A Show About Jeeps!

Episode 829 – Jeep Stuck in Grease?

Jeep got stuck in the sand

A Greek couple in Mykonos wanted to test the capabilities of their expensive rented Jeep.

In particular, the Greek couple visited Korfos beach on the “Island of the Winds” in the evening in a rented luxury vehicle.

At some point, the driver decided to drive the vehicle into the sea for an unknown reason. Maybe he wanted to test his off-road capabilities; maybe he had seen a lot of movies and thought he would be able to drive in the sea.

However, as it turned out, he did not manage to move, and the car stayed there until the morning. It is a 2023 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, worth 80,000 euros.

Jeep Grand Wagoneer Concept’s Overland Tent Costs $30,000

For the 2023 Moab event, Jeep outfitted its Grand Wagoneer with a suite of expedition-ready modifications, including a super high-end sleeping setup from the folks at Redtail Overland that’s sure to blow your mind.

In order to design a true four-season enclosure that could be secure, lightweight, temperature-controlled, and insulated, Redtail Overland needed to stray from the usual design of rooftop camping quarters. Look at the folding side panels of the Skyloft, for example; where you’d normally find flappy fabric on a true rooftop tent, the Skyloft utilizes foam-insulated carbon-fiber panels. And not just carbon fiber—there are two polycarbonate windows facing the rear of the Grand Wagoneer. In addition to being lightweight, the panels provide additional security when camping in areas where bears are a concern.

Each Skyloft is hand built to order in Colorado from premium materials with extremely limited availability. Pricing is on par with luxury teardrop campers, coming in between $25,000 and $30,000 depending on the options. Don’t think of it as a tent, think of it as a luxury hard-sided camper for your roof.

  1. Great Show ! I would love to try to get that Jeep out under its own power ! Lower air pressure down, gently try backing out with each incoming waves, I think it might work ! If not I’m just glad it’s not my Jeep 😁
Ya … I’m going to try to make Moab next year.

    1. Thanks! I agree, some people don’t have the mechanical aptitude to figure things out.

  2. Been driving trucks around since 1977, oil fild was the most fun you could ever have in a truck! It was like off roading, putting tire chains on in the summertime just to get 38,000 pounds of empty trailers up a dirt road and even more fun was trying to get it up that same dirt road with 1 foot sometimes 2 foot of snow on it .😁 you learned how to feather your throttle really really good and also feel for any kind of traction or motion from any direction. It was a blast. A lot of times you would have to get the road grader from the oil company that also had chains on it to come out and pull you up onto the location, load your truck and then pull you back out them days are all over with all I do is drive on the pavement now, it could be quite challenging also in the winter time. If I can figure out how to work this damn thing, I’ll send you a picture of one of my better days out in Wyoming up on the mountain. Luckily a good friend that lived down in town. Had his jeep come up and find out what was going on. This is long before cell phones.
