Here We Go Again – Jeep Recalls JL and JT – Exploding Clutch
I swear Tony jinxed this one. We were JUST talking about this last week
Round TWO of recalls for manual transmission JL and JT’s
Documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration
- Under some circumstances, the clutch pressure plate can overheat due to friction
- Clutch plate could rapidly fracture (explode)
- “Rapid Unplanned Disassembly” could lead to fire
70k vehicles affected / 1 reported injury /
2018–2023 Wranglers, and model year 2020–2023 Gladiators w/ man trans
Almost exactly the same as the previous recall in 2020
No part defect / Possible design flaw = no fix avail yet
That’s why they are waiting till Mid-April to send notices to owners
Was It Target Fixation? …Or Just Ice?
It was quite the return to class for these Westport Connecticut high schoolers
After 11 days away.
School was out the week of Feb 20th – 24th for winter break.
The following Monday was a professional development day;
Tuesday ended up being a snow day.
Previous full day in school was back on Feb 17th
Wednesday, March 1st, School was supposed to be back in session,
But not before a delay of several hours.
A teacher driving a Jeep Wrangler crashes through a wall of the school
Crashing through culinary classrooms / breaking gas lines.
Police, Fire, and Gas Co. all on the scene / Classes delayed several hours
Building ok, no injuries, classes resumed that morning (no gas = no heat?)
Some claim ice may have been a factor, I call B.S.

Ladies Off-road Network Challenge – 2023
I’m going to be participating in The Ladies Off-Road challenge. There will be ten specific challenges to do that include scavenger hunts and deadlines but I’m looking forward to the challenge.
It’s the 7th annual 2023 Ladies Off-road Challenge from Charlene Bower of Ladies Off-road Network. Charlene prides herself in helping women get out and learn about off-roading. I decided to join the challenge – I signed up, paid my registration fee, and am waiting for my packet in the mail and ready to start.
It officially starts March 6, however, you can sign up anytime. It runs through August 30 and there are 10 different challenges and scavenger hunts to accomplish like driving, writing your story, welding, and many more – I can’t wait for the welding challenge, I have always wanted to learn to weld.
Maybe you are already signed up for this challenge or maybe you are hearing about it for the first time, either way, I thought it would be great if other Jeep Talk Show women listeners joined in and we did the challenge.
You can sign up anytime, but the sooner you do, you will have more time to complete everything. If you have signed up, or sign up, let me know so we can connect
The rollout of all the challenges starts March 6 and will be shared each day for 10 days. They do not have to be done in any order and you can take as much time as needed, however, you need to submit one per month.
Now for the competitive gals listening; there are points awarded for each challenge completed and prizes at the end. But if you just want to join and decide to only do a few then that’s OK too.
So I will be videoing each challenge and posting it on JTS and Trials 411 sites as I venture through all the challenges. My plan is to do all 10 and find all the things in the scavenger hunts – I may be a little competitive LOL
I also plan to provide updates in my segment on JTS at the end of each month as to what I completed & how it went. I feel I will probably learn some great info that I would be happy to pass on.

Jeep Talk Show Gladiator Update
Lawbreaker wins again?
Received another call from the deputy sheriff that is investigating my case.
Deputy said the driver’s license photo looks to be an old one and it doesn’t match up with the man in the security video, not well enough to be able to swear to it in court.
The deputy is searching online, social media, for a picture that identifies the man they believe damaged the 2021 Jeep Talk Show Gladiator.
No criminal record.
No telling how many times he has done this or something like this in the past and got away with it, or this was his first time.
I know the name, address, email, and phone number of the suspect. Should I call him and ask him why he did this?

Hmm with all that evidence and this POS walks. Lesson learned, leave the police out of it in the future. Shoot a BB gun at me and I will return fire with a Howitzer.😬
It’s not over yet, but without an image and name association online that better fits what’s on the Sam’s Club video…
