in half.

(…)

All right. So thank you guys for indulging me and talking to Greg a little bit. Greg’s fun to talk to. So and you guys feel free to ask him questions and talk to him too. We’ll only have to hear three times that he talks about. Well, who are the new people on the show? Jamie, tell us about the new people because I think that’s the that’s primarily you. So Mary Burns just came on. If any of you have anything to do or have seen anything from jeeping nation.

(…)

Mary is the queen of jeeping nation. She’s done with us. She’s also a professional photographer. She owns shore photography. She’s down in Florida and has taken pictures of for me at a win rock. She’s at all the big events. She’s kind of fantastic to know who else is on here. We’ve got Tina. I’ve already mentioned her to you. We have Lisa Bergquist who is and I pronounced her name correctly this time.(…) Who is she’s a blue Jeep up there. She’s one of my admins. So she is from the Pittsburgh area. So those of you that are in Ohio, I am going to be doing something that I’m going to do. I’m going to do something that I’m in the Pittsburgh area.(…) So those of you that are in Ohio, I am going to be doing Southerton July 4th weekend.(…) I’m going out to Ben Franklin range in April.(…) I’m doing Bantam in June. And then we’re doing rocks for roses, which is a charity event in September.

(…)

Lisa, what’s the name of that place?

(…)

To put you on the spot a little bit. I don’t know if I can talk. Can you hear me? We could hear you. Okay. Yeah. It’s a dough Valley.

(…)

Which is members only place. But for this particular event,

(…)

they open up to the public for cystic fibrosis.

(…)

So still well, Valley. Is that what you said?(…) No, no Valley like those and dear. Yeah. It’s an amazing place with lots of gorgeous rock trails.

(…)

The one trail that they call mall crawl is probably the toughest that a stock Jeep can do. But there’s, you know, some easy stuff there too, but I’m just so excited to get girls playoff road involved and come out to these different events.

(…)

And Jamie, I think a lot of the regulars here already know about your organization, the thing that you do. Can you take a moment and bring everybody else up to speed, especially our people that are maybe seeing this for the first time on YouTube?

(…)

Of course, I would love to. So girls play off road. We actually just celebrated our five year anniversary this weekend.

(…)

It started out as a girls only ride and wound up becoming a group.(…) And because women have husbands and sons and fathers have daughters and guys have girlfriends and everybody’s getting into the off road world. It was, we became a family oriented group of all off road vehicles. We are not just Jeep specific and not just red Jeeps because Tony loves red Jeeps. Yeah, but something’s wrong with Tony.(…) My mom says I’m special. So when the liquor special.

(…)

So a big part of what we do is we give back.

(…)

And so we run a big charity event. So we’ve done food drives. Our Florida chapter does school supplies, food drives, clothing drives up in Pennsylvania. We’ve done the food, the clothing. But our big event every year is called the prom event where we collect prom dresses that are new or gently used. And we give them away to underprivileged teens in the coal region. And now it is spreading out. We’ve got Florida is probably going to do their own prom at some point this year.

(…)

Someone from Harrisburg has decided they’re going to start giving away dresses there, which granted it’s an hour away from us. But my hope is to get this across the country and with Marissa being on board in Alabama and having connections in hot springs, Arkansas.(…) I want to make this a big thing. So we are expanding. I am looking for people to come on board to help create chapters in different states,(…) but the events are getting bigger.

(…)

We are doing a huge. So it used to be that once a month I did a newbie day. So to get newer people onto the trails and people that were experienced just wanted an easier day.(…) And so it kind of got a little boring for me, at least. It’s like going on Disney’s, you know, it’s a small world going round and round. So what we’re doing this year is one major newbie day at Roush Creek. So you can get trail badges when you’re there.

(…)

And you’ve got me,(…) Eric Taylor, who is Trail Hunter USA, Wendy Norton, who actually runs women’s newbie women wheelers.

(…)

We’re putting together this one big camping and wheeling event for a weekend,(…) and it is going to be kind of awesome. We just started selling tickets for that.

(…)

And we will also be hosting the fifth prom event will be at P.A. Mudfest at Famous Redding Outdoors Memorial Day weekend. So our events are getting bigger. They’re getting more. They’re changing. I needed to do something different. I was starting to lose my mind. And so and so I was taking kind of a break and that’s why you guys haven’t seen me. But Mr. Chip was so sweet to send me an email. So you guys are back to being stuck with me. So everybody.(…) Chip a little bit, but I do. So my first experience really with the show was when I was a guest and it was awesome. And you made me feel so comfortable for my first time. Real thing outside of I am so happy to hear that. That’s my goal. And if you if you knew me in person and my wife says I can’t believe that you’re so nice to everybody.

(…)

I mean, I’m nice to her. But yeah, so I’m glad that I made you comfortable. I definitely like that. It was special and I have felt comfortable and you guys see it. You know, like there are definitely nights where I’m going to be like, I’m going to be like, oh, that’s fine. On the topics. And if I shut up. But it this is one of the most fun things to do on a Tuesday night that I could think of. You know, it’s just always a good time. Lots of laughs and totally educational.

(…)

So I think we need more stuff like this. So me and any of my girls would be more than happy to see it. And so I think it’s definitely something I’ve had for so long. Me and any of my girls would be more than happy to step in when you need Someone to jump in with Wendy on chicks chat or whatever. Yeah, it could be either one of them Julian and Wendy Both may not may not be available depending on the show So it’s really fun and I’ll just mention really quick for for all your group I think all the regulars here know about it, but we do a fifth weekly episode We do four episodes a week But on those every other week we try to do a chick chat episode and it is a woman specific. It doesn’t have to have women guests that could be men or women but I wanted a Episode where it is all the hosts or women so cuz so you guys I mean I think it There’s absolutely nothing wrong with a male host. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with a female host But I think that that it just makes women feel more comfortable because men can be a little

(…)

Harsh And not that women can’t be but generally speaking I think that you guys are a little more forgiving and willing to listen to a woman talk about stuff And we want to bring more women in to jeeping and that’s one of the reasons why we had you on the show is because we Need more

(…)

women off-road

(…)

So I am all about that as if you’ve seen my social media today I saw that and

(…)

then as I jumped on so I think that between Mary and Marissa and I and the rest of my team, you know Like we could definitely have a whole lot of fun with helping out with the other with that Can I say snack real quick and see if I get any kind of reaction snack you want a snack

(…)

Your dog looks like it’s interested in getting a little attention from you Oh I’ve got two of the babies are up here this so so the one you keep seeing is the newest one that Stella We rescued her at the end of November. She was born under a trail an abandoned trailer in Arkansas And so she just turned one and she did her first day of wheeling on Saturday We had her camping and wheeling for the first time and she did awesome The dogs are just so wonderful I love dogs so much and I’ll warn anybody if you’re meeting me for the first time and you have your dog with you The dog gets five minutes at least five minutes of full attention from me So you don’t don’t feel bad if you’re a dog person you understand what I’m talking about I

(…)

Know listening

(…)

Was it a trailer or the side of Rex house

(…)

Tony before we all jump off subject the girls were talking earlier and they were talking about a CF event(…) And that CF event I wanted to know is Alyssa Magro with willing with CF a part of that Because she’s a very prominent figure in where I’m located with willing with cystic fibrosis and I just Wanted to know if Alyssa was a part of that event and if not I can introduce y’all Because she is hardcore does phenomenal is that every event?(…) Look I say locally, but you know smokey Mountain Dew division anything on the East Coast and then a little bit further But she(…) Awesome if you can make the intro for me You guys may know each other already, but what Information you have Jamie so Travis or anybody else that would like to reach out to you. How would they get in contact with you?

(…)

Thank you, um, they could reach out on a

(…)

Social on Facebook or Instagram on girls play off-road and I will in the chat does the chat show up To everybody. It should be everybody on the zoom meeting not you won’t show up on the screen But keep it anyway On on on the chat I’ve already asked that question and I just didn’t receive response is why(…) Yeah, I was like no, it’s good(…) You ask it on the the show because now that answer can go out to many people instead of just you so I appreciate you asking

(…)

All right before we wrap this thing up does anybody else have anything they would like to say about episode 1000 I mean what you some things that you’ve experienced in the past of the Jeep talk show hell It doesn’t have to be something you like something that you didn’t like about the Jeep talk show You know we love hearing all the feedback

(…)

but Do you prefer steel or

(…)

Synthetic, I always synthetic

(…)

Hey Tony, here’s to a thousand very much There you go In the money what ear? You’ve been asking us our thoughts. Did you think I mean when you started this? You’d make it to a thousand episodes and how many downloads are you up to now? So we do about 40,000 a month.(…) But that’s the new episodes and the back catalog because obviously we have a large back catalog, which if you guys don’t already know, all 1,000 episodes or soon to be 1,000 episodes are going to be available in the future. And the 998 that we have are available now.(…) This is actually episode 999, if I didn’t already say. So 999 is a big deal. But anyway, I’m going to mention this on the one thousandth episode. The only reason why we are at one thousand is because of all of you. Definitely the listeners, but more importantly,(…) and I shouldn’t say this, but more importantly, the people that have been volunteers for the show that do the guest co-hosts because doing this, anything like this by yourself and Jamie, I’m sure feels the same way about her group and her team. It’s very difficult to do something by yourself, and it certainly isn’t nearly as much fun as having people join in and just coming up with ideas.

(…)

The thoughts that you guys come up with, we can integrate that we’ve integrated that into the show and made things better because of the multitude of ideas that you guys have. Some of the stuff I don’t like, like Patreon. I don’t I didn’t I didn’t like the idea of doing Patreon, but you guys finally talked me into it and it’s been successful.

(…)

So, yeah, it’s it’s great. I think that the best thing of this is is just having a group of people around me that are willing to be a part of this. And that includes you, the listener,(…) because if we didn’t have the listeners that we had, there’d be really no reason to do this other than just a group of guys sitting around talking shit about Jeeps.

(…)

There’s nothing wrong with that, but it’s neat to have a larger audience. And each other.

(…)

We talk a lot of shit about each other, too.

(…)

Fuck you, Bob.

(…)

I love you, too, Greg. And if you guys haven’t already seen, you guys should go and look at the Christmas, the Merry Christmas video that we did. And there’s a surprise ending on one of those that involves Bob that we really got a lot of comments and stuff on. People really enjoyed that video. Everybody saying Merry Christmas from the Jeep Talk Show. I think Bill said, except you, Bob.

(…)

That was the coolest thing. I love that.

(…)

Yeah.

(…)

Tony talking about.

(…)

Talking about Patreon, this 1000 episodes means that for the five dollar a month pledge, you get 200 episodes per dollar.

(…)

No, it’s not a bad deal at all. And I and big thanks to everybody that is a Patreon subscriber. And I know this is why Matt mentioned this. So I would say this. Matt was our first Patreon subscriber.

(…)

Good job, Matt. We’re proud of you. Hey, Tony, except for that first one. But see, without that. Yeah, that one. That first one was a palate cleanser. You needed that first one so you could appreciate all the ones after that.

(…)

Do you have the Christmas song keyed up, Tony, for the man? You’re going to get banned from here, not by me.

(…)

But you’re going to get banned from here. Oh, and then you’re going to ask him for a turkey gobble, man. I think I heard a. Bob’s been here too much because I got my mouse pointer on it.

(…)

What’s Travis say? Oh, what is it? Yeah, yeah. Shut up. Shut up.

(…)

You’re so wild.

(…)

And I’ve got a huge ass. Oh, by the way, by the way.

(…)

Oh, by the way, I got to, I got to point this out so you guys can give Chuck a hard time. Chuck.

(…)

Uh, canceled his subscription to the newsletter today. Did he know what he was doing when he, I mean, cause he’s computer challenged, right? He never used it anyway. He always sent the thing out. Send me the thingy. Hey, has anybody heard about Chuck going to EJS? Have you guys talked to him at all about his, uh, is it on or off or is he going to go? Is he not going to go? I don’t know. Greg. That’s right. He did. I remember that.

(…)

Anyway, I hope, I hope, I hope Chuck goes out there. I think that’d be a lot of fun.

(…)

I think Travis should go to one of these days.

(…)

Well, as I always like to say, the, uh, the zoom meeting continues on even after the, uh, the, the show recording stops. Uh, we do this every week. Uh, all you have to do is just go to a jeep talk show.com slash contact, sign up for a newsletter and you will get a reminder about how to join us here on the zoom meeting. We do this every Tuesday, 7 30 PM. And I like to say it’s the pre party, uh, the, the show recording, uh, starts at 8 PM central time and you should be on here so that you can be part of the show. We can hear your voice and, uh, you know, we can learn new things from you guys.

(…)

All right. So, uh, coming up on our next, uh, Jeep talk show event is going to be, well, it’s not technically a Jeep talk show event, but event we’re going to, uh, we’re going to be going to Easter Jeep safari. So are you going, you know, the Jeep talk show team and Jeep talk show listeners will be there. Uh, we’d like to see and meet you. Uh, all you have to do is just to follow the show, follow us on social media. Cause I’m sure it will be lots of posts on Instagram, uh, about where we are and what we’re doing. And we’re coming up with a list of, uh, uh, telephone numbers so that we can send out, uh, SMS text messages, uh, to the entire group that’s going on. So, uh, reach out to us to send us an email, go to Jeep talk show.com slash contact, and, uh, we’ll, uh, we’ll make sure that we get that information to you and get your information that we can share to the group if you want to do that.

(…)

Uh, also too, this is a bit far away, but I do want to mention it now. Uh, we went to our first, uh, Jeep meets at Katie crossings off road. I’m sorry. Katie crossings, uh, ice house that off road would be nice. Uh, and that’s, this was the past, uh, March 10th. We got some great interviews there and, uh, there’s going to be, uh, Greg from underground graphics, uh, Todd from off roading one on one.com and, uh, Clint from Texas four wheel drive. And this will be a great opportunity for you guys to talk about graphics for your Jeep, uh, ought to take an off road class. If, uh, if you’re here in Texas or you want to travel to Texas and, uh, you can talk to these, uh, these folks directly. And of course you can meet me. I’m going to be there the next event. I think I’m telling, I’m thinking up saying this right is April 21st, uh, on a Sunday, or that is a Sunday, and it lasts from 1 PM to 4 PM. Uh, and if you’d like to kind of get a feel for the event, uh, just go over to, uh, youtube.com and do a search for Jeep talk show and you will see a few interviews that we did and you can learn about the G tops, uh, which are clear tops that they, uh, take your freedom tops and make into see through panels.

(…)

So, uh, I’m very excited. We have a set that we’re going to be using at EJS. A big thanks to Chris of G tops for sending those down. And, uh, it’s going to, it’s going to make the intro, the ride to Moab, the 20 hour ride to Moab a lot more interesting, uh, with those G tops, uh, tops.

(…)

And that brings us to the end of another exhilarating Jeep talk show round table I want to express my deepest gratitude to our incredible panel of Jeep enthusiasts,(…) uh, for sharing their valuable insights, experiences, and expertise with us today. Your passion for Jeeps is truly inspiring and we’re grateful for your contributions. Hey, thanks again to trails off road.com for sponsoring this round table episode. Please support the sponsors that help support the show. You love the Jeep talk show. Visit trails off road.com right now. I’m going to be using this at EJS and this, this year I’m not going to get stuck on top of a mountain and not know how to get back to Moab, especially when I go, I have a group of people waiting for me to go eat. I mean, I need to get, you have some food, especially a long day of wheeling on a metal masher. You can go back to the past episodes and find out what happened there.

(…)

So until next time, keep those Jeeps running strong, hit those trails with confidence. And remember, it’s not just a vehicle, it’s a way of life. This has been Tony hosting the Jeep talk show round table episode, and we’ll catch you on the next ride.

You’re my friend. You’re my new friend.
