Episode 649 – Bill and his Electric TJ Wrangler

Bill is just a guy in his garage with a welder and a passion for making stuff. Bill’s Jeep history started before he was born! Ten years, in fact, before he was born when Bill’s father drove HIS grandpa’s 1964 CJ3B to their family farm when he was 16. The Jeep sat in the neighbors barn until Bill himself turned 16 and got the idea to get it running. A few years later while in Tech College for Automotive Maintenance, Bill restored his great-grandpa’s Jeep. In 2012 while deployed to Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan, Bill got turned on to the notion of pulling out the internal combustion engine and replacing it with an electric motor. 9 years later his early interest with Jeeps resurfaced and joined his new interest of electric drive and the Tesla Jeep was born!
