Gotta push the button. Welcome to XJTalk.com. The show. (Music) Hi guys, my name is Tony Mutteroy on XJTalk.com
[00:01:03:28 – 00:01:10:19]
and we have a special show tonight. It’s special because of the recent events in New Zealand this past week.
[00:01:11:21 – 00:01:13:23]
Yesterday. Yesterday. Yesterday.
[00:01:15:16 – 00:01:43:29]
We did an interview with Wayne Lang, Cantab 27, moderator extraordinaire on XJTalk.com and we recorded that about a little over a week ago and of course the big earthquake that happened here recently has caused a lot of issues in New Zealand as you’ve been aware of if you’ve been watching the news. So we’ll be playing that interview.
[00:01:45:04 – 00:01:58:13]
Wayne may be in the chat room. It just really depends. He’s fortunate to have electricity and internet access. So we’ll get started here in just a second. (Music)

[00:03:02:28 – 00:03:06:22]
XJTalk.com XJTalk.com It’s where you go when you’re not off-road.
[00:03:06:22 – 00:03:25:29]
Do you have questions or comments that you would like played on the air? We’ve set up voicemail just for that purpose. All you have to do is call 530-675-4102. Just leave your name, your location, and your question or comment. Chances are good it’ll get played on the air.
[00:03:25:29 – 00:03:35:07]
That number again is 530-675-4102. We look forward to hearing from you today.
[00:03:35:07 – 00:03:46:09]
Well let’s see, we’ve got Dalton 4×4, Fireman Ray 1. I think Fireman Ray is the good one. Fireman Ray 1 is the equal twin.
[00:03:47:10 – 00:03:54:19]
Punisher72, he told me what this was. Are you get
[00:03:54:19 – 00:03:57:09]
done? I can’t remember, I’m sorry.
[00:03:57:09 – 00:04:02:10]
Rugged1, there we go, thank you.
[00:04:02:10 – 00:04:07:21]
Rugged1 and Weldman, hmm, a big Jim was here.
[00:04:07:21 – 00:04:09:04]
I wonder where he went.
[00:04:09:04 – 00:04:12:15]
I wonder if he ran out of vodka and he had to make a quick run to the store.
[00:04:12:15 – 00:04:30:08]
So guys, thanks for showing up. As you may have read, whether it be on the XJTalk.com site or if you follow XJTalk on Facebook or Twitter, made the announcements there as well.
[00:04:31:23 – 00:04:37:09]
But we recorded an interview, Wayne and I recorded an interview about, a little over a week ago,
[00:04:37:09 – 00:04:45:06]
but certainly before this 6.3 earthquake that they had. And we talked about,
[00:04:45:06 – 00:04:52:19]
you know, what’s it like to have a Jeep in New Zealand, what do you do? And we also talked a little bit about the quake that they had back in September.
[00:04:52:19 – 00:04:57:27]
I think we even discussed some predictions about another big quake coming.
[00:04:58:21 – 00:05:03:05]
Having to do with the gentleman that predicts quakes by
[00:05:05:06 – 00:05:41:16]
where the moon position is, high tides, low tides, etc., etc. And I think I even poo-pooed it in the interview, but you’ll get to hear that. But before we begin, I would like to play a couple of voicemails that several of our XJTalk members, XJTalk.com members were kind enough to call in and leave. So let’s get started here with Big Jim, It’s Clean. So don’t get your hopes up. Yeah, this is Big Jim 350. Just wanted to tell Wayne that we’re all praying for him over here and hoping everything goes well.
[00:05:41:16 – 00:05:49:26]
And just letting you, Wayne, know that if you need anything, just know, and we’ll be happy to help you as much as we can.
[00:05:49:26 – 00:05:51:02]
Talk to you later, buddy.
[00:05:51:02 – 00:06:18:24]
Thanks, Jim. I know that you guys talk to Wayne a lot, and we actually we, I say we have been very fortunate because Wayne didn’t lose his internet access. He still has a house. There’s thousands of people that are homeless in the Christchurch area because their homes collapsed. And Wayne is one of the lucky ones, and he actually has a full house right now of 10 people.
[00:06:18:24 – 00:06:29:20]
And he didn’t name them, but I’m sure that he is trying to help out certainly his mother-in-law and friends and neighbors that perhaps don’t have some place to live.
[00:06:30:12 – 00:06:30:15]
When
[00:06:30:15 – 00:06:34:05]
I spoke with him the other day, he was
[00:06:34:05 – 00:06:37:25]
it was raining really hard out. And,
[00:06:37:25 – 00:06:48:11]
you know, we kind of take our houses for granted. And when you don’t have one, what do you do? I mean, it can be very depressing
[00:06:48:11 – 00:07:04:24]
because even if you get something built back up, how do you know how long it’s going to be there before it gets shaken apart again? It’s very even though Wayne and his family are uninjured and safe, at least for the time being,
[00:07:04:24 – 00:07:07:07]
because you don’t know what’s going to happen when there’s earthquakes,
[00:07:08:10 – 00:07:37:08]
there’s still that frustration. There’s still that, I don’t know. On the Gulf Coast, we kind of have it lucky because we get warnings of when the hurricane is coming and when it’s going to be here. I mean, you can set your watch to it almost and you have an idea how long it’s going to last and then it’s going to be over. And it’s probably going to be several years before you have to go through that again. But people that are in quake-prone areas and actually New Zealand, from what Wayne was telling me, is not a quake-prone area.
[00:07:38:24 – 00:07:42:10]
But if you’re in a quake-prone area, there’s no warning. I mean, there may be
[00:07:42:10 – 00:07:48:03]
some tremors leading up to the big quake and then certainly tremors afterwards. But
[00:07:48:03 – 00:08:05:08]
it’s not like a weather event. It’s not even like a fire-raging trees forest fire that’s coming barreling towards your house, or even a lava spill. Hang on, we’ve got Wayne coming in.
[00:08:05:08 – 00:08:06:26]
Are you there, Wayne?
[00:08:06:26 – 00:08:11:16]
Wayne just called in on Skype and I’m just seeing if I can get a hold of him here.
[00:08:11:16 – 00:08:12:10]
Hang
[00:08:12:10 – 00:08:14:16]
on a second, Wayne. Let me just
[00:08:14:16 – 00:08:18:28]
make some adjustments here and make sure I have this thing set up properly.
[00:08:18:28 – 00:08:21:08]
I had made some changes to it.
[00:08:21:08 – 00:08:23:08]
Yep, it looks like it should be fine.
[00:08:23:08 – 00:08:24:28]
You able to hear me, Wayne?
[00:08:24:28 – 00:08:31:10]
Hello, Tony. Hey, there we go. Yeah, it was a little misconfiguration on my side. I had recently moved the equipment
[00:08:31:10 – 00:08:39:21]
and wasn’t able to I didn’t test it didn’t anticipate a Skype call tonight, especially with all that was going on over there with you.
[00:08:39:21 – 00:08:48:15]
I just quickly thought, well, how will KED-01 that’s been looked after, like you said, it’s kind of good to unwind for a bit. So yeah, what a chat to you is. I’ve had to mine off things.
[00:08:48:15 – 00:08:57:21]
Well, you know, you sound good. You sound a lot better than what I thought you would with all the lack of sleep. And I’m sure the worry that you’ve been going through with wondering what’s coming up next.
[00:08:57:21 – 00:09:09:12]
I’ve caught up with my brother today and delivered him some water. You know, I know all of my rest of my family is safe. I’ve got one sister who’s actually out of Christchurch. My brother who a few of the boys met last night on chat,
[00:09:09:12 – 00:09:30:26]
she’s got all her family here, immediate family here. We know everyone we know and love is safe. So we’re pretty happy. We’re pretty sad about other stuff, but we’re pretty happy about that. Well, you’re certainly very fortunate compared to a lot of the people there in Christchurch. And, you know, that’s a lot to be thankful for. I know it’s a hard thing to do right now, but
[00:09:30:26 – 00:09:31:13]
your family is safe.
[00:09:33:07 – 00:09:46:12]
Regardless of the concern that you may have about what’s coming, you know, it may be over. I don’t know. I know that’s not what they’re predicting. But at least you made it through and everybody’s good.
[00:09:46:12 – 00:09:59:13]
Yeah, we got a lot to be thankful for. We got a reef, you know, reef over our head. We got food. We got water. We got power. There’s thousands and thousands here, haven’t we? Well, that’s amazing. I didn’t realize that you had all the basic necessities.
[00:09:59:13 – 00:10:03:11]
Yeah, we’re really lucky out here. But, you know, it’s about you going
[00:10:03:11 – 00:10:07:19]
five minutes up the road and then there’s that rung now to power and you see damage.
[00:10:08:19 – 00:10:21:22]
Well, you certainly picked a good place to live. I bet you had no idea that anything like this was going to come about. Now, I know that we’ve talked about this before, but I just want to, since I have you here, I thought I would just ask again since we’re live.
[00:10:23:03 – 00:10:27:22]
This is not normal for New Zealand to have quakes like this.
[00:10:27:22 – 00:10:39:11]
No, I haven’t felt, I’d be lucky if I felt like five or six. We weren’t in my small entire life. I’m like 45, 50 majority of my life. And now, we just,
[00:10:39:11 – 00:10:40:28]
it wasn’t expected.
[00:10:40:28 – 00:10:54:13]
It’s not renowned for earthquakes, Christchurch, New Zealand, and so we do get them, but little like twos and ones, you know, every country gets little ones, I think. Sure, sure. I’ve been told we’ve had them here in Texas. I’ve never felt one.
[00:10:54:13 – 00:10:57:06]
This one’s destroyed Christchurch, mate. She’s
[00:10:57:06 – 00:11:06:17]
a country, and a little town’s talking about just bulldozing the whole CDB area, the Central District. They’ve got
[00:11:06:17 – 00:11:13:27]
buildings just waiting to fall over, but we’ve got a lot of international help here now. You guys are here now, Australia, Japan, Italy.
[00:11:13:27 – 00:11:19:26]
Numerous countries are flying over and helping looking for people, so that’s really incredible, that.
[00:11:19:26 – 00:11:33:24]
That’s great. And I’m always very proud of the United States whenever we get involved in things like this. And, you know, that’s one of the countries that is always involved in the help and the cleanup around the world. It’s
[00:11:33:24 – 00:11:46:29]
still a rescue operation in town. That’s what they’re concentrating on. People are surviving with water tanks in the suburbs, and like warehousing people, a lot of that’s helping. It’s still a rescue recovery in town at the moment. They’re looking for people trapped.
[00:11:46:29 – 00:12:02:00]
Are they having any luck finding people? They found another one today. They pulled 120 out. They’ve confirmed semi-60. There’s about 300 missing, I think. Wow, 120. I like that figure. That’s wonderful.
[00:12:02:00 – 00:12:18:15]
Anymore from now will be a miracle. But, like, I don’t know if you’ve ever geegled Christchurch where we got out. They’re called the Port Hills in a park called Subna. They’ve found some people over there being killed by rocks. It’s been rock falls as well. So they’re discovering
[00:12:18:15 – 00:12:20:06]
bad bits all the time, if you get what I’ve made. Right.
[00:12:20:06 – 00:12:29:15]
Well, I certainly hope that they’re able to… I know it doesn’t sound like it’s going to be very good news for the 300 that are missing, but I’m hoping that, against hope, that that will be…
[00:12:29:15 – 00:12:49:05]
I’ll be wrong in my assumption there. There’s always a miracle out of, you know, if they just pull one person out in a couple of three days, there’s always a miracle that these kind of disasters. There always seems to be something like that, and that kind of lifts people’s spirits. We’re going to lose a lot, but if you get what I mean, that one-way miracle lifts a lot of spirits. Exactly. Well, it gives everybody hope. And I think that,
[00:12:49:05 – 00:13:01:05]
you know, the human condition, the survival instinct, it means a lot. And if that one person could do it, maybe there’s more. Exactly. Rene Argunard asked if you still have water.
[00:13:01:05 – 00:13:03:07]
Yeah, we…
[00:13:03:07 – 00:13:15:18]
60% has power now. They’re really good doing the infrastructure. This is out of suburbs. 80% is still without water. While we’re out at home here, we’ve got water and electricity.
[00:13:15:18 – 00:13:18:00]
So how are you doing on food?
[00:13:19:02 – 00:13:29:22]
We traveled to another little town about 40 minutes away and got some food. Took my partner Bridget about three or four hours. They’re actually sitting at a service station and waiting to get petrol.
[00:13:29:22 – 00:13:35:04]
I got up really early this morning to fill the jeep up on Taley, filling the jeep. We’ve got to be somewhere I can go.
[00:13:35:04 – 00:13:40:18]
We’ve got another car sorted out for my brother-in-law, so they can be mobile tomorrow.
[00:13:40:18 – 00:13:44:23]
And we just wait to get back, and we’ll go back later on tonight and join another queue and get petrol on that one.
[00:13:44:23 – 00:14:02:07]
Yeah, it’s not fun. The only thing I have to compare it to is when we had Hurricane Ike and the hurricane before that that we were threatened with. It was not pleasant. And that was only the threat of a disaster that wasn’t an actual disaster.
[00:14:02:07 – 00:14:10:07]
You’d be very, very safe. People will do crazy things when they get concerned for their
[00:14:10:07 – 00:14:26:00]
livelihood. I mean, not the livelihood, their lives. It was the third earthquake with a mission. I went and got my mother-in-law out. I was riding through like two foot of water, and the roads had disappeared.
[00:14:27:00 – 00:14:38:29]
You see the photo of that car disappeared on the road. You couldn’t see those holes. They were just like suckles. So that was quite challenging driving to see where the road was. I was on the footpath half the time, churning up mud.
[00:14:38:29 – 00:14:45:07]
I picked up an elderly couple who were straggling in water and dropped them a couple of miles down the road to where it was dry.
[00:14:45:07 – 00:15:00:12]
Another lady was sitting in the middle of the road in a little car, just hysterical crying. We carried her out and someone drove her car and carried on. Finally got my mother-in-law out. Twenty-month drive took on two, two and a half hours. Then it was dark and it was raining, so the trip back was quite exciting too.
[00:15:00:12 – 00:15:02:21]
And you were doing all this in the Jeep, right?
[00:15:02:21 – 00:15:23:14]
Yep. Love the Jeep. This is what I’m telling you, man. I mean, I went through this stuff with the hurricane, the threat of the hurricane, I should say. And I was sitting here with a stock four-wheel drive, and I said, “No way. I am not going to have a four-wheel drive. It’s not ready to take me and my family out of harm’s way.”
[00:15:23:14 – 00:15:35:04]
And obviously this couldn’t get you out of harm’s way, but this is getting you in and around, and it’s certainly allowing you to navigate through this disaster area and help people at the same time.
[00:15:35:04 – 00:15:58:13]
I was helping. I was getting looks at people going, “No. Wish we could do that kind of thing.” I actually had some people who started following me, some officials in City Care Car, and they were following me real slowly, and I thought, “Is that going to get stuck?” And they turned around when I went over a bridge, and there was, I’d say, a drop of weather bridge to the road meets. I just ploughed over there to my Jeep. They turned around at that stage and headed back.
[00:15:58:13 – 00:16:04:13]
I thought that was quite funny. I bet you’re very happy that you have that 12,000-pound winch on your rig now.
[00:16:04:13 – 00:16:36:08]
Yeah, I haven’t had to pull anything out. They’re still wanting us to help, but they’re still doing the stuff in town. Once they give us the okay and there’s meeting points, being the guy I work with, we’re just going to fill our work huts up, and we’re just going to head to where we’ve been told and start digging this. There’s a lot of liquidation where the water and sand comes up, and it’s blocked roads and people’s footpaths, and it gets terminated and turns to dust, and people get sick. That’s what we’ve got to get rid of, so that’s what we’ll be concentrating on.
[00:16:36:08 – 00:16:47:05]
But still, having the winch, I’m sure, is a great feeling since you know that if you get yourself into a situation, you’re probably going to be able to get yourself out.
[00:16:47:05 – 00:17:10:18]
I did turn down a side road, and I thought, “Oh, this could be tricky.” This was heading back at night to pick up the brother-in-law. I must have made two trips on the day of the earthquake, and I thought it’d be a quicker way to get there, and it wasn’t. There was cars just stuck and mud and blown out way past their tyres. So I thought, “Well, if I get stuck, I can always winch to a land post, pull up, and carry on further if you get what I mean.” So yeah, that was peace of mind.
[00:17:10:18 – 00:17:31:18]
Yeah, and this is exactly the reason why I’ve started into a hobby, lifting my Jeep. But this is exactly the reason why I’m doing the things to my Jeep, is because I don’t want to be in a disaster and not be ready. I do not want to be that close to the road and get myself in a situation that I can’t get myself out of.
[00:17:31:18 – 00:17:36:15]
Some of the streets I went down, I went and got down in an honorary car. It was crazy what I was doing.
[00:17:36:15 – 00:17:53:03]
Just to get to my mother-in-law’s place. There wasn’t one. There were big units, dresses, drawers, and they had all fallen. I was lifting them up, looking for it, because we hadn’t been in touch with it. After about five minutes, two houses down the road, they must have heard me banging and yelling.
[00:17:53:03 – 00:17:56:16]
I sent photos roughly of that through, but there wasn’t
[00:17:56:16 – 00:18:07:18]
patches of walls. There was a big china cabinet where you have all your plates and stuff in. They were just buried through walls, TVs down. That was quite freaky when I first walked into that room. But we found it. We’re all good.
[00:18:09:04 – 00:18:14:10]
So your wife was in a high-rise building whenever the quake hit, wasn’t she?
[00:18:14:10 – 00:18:21:04]
Yes, she had a bad time of it. I was actually home with Jordan, so I was really lucky. That’s our boy.
[00:18:21:04 – 00:18:27:07]
We just stood in the middle of the road, hugging each other. It was really frightening, this one. Violent. Man, it was violent.
[00:18:29:02 – 00:18:29:29]
She was in town.
[00:18:29:29 – 00:18:43:23]
Obviously, I wanted to be in there and see if I could find her, but Common Sense said stay here. About two hours later, I think we got a text from a strange number, and as soon as I got a text on you, she was alright. What they did was
[00:18:43:23 – 00:18:56:08]
put everyone in groups. You live in that part, north, south, east, west, whatever. They’d hear car and everything store in town. They just shuttled everyone out, group by group.
[00:18:56:08 – 00:19:04:05]
But their building was shaking and plaster and stuff was falling down when they were running down the stairways. Then when she got outside,
[00:19:04:05 – 00:19:07:01]
by the time
[00:19:07:01 – 00:19:13:28]
she’d been able to get away, she’d seen some really horrible sights, like some bad belly hurt people. She came home. She was pretty shocked up.
[00:19:15:07 – 00:19:24:06]
I went over to my brother this morning. He lives out by the ocean. We had a wee aftershock and she just looked at me and said, “Can we please go home?” She’s pretty shocked up as the partner of the wife.
[00:19:26:09 – 00:19:30:02]
She’s pretty tough. I just can’t imagine.
[00:19:30:02 – 00:19:35:17]
Everything’s normal and then the ground starts shaking. There’s nothing you can do. There’s no place to stop.
[00:19:35:17 – 00:19:43:06]
I was sitting on the computer about to log into this, I think, to the site. It just went spaying. This was just
[00:19:43:06 – 00:19:43:28]
one o’clock
[00:19:43:28 – 00:19:47:14]
in the afternoon and then Tuesday afternoon. We had that big one
[00:19:47:14 – 00:19:54:06]
September and we thought, “It’s all good. Out of the blue.” This one is flat enough.
[00:19:54:06 – 00:20:15:27]
I’m hoping this one isn’t as… I’m hoping this is the worst it is. I’m hoping there’s not going to be anything worse than this. I’m hoping this has been the build up with all these minor quakes that you’ve been having since September. I hope this is it. This one was so shallow and not as close to the city. That’s why it’s caused more damage. I know you work in miles, but it was only 5 kilometers deep
[00:20:15:27 – 00:20:22:11]
from the surface. That’s what’s done all the damage. I think that’s only 3.5 miles or something and it’s been real measured.
[00:20:22:11 – 00:20:42:08]
All those links I’ve put up on that post, that Christchurch earthquake post, if you keep hitting those, they get updated too. If you don’t hear from me for a few days or if I don’t know what I’m doing, if you’re curious, they actually update or they’ll go to the home page from those links. They’ll update. I’ve put some new photos up and you can see some
[00:20:42:08 – 00:21:11:15]
what has done to the city center and the other suburbs. I’ve been waiting for a video. They’ve had a chopper flying over in that town, changing how much water and mud’s in the streets and whatnot. I’ll flick that up when I find it. I was going to ask you about this. I did watch some of the looked at the video or was reading something on one of the links that you had posted on XJ talk and a large part of the glacier came off and fell into the water. Is that what’s causing the flooding?
[00:21:12:15 – 00:21:23:16]
No, that’s 100 miles away. That’s incredible looking thing though. It’s actually quite a beautiful photo of that thing floating in the lake.
[00:21:25:17 – 00:21:26:04]
What is it?
[00:21:26:04 – 00:21:35:07]
It’s a liquidation. It just gets sand and it just gets forced out of the earth and water, plus your burst water pipes and all that.
[00:21:35:07 – 00:21:41:25]
We’re a low line city anyway. We’re built on swamp in the 1800s. That causes a lot of problems I think.
[00:21:41:25 – 00:21:46:21]
It drains after a few days but it’s just bizarre. There’s just big piles of sand everywhere
[00:21:46:21 – 00:21:56:19]
and mud. Then it clogs everything up. It’s quite bizarre stuff. Yeah, I was thinking liquid faction was the… Thanks. Well you don’t have trouble saying that word, don’t you? Thank you.
[00:21:58:11 – 00:22:00:27]
Yeah, liquid faction. I have problems saying a lot of words.
[00:22:02:12 – 00:22:58:21]
I’m very careful not to say it. I’m very careful not to say it soon. We’re gym singing to say it because I’m pretty much on edge but I’m being real careful here. I think Jim’s probably already said it several times while we were saying it. You’re mispronouncing that. While we’re on that subject, thanks guys for all the messages and everything you’ve seen. Thanks to Scott, Jim, and not sure you want to be brought in or the other guys who were chatting to my partner, she felt really good after that last night and that really helped. I just appreciate it. Thank you. That’s great. That’s wonderful to hear. I’m glad that we can help. We’re just a bunch of jeepers playing around. Some of us are probably too old to be doing this stuff, playing around with jeeps. In the midst of all this, we’re in the middle of a catastrophe in New Zealand and we’re actually able to help out, if not directly, indirectly. I just took a reminder for everything for half hour. She got off and was smiling, ain’t seen everything for a couple of days. That was really cool guys. I really appreciate that.
[00:23:00:08 – 00:23:03:21]
Dalton. Dalton, you’re not old. Dalton says old. Us, never.
[00:23:05:02 – 00:23:07:15]
Old hardcore. How you doing fella?
[00:23:09:18 – 00:23:15:00]
Let’s see. Oh yeah, Rene Arganard says, “Is she going to join XJ Talk?”
[00:23:16:26 – 00:23:18:19]
We got one girl on the a-pank, that’s enough.
[00:23:20:11 – 00:23:33:29]
Yeah, there was some discussion in the chat about her joining XJ Talk and then I think that was, “Well, Wayne’s going to get in trouble and all of Wayne’s fun will be gone then.” Well, XJ Talk, that’s my happy place. That’s where I hide.
[00:23:36:24 – 00:23:43:25]
That’s what, it’d be my last domain taken over. I can’t even hear. That’s exactly what I was thinking, was, you know,
[00:23:43:25 – 00:23:47:20]
we all know how to act, but sometimes we like to act like we were born.
[00:23:49:08 – 00:23:59:22]
Speaking of domains and whatnot, Big Jim posted the link to a local TV station where you had done an interview, a phone interview,
[00:23:59:22 – 00:24:01:18]
with Sherman Chow.
[00:24:02:20 – 00:24:06:00]
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, they later got the dinner name.
[00:24:07:03 – 00:24:09:29]
Exactly, the buffet. And
[00:24:09:29 – 00:24:41:10]
I thought it was pretty cool. I was watching the segment and of course you were in just a very small part of it at the end, but they didn’t mention the XJTalk.com site by name, but they did show your post that you had put on there. And briefly the XJTalk logo was shown. So it only required a disaster of epic proportions to get some, about half a second of airtime, television airtime for XJTalk and I just wanted to thank you.
[00:24:41:10 – 00:24:45:23]
I was just wondering, we have been, Jim and Rini, who you organize,
[00:24:45:23 – 00:24:49:16]
where are you going to pay us in the funds to? What do you call it?
[00:24:51:09 – 00:24:52:18]
We always send a bill, Tony.
[00:24:55:19 – 00:24:59:17]
So when I missed all this, the important thing was that XJTalk.com got TV time.
[00:25:01:06 – 00:25:20:01]
I did see the link and I think it’s a photo of that squash bus almost. I think you can just see the yellow, the XJTalk.com. Did you mention it by name, didn’t you? I think she said a Houston based website and they actually said that you were a moderator on the website, which I thought was very cool.
[00:25:21:06 – 00:25:27:21]
She ran out of the blue and I was like 8.30 in the morning and I hadn’t slept. And I honestly thought to myself, “How
[00:25:27:21 – 00:25:33:16]
was having me on here?” And I looked at the phone number and
[00:25:33:16 – 00:25:39:23]
then she ran back on the landline and there’s about 1000 phone numbers and you know numbers and you know when you can see the number ringing.
[00:25:39:23 – 00:26:03:24]
And yeah, the line will probably cut out. I’m pretty busy but yeah, just a few quick things I answered. It was kind of cool actually. How was she? Was she nice? She was really, really nice. She’s been on channel 11, the local CBS affiliate here in Houston for many, many years. Diane thinks you can understand me half the time.
[00:26:05:12 – 00:26:09:05]
None of us can, Wayne. You speak proper English.
[00:26:10:11 – 00:26:12:18]
I think she was hitting on me beer. What are you ringing about that, mate?
[00:26:14:21 – 00:26:14:22]
Did
[00:26:14:22 – 00:26:16:09]
you hear that bear? She was hitting on him.
[00:26:16:09 – 00:26:19:03]
Just reading the chat room here.
[00:26:20:11 – 00:26:29:10]
I can’t see now. I’m just staying on Skype so I don’t fall off. No, no, no, I understand. I was just reading through here so I didn’t have some, so people wouldn’t be wondering why there was silence.
[00:26:29:10 – 00:26:34:01]
Do any of you guys have anything, any questions for Wayne while we have him here live?
[00:26:34:01 – 00:26:38:18]
Bear says, “Dad getting hit on by Asian women.”
[00:26:40:17 – 00:26:41:25]
Only if she’s a bit short of you.
[00:26:41:25 – 00:26:45:05]
Rene would like to know if you’re okay.
[00:26:45:05 – 00:26:49:24]
Yeah, we’re okay. It’s just a waiting game now. Rene, we
[00:26:49:24 – 00:26:58:24]
feel helpless, but it’s just a waiting game now. We just wait till the authorities tell us what to do. We sensible. We’ll stay off the roads unless we have to, which we’d be nice to do.
[00:27:00:07 – 00:27:04:10]
I’ve got my mobile, one of my family texts me, “I’ll be away.” They’ve all got my numbers.
[00:27:05:15 – 00:27:10:08]
Friends are the same thing. If they need a hand, they’ll know I’ll be there straight away. I’m just sitting around waiting.
[00:27:12:20 – 00:27:16:18]
Paul in Florida, Punisher72 says, “Yeah, come move to the US.”
[00:27:16:18 – 00:27:24:16]
Yeah, California’s quite, isn’t it? Yeah, I think I would disown you if you moved to California.
[00:27:25:22 – 00:27:29:01]
That shakes just as bad. Exactly, but it would be for more than one reason.
[00:27:29:01 – 00:27:43:15]
We’re going to sit down in a week or two weeks in time and wait till we get our mother-in-law and everything back to their house after running the power. I think we will take off for a couple of weeks or something. If I get my family out, they’ll go off.
[00:27:43:15 – 00:27:49:10]
Farman Ray here in Livingston, Texas says, “Hang in there, Wayne.”
[00:27:49:10 – 00:27:50:28]
Cheers, Ray. Appreciate it, mate.
[00:27:50:28 – 00:28:01:22]
I was just in the middle of playing some of these messages, and now that you’re here, you can listen to them live. Let me let you hear this one from 4×4 Dalton Bear.
[00:28:01:22 – 00:28:10:29]
Hey, this is 4×4 Dalton from Virginia. Just calling to tell Wayne. Glad he’s all right. I’m glad his family’s okay. Hope everything works out for him.
[00:28:10:29 – 00:28:12:01]
Good luck, y’all.
[00:28:12:01 – 00:28:34:14]
I got another one here from Mark, Payless4x4. Hey, Wayne. This is Mark, Payless 4-wheel drive here in Chico, Northern California. I just wanted to say I’m glad to hear you guys are okay. If there’s anything we can do for you, give us a holler. I’d be happy to help any way we can. Other than that, stay strong, and we’ll be praying for you. Take care now. Bye.
[00:28:34:14 – 00:28:39:06]
That all means a lot, though. These kind of messages means a lot. I did
[00:28:39:06 – 00:28:46:25]
Warren, who’s on the site, CJ4. He’s building the Marinda Jeep thing. He pops in there, and again, he’s got his goal. I got a text from him yesterday.
[00:28:46:25 – 00:28:53:15]
My mate, where that red XJ is, his workshop got destroyed. It’s flat, apparently, but they got out alive, so that’s the main thing.
[00:28:53:15 – 00:29:01:18]
That’s too bad. I hate to hear that, but yeah, I mean, if you’re alive, you can continue and do something hopefully better.
[00:29:01:18 – 00:29:34:24]
You can start again. Warren’s got his goal. I think Steve and Warren talk a fair bit about the Mighty Might and his certain Jeeps. If you’re listening, Warren’s got his goal, mate. Excellent. I’ll make sure I get that up on the site as well. We have one more message here from Kurt Weldman from XJTalk.com. This is Kurt or Weldman. I just wanted to call Colleen and Bridget that hope things get better, and I’m sure the whole group here
[00:29:34:24 – 00:29:39:27]
will agree with me, and I’ll send you love and hope everything turns out good for you. I
[00:29:39:27 – 00:29:56:25]
think this is the one that was playing whenever you called. This one’s from Big Jim 350. It is clean. Yeah, it’s Big Jim 350. I just wanted to tell Wayne that we’re all praying for him over here and hoping everything goes well.
[00:29:58:04 – 00:30:05:06]
Just letting you Wayne know that if you need anything, then we’ll be happy to help you as much as we can.
[00:30:05:06 – 00:30:06:12]
Talk to you later, buddy.
[00:30:06:12 – 00:30:37:13]
was a last-minute thought that we had, and that was all that we were able to get in before showtime. But I know that there’s been lots of people reading your posts and very happy that you were able to communicate with us so far away and through so much devastation. It’s been a blessing for us because I know several of us were very concerned from the 7.1 hit, and we were very happy that we were able to continue to communicate with you.
[00:30:40:05 – 00:30:55:04]
That first one, on September, it feels like years ago, now after this one, I know what I’ve seen and what’s happened. That first one just seemed like one of those mild aftershocks we get. It’s just so bizarre. So, yeah, bizarre as well, I think.
[00:30:55:04 – 00:31:01:29]
Well, certainly you’ve experienced something that few people will experience in their lifetime, and I’m sure once is enough.
[00:31:03:05 – 00:31:08:16]
Yeah, well, this is where we’re in the National Disaster Zone at the moment.
[00:31:08:16 – 00:31:20:04]
What else did they know that the Army’s in? They happened to have a couple of Navy boats in the port at the moment, so they’ve opened their boats up. 60% of the buildings in the port area got destroyed.
[00:31:20:04 – 00:31:21:22]
So, we
[00:31:21:22 – 00:31:30:07]
were lucky in some places there was kind of things wrapped up. Some of these people got killed where builders and the likes were repairing the damage from the first one,
[00:31:30:07 – 00:31:45:20]
which is just crazy if you think about it. That’s horrible. So, they were actually involved in repairing the damaged buildings from the 7.1, and they were killed while they were doing the repairs during the 6.3.
[00:31:45:20 – 00:32:03:28]
Yep, there were always stories coming out. The guys who were walking down the road after it happened, and they seen a pushbike and some rubble, and they thought, “Well, chances are won’t.” And they did find a deceased person, and that’s just yuck if you ask me. They had to look, if you get what I
[00:32:03:28 – 00:32:28:07]
To see if the person was alive or whatever. But it happens at every disaster. We’ll be happy. We light it into the tunnel. You’re just going to be positive. Yeah, and there are so many more people that are alive than those that have passed away. I know that it’s very concerning because you see those people and you think, “That could have been me.” But the point is, it wasn’t you.
[00:32:29:05 – 00:32:59:27]
We’re going to look after who’s alive now. Right, and chances are very good that it won’t be you or your family. Because if you look at it from a percentage standpoint, very, very few people were killed in the total population. So, all in all, it’s still very lucky. I know it’s hard to look at it that way, especially if it’s a loved one or a friend. I was laughing a few minutes ago because Fireman Ray says on the chat room, “Tell Wayne I posted a picture of the 50-piece nugget meal for him.”
[00:33:00:28 – 00:33:03:09]
Finally! Just before all this happened.
[00:33:05:01 – 00:33:24:17]
I have to have a look at that because that blew me away. Geez, 50! And it had one of those little, little mustic ones. Mustic pecs. I think it was the night before Super Bowl, so like on a Friday night, my wife went and got a 50-piece McNugget for us. That was for the five of us.
[00:33:24:17 – 00:33:26:26]
I like them things.
[00:33:28:27 – 00:33:35:10]
I remember one time we went and it was back and I like it better whenever you got the bucket. I don’t know if you guys have bucket of chicken over there like they used to sell.
[00:33:35:10 – 00:33:46:16]
Yeah, the kennels got that. Yeah, exactly. But they used to sell it in a big bucket like that and I really liked that. I mean, just the fat redneck in me just likes the idea of a bucket of nuggets.
[00:33:47:20 – 00:33:49:26]
Sounds good too. Yeah, a bucket of nuggets.
[00:33:52:29 – 00:34:39:25]
I think my stepson was the one that actually went to get it and I said, “Michael, whenever you go, tell him that you want 20, 25 or no.” Maybe it was more than that because I think I told him 100 of the sweet and sour sauce because, you know, it wasn’t 100. I guess it was like 20 or 30 of them because, you know, it’s 50 nuggets and you don’t want to just eat a nugget. You want some stuff on it. I love their mustard stuff. They’ve mustard sauce, man. Yeah, that’s good too. But anyway, he came back with literally 100 of those, a mixture of the buffalo, the sweet and sour. It was the sauces, there was more sauces than there were, you know, physical size, volume was more sauce than there was nuggets. It was great.
[00:34:39:25 – 00:34:50:08]
Oh, that’s good. They don’t do that anymore. I think that somebody got found out that that happened and they just, they don’t do it. You know, you’re lucky if you get very mean at all now.
[00:34:50:08 – 00:34:57:18]
Just reading the chat room here, fat redneck who’s calling me. That was big Jim 350. Jim, you’re not fat. You’re just big bound.
[00:34:57:18 – 00:35:00:20]
He’s just big bind. He’s chunky. There’s a
[00:35:00:20 – 00:35:01:26]
waiting to get out.
[00:35:05:28 – 00:35:05:29]
I
[00:35:05:29 – 00:35:08:05]
was all good.
[00:35:08:05 – 00:35:14:22]
Dalton four by four says, LOL Jim, I was thinking the same thing.
[00:35:14:22 – 00:35:18:20]
Brothers, eh?
[00:35:18:20 – 00:35:21:01]
Just looking here, we’ve got
[00:35:22:01 – 00:35:25:23]
see if anybody’s in the joint. No, same group.
[00:35:26:23 – 00:35:35:27]
Well, Wayne, I am really tickled that you were able to call in into the show. I would much rather talk to you live than listen to the interview, although it is a good interview.
[00:35:36:27 – 00:36:09:25]
This is good because like I said, it’s taken me mind off things for 15, 20 minutes, mate. You guys always get on here and get a laugh, eh? Even though it gets it out of me, my humor comes out when I type it away and I’m like, “Oh, man, it’s kind of cool.” Yeah, you sound like your old self. I remember when I had my wife sitting here watching that interview that you, the brief interview you did with Sherman Chow, I said, you know, that doesn’t sound like Wayne. His voice isn’t usually that deep and that doesn’t go that slow. You’re actually able to understand what he’s saying. He’s usually talking faster and a higher pitch.
[00:36:09:25 – 00:36:12:29]
So I could tell you we’re stressed and down.
[00:36:12:29 – 00:36:22:12]
Now we’ll get some sleep later and I ate my first meal last night too, so that was pretty good. So have you been having a lot of aftershocks?
[00:36:22:12 – 00:36:29:08]
Yes, just like September, mate. Tanya, you just, you hear them, you rumble, you race.
[00:36:29:08 – 00:37:10:19]
Some of you don’t feel, some of you feel, some of you think, “Oh, here we go.” We had a good couple during the night. I was awake anyway. I got up to check and they’d woken everyone up, so you know, just say, “It’s all cool. We’re all cool and everyone just falls back to sleep.” And you just go back to what you’re doing. Well, I don’t want to ask you too personal a question. I think that we’ve talked about this in chat or something maybe before the interview last time. But let’s say that you’re a man in New Zealand and you’re with your wife or your girlfriend. Would a person try to use a trimmer to make the lovemaking a little more like you made the earth move for me?
[00:37:10:19 – 00:37:14:04]
I don’t need that, mate. I already got the t-shirt, Tony. Trust me, mate.
[00:37:16:10 – 00:37:22:11]
The thing is, it’s not New Zealand. It’s just crosshairs. They’re feeling it now they’re subbies, but
[00:37:22:11 – 00:37:26:19]
it’s just, it’s one little town that’s getting smashed. It’s like
[00:37:26:19 – 00:37:41:08]
New Zealand, the rest of New Zealand is as good as gold. That’s interesting. I didn’t realize that. I mean, quite often when you see things on the news, especially, and of course, no offense, but New Zealand is a real small place even compared to Texas.
[00:37:41:08 – 00:38:19:05]
We’re tiny. Yeah, so I’m thinking that it’s affecting the entire island. And to understand it’s just, what is it, like a 40 mile radius around Christchurch? No, it’s not bigger than you got your wee little suburbs, you know, like where I am and whatnot. It’s just, yeah, if you look on that last link I put up, there’s some photos. And through the photos, someone’s taken a photo of what I call the Port Hills and it’s just after the earthquake and there’s just a cloud of dust over the wee city. If you find that picture, and that is so surreal, that picture is quite freaky. And one of a
[00:38:19:05 – 00:38:41:17]
lot of people who do travel, we’re in a renowned for a sense of our big cathedral in town. That’s home to me when I see that. It’s just a pile of rubble. That’s been there for, since Christchurch was here kind of thing. Yeah, I think they were saying on the news it was there for 130 years, or it’s been there 130 years. Yeah, that’s right. She did mention it, the dinner pack lady, I can’t say her name. Sherman Chow?
[00:38:42:21 – 00:39:14:00]
I want to say Chow. She did mention the cathedral, actually. That was very sad to see because I mean, I’m almost sad that I was using Google Earth to view your city. I think one of the conversations that we had on Skype was I just couldn’t believe how beautiful the city is. There’s so many architectural, I don’t want to say wonders, but it was very, very nice to see. And that church certainly was a centerpiece for the city.
[00:39:14:00 – 00:39:19:28]
I think there’s 22 people in there too. It’s quite a bit. That’s where they sit on
[00:39:19:28 – 00:39:20:28]
one of the updates no longer ago.
[00:39:20:28 – 00:39:26:27]
As in they’ll be deceased. And we think most of those will well. We’ll be tourists.
[00:39:26:27 – 00:39:39:15]
In the CTV, a certain building in town which they’ve given up on, they don’t think anyone will be alive in there anymore. There’s an international English class in there and that will be full of Japanese people, I think.
[00:39:40:23 – 00:39:44:21]
That’s why they’ve got the Japanese rescue people specialising on that one.
[00:39:45:27 – 00:39:49:07]
So this has all touched the world in one way or another, it seems to say.
[00:39:49:07 – 00:40:01:11]
I think I mentioned it on the site and in chat. I may have mentioned it to you. I find it very personally disturbing that
[00:40:01:11 – 00:40:03:01]
the news coverage
[00:40:03:01 – 00:40:17:06]
the quake that you had in September and all the thousands of aftershocks that you’ve had since then wasn’t anything like what it’s been since people died. It required people to die.
[00:40:17:06 – 00:40:19:22]
In that town before that was coverage.
[00:40:19:22 – 00:40:27:06]
think we were chatting about that tiny. I remember chatting, yeah. That’s crazy, isn’t it?
[00:40:27:06 – 00:40:52:14]
I mean, I understand ratings. I understand ratings, but it’s important to somebody. It’s certainly important to you guys. And it’s been important to me. And I feel that with all your friends here on XJTalk that it’s been important to them. And we would certainly like to have known more about it. And I don’t know why. I don’t watch some of the other like MSNBC and CNN, but I do watch Fox News. And I don’t know why Fox News wasn’t covering that.
[00:40:52:14 – 00:40:53:17]
It’s just,
[00:40:53:17 – 00:41:29:01]
I couldn’t con answer that. We’re only a small little country down here. Most of us think we’re connected to Australia. And it’s actually a fear. How many of you have actually had news in New Zealand or where New Zealand was before I joined the site? Don’t be. I don’t want to do a poll on that one day when I’m feeling better. Yeah, that’s probably true. Now, I’ve been an amateur radio operator since I was 16 years old. And I’ve actually spoke with people in New Zealand from a long time ago in Australia. So I kind of learned my world geography to simply buy how far am I talking to.
[00:41:29:01 – 00:41:42:19]
So that was always a lot of fun for me. Yeah, I used to talk to someone in New Zealand in Christchurch here as well. He kind of knew. He did say something to that man while about that a while back. Him and his wife used to correspond with someone from Christchurch years ago.
[00:41:42:19 – 00:41:44:18]
And so he knows about those Tim Tams.
[00:41:44:18 – 00:41:49:16]
Those biscuits, well, I’m meant to be sending them, but yeah, okay. They’ll be squashed now, Jimbo. Yeah.
[00:41:49:16 – 00:42:05:13]
And Brian says the feed is pausing. Punisher says you froze. Rini says, oh, okay. So Rini says it did lock up on. Did it lock up anyone besides me? Yeah, me too. Looks like chat’s still going, guys.
[00:42:05:13 – 00:42:10:06]
Are you able to, is the feed still going for you now? Or is it back going, I should say?
[00:42:10:06 – 00:42:33:13]
Nobody’s typing anything. So maybe it has froze for them. They might have froze up on them. I get that there and again on my one and it’s like, usually when it gets to quite a funny point or a good point and then it’ll freeze. And what time you get back there, you know, that was kind of hard. So listen to the recorded one. Oh yeah. Well, the good news is guys that it will be available. We’re recording all this. So you will be able to watch it
[00:42:33:13 – 00:42:50:14]
on the Ustream recording or YouTube or listen to it via the podcast. Hey Tony, this is why we’re at it. This is a good advertisement for Skype. I’m in New Zealand talking to you and we’re hearing each other really, really well. I think if they get a chance,
[00:42:50:14 – 00:42:53:08]
download Skype and we could correspond some more
[00:42:53:08 – 00:43:06:24]
with the other members if you get what I mean. Oh, absolutely. Guys, basically Wayne, what Wayne is saying here is load Skype. Get on Skype so that you can call him and talk to him and give you something to do. You
[00:43:06:24 – 00:43:19:15]
could talk to Jim and Brian can talk or we should actually get Shriek or Shriek because the other guys you live overseas, you know, we could get talking to them guys. It’d be really cool.
[00:43:20:22 – 00:43:30:11]
Yeah, exactly. We’re getting more and more international members and I think that’s great. Okay, they say it’s, I just typed in, is it working now? I’m getting a yeah and a yep.
[00:43:32:13 – 00:43:35:01]
One finger tiding from the read, the access would all be.
[00:43:36:22 – 00:43:40:13]
Yes, Paul, I do see you and stop doing that. Pull up your pants.
[00:43:40:13 – 00:43:44:14]
This isn’t Chatroulette.
[00:43:44:14 – 00:44:02:20]
Yeah, Wayne, if you really want to have something to do that will be just completely disgusting, get on Chatroulette because I think, what is it? Five out of 10 of the people that you’ll bring up on video chat are pleasuring themselves for your viewing enjoyment and it’s never a woman.
[00:44:04:23 – 00:44:15:28]
If you haven’t heard about Chatroulette, I mean, I don’t understand. I don’t understand what the thrill is. Yeah, he’s a moderator there, Rene. Goodbye.
[00:44:18:11 – 00:44:24:18]
No, you have to be a young man to keep doing that for hours. You’re not paying from that one.
[00:44:27:03 – 00:44:28:16]
Jim says he’s too shy.
[00:44:31:21 – 00:44:37:18]
He’s over. Yeah, he gets enough liquid courage in him. He’ll be okay. Although the equipment might not work.
[00:44:37:18 – 00:44:45:29]
Rene says not me and then he says bull and then he looks like a parent censored.
[00:44:49:27 – 00:44:55:14]
We were lucky here, too. We had rain for two days after the quake, but it’s really, really nice and warm out at the moment.
[00:44:55:14 – 00:45:09:09]
So that’s going to be helping people. Were you all expecting rain or do you think that was connected to the quake at all? It’s just really bizarre because the day before we were in the high 90, I think it was about 91 Fahrenheit. It was a really stinking hot day.
[00:45:09:09 – 00:45:13:14]
It was a cold and we had quake and we had
[00:45:13:14 – 00:45:16:28]
two days of rain, today’s beautiful rain coming tomorrow.
[00:45:16:28 – 00:45:34:26]
But we are in the funny season, it’s like summer to autumn at the moment, fall as you call it. It’s the season is just changing now like the leaves and they’re changing colour while you must be coming into spring. So we’re off-set, don’t leave when it comes to that. Well, you’re almost directly on the other side of the world from us.
[00:45:34:26 – 00:45:42:22]
I know, you should hear a shake. Do you not feel all that? Well, I would think all of New Zealand would have felt it.
[00:45:42:22 – 00:45:46:05]
I don’t understand how this stuff works.
[00:45:46:05 – 00:45:48:24]
I was going to ask you, how’s the house?
[00:45:48:24 – 00:46:06:22]
House is alright again. They haven’t really had a look at it. We’ve got a few more cracks and stuff. This one, like I said, threw more stuff around. We lost all our TVs and stuff again and threw more stuff off walls. We lost a lot of plates and crockley and stuff this time because it just
[00:46:06:22 – 00:46:09:01]
so much out of the
[00:46:09:01 – 00:46:22:20]
walls and knocked things over. We were in the lounge, I had a grab of a young fella who was getting out of the house. We were banging into the walls trying to get out of the house. It was just crazy. Then we got into the middle of the road because we had no power lines
[00:46:22:20 – 00:46:29:22]
or anything at the end of our driveway. We just stood there and hung out there. It must have gone for about 30 seconds I suppose.
[00:46:29:22 – 00:46:32:04]
It was crazy. They’re so scary. I
[00:46:32:04 – 00:46:36:22]
know my heart’s good because she was pounding and it didn’t collapse on me. So that’s a good thing I suppose.
[00:46:37:22 – 00:47:09:07]
I just can’t believe you had to go two hours not knowing if your wife was okay. That had to have been very difficult to stay there. That was real scary but the phone was beeping that many times. Other people finally getting hold of me and texting me. They were getting shakes as well. I finally got the text from here so that was really cool. I’m not sure I would have been able to stay. I know it’s exactly what you should do because you don’t know what you’re going to run into. She may make it back to the house and now you’re gone.
[00:47:10:07 – 00:47:19:19]
That’s why I was talking to a guy down the road here because we were checking in on each other at night. I said look mate, I want to go into town and he says you’d be able to stay here.
[00:47:20:22 – 00:47:24:17]
I listened to him and I’m glad I did because eventually she came home.
[00:47:24:17 – 00:47:29:02]
Punisher72 Paul in Florida says how’s the TV on the floor?
[00:47:29:02 – 00:47:38:04]
It’s still on the floor but it goes. We didn’t put it back up. That’s correct. It’s still goes. I would not put it back up that’s for sure.
[00:47:38:04 – 00:47:47:21]
We’ve always done it at my mother-in-law and her daughter’s house. We’ve just turned all the power gas and fuel supply off.
[00:47:47:21 – 00:48:02:00]
I picked up all the broken stuff, the glass and got all that out of the way. Whatever’s on the ground, I’ve left on the ground, whatever looks like it’s going to fall off, just placed on the ground. Just in case we get more big ones. That makes a lot of sense.
[00:48:04:21 – 00:48:05:26]
As I was saying, it’s pretty crazy times.
[00:48:07:01 – 00:48:16:03]
I believe you were telling me about your trip to your mother-in-law’s house that you had to use the Jeep to get there. What was it? It took you like two hours on a 20-minute trip?
[00:48:16:03 – 00:48:25:22]
Yeah, it took me a little over two. Probably a bit more on the way back because on the way back it was dark and on dark and there’s no lights, street lights, no electricity. The XJ’s have got
[00:48:25:22 – 00:48:33:05]
headlights at the best of times. These are the best of times. I just went real slow. It wasn’t a race.
[00:48:34:00 – 00:48:38:17]
Like I said, I can see it out the window now and it looks like it’s been wheeling. It’s covered in that much
[00:48:38:17 – 00:48:39:29]
crap.
[00:48:39:29 – 00:48:43:13]
Did you have any fun at all? Or was it just too nervous?
[00:48:46:04 – 00:48:55:06]
Don’t tell anyone, I was quite joined on it. See? I knew it was a bad question to ask but just the feeling of being able to go…
[00:48:56:08 – 00:49:05:07]
Any time you’ve got to put it on a four-wheel drive, you know how it’s a black thing. Exactly. And know that you’re going to get from point A to point B or at least have some confidence that you’re going to…
[00:49:06:21 – 00:49:32:14]
I’d be pretty busy batting myself on the back for having this silly hobby that allows me… It did feel good because my partner was home and I was going… I hadn’t had from the moment of the walk by then but it did feel good to help those elderly people. They had trouble getting in the car, the Jeep, the water’s pouring past the… your seals, some hundred wheels there. It felt good to get them in. They had trouble getting in and out but it’s just cool to help people. Exactly.
[00:49:33:14 – 00:49:44:13]
And the woman that was there being hysterical, crying, I mean, she’s going to remember you for the rest of your life and she’s going to remember that Jeep. She may not know what it is but she’ll remember it.
[00:49:44:13 – 00:49:53:29]
I just stopped in front of her, stopped the traffic, just put my hands on and we carried her over, mate. And then we moved her car, then I just jumped back in and carried on going. Stuff is, you go around me if you want. We can try
[00:49:53:29 – 00:50:08:21]
That’s just nice, you know? A lot of people helping people, it’s really cool. But see, this is just a good point to be made there at PACE to know how to put your Jeep in a four-wheel drive beer just in case things like this happen, mate. You want to go outside.
[00:50:10:13 – 00:50:27:29]
Bear, we need a video or something from you showing us that you know because we want to know that you’ll be safe in a situation like this. So we need a video or something, a certificate that’s signed off by somebody that knows how to put a Jeep in a four-wheel drive that you know how to do that. Can you work with us on that bear?
[00:50:27:29 – 00:50:29:09]
I
[00:50:29:09 – 00:50:31:24]
think Bear’s thinking about it.
[00:50:31:24 – 00:50:34:05]
The four-wheel drive lever, the one in the middle,
[00:50:34:05 – 00:50:36:03]
it says… The one that looks like a T.
[00:50:36:03 – 00:50:49:02]
You pull it up. Anyway, we’ll get back to that. Yeah, like I said, it has to… Maybe fun isn’t the right word but at least proud that you’re able to be in that situation.
[00:50:50:19 – 00:50:55:21]
It’s a great feeling to be able to help people out, especially whenever they’re in such dire straits.
[00:50:55:21 – 00:51:04:00]
The money I’ve paid for it, or what it owes me now is every cent spent, you know what I’ve put into it, every cent just for the last two days, it’s earned its keep kind of thing, if you get what I mean.
[00:51:04:00 – 00:51:09:26]
You kind of think, “Well yeah, that was worth doing that, whatever I did to it.”
[00:51:11:02 – 00:51:13:08]
Because I didn’t struggle, I didn’t struggle once with other cars.
[00:51:13:08 – 00:51:23:21]
Down holes and not much mud but they were struggling. Yeah, that was great. Those sinkholes were amazing. They weren’t very big, they were just big enough to swallow up a truck.
[00:51:23:21 – 00:51:29:14]
Yeah, what probably happened there is the road’s been unstable and he’s driven and it’s just collapsed.
[00:51:32:07 – 00:51:38:05]
People didn’t get out there and put things up, so people were throwing… I don’t know if you got your wheelie bins, we call them wheelie bins where you put your rubbish into and they get collected.
[00:51:39:05 – 00:51:41:00]
I don’t know if you call them people just doing that.
[00:51:41:00 – 00:51:47:14]
Some places I’ve been down and there’s a big sinkhole and someone had just thrown an old lounge chair in there just so people could see it.
[00:51:48:15 – 00:52:02:29]
I should have actually got a photo of that but I wasn’t thinking that’s where I had to go around and I was in like going up on the footpaths and mud on people’s lawns and I was just getting there. May I suggest a person perhaps yourself sitting there with a beer in their hands?
[00:52:04:18 – 00:52:11:22]
I’d like to have beers but I just want to keep a clear head at the moment. You don’t have to drink it, it’s just for the picture. It’s just for a fact.
[00:52:13:25 – 00:52:30:04]
I actually wouldn’t mind having a couple of beers and just switching off but I’ll keep him wits about me for a couple more days. No, you’re absolutely right. And I was going to ask you about this. There was the same gentleman that predicted the quake I think that was around this time. Was it or was it March that he was predicting it?
[00:52:30:04 – 00:52:33:03]
He was predicting one last weekend
[00:52:33:03 – 00:52:35:18]
and he’s still that much. That
[00:52:35:18 – 00:52:48:04]
gets my partner so hooked up. She reads that stuff and the pay for him believes it. I think Scott or Jimbo, they might have put it right last night though. They were quite angry when they’d seen that link.
[00:52:49:24 – 00:52:54:16]
They kind of put it right on that one. She felt really good after that. You can’t predict it. It’s like
[00:52:54:16 – 00:52:58:04]
tomorrow is going to be, well for me, it’s going to be Friday I think.
[00:52:59:04 – 00:53:01:00]
It just can’t be predicted. It can’t be.
[00:53:02:01 – 00:53:07:13]
So she’s feeling a bit heavy. I still wouldn’t be surprised if she disappeared out of Christchurch for that weekend though.
[00:53:08:17 – 00:53:12:06]
Well, I mean,
[00:53:12:06 – 00:53:22:28]
we never know. When somebody comes up with some new way of doing something, we don’t know for sure that they’re going to be right. I think in the interview that we did, I actually mentioned he’s not a scientist.
[00:53:23:29 – 00:53:24:11]
He’s not.
[00:53:24:11 – 00:53:41:15]
He never knew anybody. It’s somebody trying to throw some stuff out there that they may or may not be right. It doesn’t mean they won’t be. It just means that they’re likely that they won’t. It’s their scientific merit to the prediction model that they’re using.
[00:53:43:14 – 00:53:53:15]
They’ve said from day one, from talking from experience, that you can expect big earthquakes all after. Well, this is a totally new earthquake because it’s a totally different spot, but to expect big shakes up to a year afterwards.
[00:53:55:05 – 00:53:57:02]
And the 7th one won, it was a huge quake.
[00:53:57:02 – 00:53:59:27]
Yeah, that was a big one. The other one was just a bit thinner.
[00:53:59:27 – 00:54:03:08]
To the ground, my partner just walked in. She just walked out again.
[00:54:05:01 – 00:54:08:00]
Do you need to go to her? I’ll actually come back in again.
[00:54:08:00 – 00:54:08:26]
Are you all right there?
[00:54:08:26 – 00:54:11:27]
Wayne’s just talking to
[00:54:11:27 – 00:54:17:29]
his life project. No, that’s all right. She’s just doing tea. She was looking for the telephone. She only just got home.
[00:54:17:29 – 00:54:22:12]
From doing a petrol run for my son’s car. Well, I was just going to say, where the
[00:54:22:12 – 00:54:35:14]
she been? There’s quakes out there. She shouldn’t be outside. No, no, no. That’s funny. It’s in the little town up the road over there. When you Google it, you see the Big River, and we’re in the town of Kaipoi, which got totally smashed in the first earthquake.
[00:54:35:14 – 00:54:36:20]
It’s got us going.
[00:54:36:20 – 00:54:55:17]
It’s up and running. Well, that’s great. I was kind of concerned about you being in such a ravaged area that you were going to be without food and all kinds of stuff. So it’s actually very good for me to hear that it’s very localized and you have other places that you can go. The Christchurch is the largest city in New Zealand, right?
[00:54:55:17 – 00:55:44:25]
No, second largest. Auckland’s the largest. Auckland’s got a population of 1.7 million. It’s Christchurch, and then it’s Dunedin. I think we’ve got I know Wellington might be after us. I think we’ve got something like 400 and something thousand live here. Okay. Well, good. That’s actually better news because if the 400,000 are trying to find gas and food, and you’re not the largest city, then there ought to be enough goods and services in the other cities so that there won’t be a huge shortage. I mean, I know it’s not going to be pretty, but it may not be devastating. So it’s very good to hear that you have places that you can go to get food and gas. And if nothing else, just get out and go see something else, especially something that isn’t broken, that gives you the hope that you’re not living in the middle of a disaster area.
[00:55:44:25 – 00:55:49:08]
A lot of people are leaving. A lot of people are just gone.
[00:55:50:09 – 00:56:11:05]
The worst thing is when it starts running, there’s going to be no people who are still beginning to wonder. There’s going to be no jobs. There’s going to be no income for a lot of people soon. So there’s working on a lot of people-wise. I won’t be working for a long time, I say. Looking at it, my partner Bridget, she’s no way she’s going back to working the building in town. So that’s another thing we’re going to worry about in a couple of weeks. I
[00:56:11:05 – 00:56:38:16]
know the government, we’re all right, the government is there well. But that’s on the back of people’s minds as well, so it’s a bit more stressful. I’m not worried about that at the moment. I’ll worry about that later. No, I understand. But you’re in survival mode, and that’s the main thing right now. We’re warm, we’re dry, tummies are full, you know. Just to make a saying, we’re cool. I’m sure it will continue to be that way, but like anybody that works for a living, you want to be able to continue to make your own way.
[00:56:38:16 – 00:56:41:27]
Exactly. And certainly that’s going to be in the back of your mind.
[00:56:41:27 – 00:56:45:20]
But you’ll cross that bridge when we come to it. Yeah, I’m sure it will be fine.
[00:56:45:20 – 00:56:49:10]
Yeah, we will be fine like that. I just want to
[00:56:49:10 – 00:56:51:15]
get out there and start helping as soon as we can.
[00:56:51:15 – 00:56:56:28]
Just looking here at the chat room to see if there was any questions or comments.
[00:56:56:28 – 00:57:06:14]
Oh, by the way, Rene, I do know how to put it in 4WD. I was getting on Jones Road today, and it’s a very slippery road when it’s wet, and it was mildly wet, so I put it in 4WD.
[00:57:06:14 – 00:57:17:07]
I’m not sure if this is the one you guys are referring to for me to read, but Dalton says, “Hey, Tony, tell Wayne when he comes to the States, I’ll show him how the 4WD works.”
[00:57:20:00 – 00:57:25:09]
I don’t know when I got a shopping beer. Which means he’ll say, “Wayne, is this it? Is this it? Don’t tell anybody. Is this the lever?”
[00:57:27:10 – 00:57:30:20]
Yeah, I’ll freak him out. His steering wheel will appear. Your steering wheel is on the wrong side.
[00:57:30:20 – 00:57:37:28]
Rene says, “We’re way behind.” I bet you the video that they’re watching is way behind.
[00:57:37:28 – 00:57:41:19]
Oh, no, he’s saying only one red light. Okay, so they’re talking about something else.
[00:57:42:21 – 00:57:53:21]
There’s a picture, and that cluster of photos I linked up, there’s actually a photo of a traffic light. That’s quite funny. I didn’t have to do that, but I thought Rene might get a wee chuckle about that when I see that one myself.
[00:57:53:21 – 00:58:15:22]
Well, guys, I don’t know what it was that you’re referring to for me to look up. I would assume that means look up in the chat. I don’t see it. Maybe that was the one from Bear, but if you want, type it in again and I’ll try to read it. Honestly, we’ve got a new viewer, Easy Over. Thanks for joining us here, if I can call you Easy.
[00:58:15:22 – 00:58:29:21]
Yeah, you’ve got Nai Samara with that. They’re a real cool truck. Yeah. Yeah, they’re always sick. Yeah, it’s nice seeing other builds. It’s interesting to see how other vehicles are put together.
[00:58:29:21 – 00:58:38:28]
It’s good when I see that kind of stuff because we’ve got lots of those ones down here. I think he put a picture up of the old cruiser, the FJ4020,
[00:58:38:28 – 00:58:43:07]
and then we’ve got lots of those modified down here, and it’s really good to recognize some other trucks.
[00:58:44:13 – 00:58:45:24]
See what other people think of them.
[00:58:45:24 – 00:58:47:20]
doing an update on the news now.
[00:58:47:20 – 00:58:49:26]
So how many shocks have you had today?
[00:58:51:04 – 00:58:53:13]
I’ve stopped counting them. We would have been…
[00:58:53:13 – 00:58:54:22]
They’ll give us a figure. It would have been
[00:58:54:22 – 00:58:57:12]
probably about every half hour in the after-stall.
[00:58:57:12 – 00:58:57:16]
Mm.
[00:58:57:16 – 00:58:59:07]
It heaps of it during the night.
[00:59:00:11 – 00:59:07:21]
Then you never know. You never know if it’s going to be an aftershock or another major risk. The customers aftershocks.
[00:59:07:21 – 00:59:17:05]
Some of them have got to be new earthquakes. There’s got to be a new earthquake there because it’s miles away from the epicenter of the first one. I don’t know.
[00:59:17:05 – 00:59:25:29]
Amazing. Is this amazing? Maybe one of these days we’ll understand how all this works and we’ll have predictions like we do with hurricanes.
[00:59:25:29 – 00:59:43:08]
Yeah, that would be good. There’s just Mother Nature when it’s angry. I can’t do much about it, but are you going to enjoy the ride coming on this? Well, I know that I can speak for myself and I think several members on XJTalk that if you want to sacrifice a virgin, we’ll get together and buy Big Jim a ticket and send him.
[00:59:46:04 – 00:59:50:21]
He claims that he’s still a virgin and I think that’s good enough.
[00:59:50:21 – 00:59:58:20]
I find that hard to believe because I’m not that way inclined, but he’s a very attractive man. (Laughter)
[00:59:58:20 – 01:00:01:02]
Jim, did you pass out? You’re being complimented here.
[01:00:01:02 – 01:00:04:01]
Nothing. I’ve got nothing.
[01:00:06:13 – 01:00:12:01]
I’m just reading the news as it’s going past. It’s 2,500 people leaving Christchurch
[01:00:12:01 – 01:00:20:13]
each day or something, or they’re trying to get them out. I don’t doubt it. There’s lots of people without places to stay. They need to go someplace where they can stay.
[01:00:21:13 – 01:00:28:19]
I’m an 11-underd defence force. I would assume the government is pretty active as far as taking care of the people there?
[01:00:28:19 – 01:00:41:02]
Our Prime Minister, which he’s the dude who charged you, he’s actually from Christchurch. He’s got a lot of feeling for our little city, which is kind of cool. He’s pretty cool. He’s pretty incredible what he’s doing.
[01:00:42:08 – 01:00:48:19]
He’s promising us that the next thing. He’s not a man. You kind of believe him for a politician. Right.
[01:00:48:19 – 01:00:57:05]
Well, that’s good. He said it all on the September, and the stuff he was saying was beginning to happen. So you kind of put your faith in him, and
[01:00:57:05 – 01:00:57:28]
maybe he does it.
[01:00:57:28 – 01:01:04:06]
just saw what I did. I had scrolled up in chat, so I wasn’t seeing the new messages.
[01:01:04:06 – 01:01:07:01]
80% of the city has no mains water.
[01:01:07:01 – 01:01:15:26]
I’m sorry, say that again. 80% of the city has no water. My goodness. 80% of the city has no water. We’re very lucky out here.
[01:01:17:02 – 01:01:19:15]
The Sydney tank is around. It’s not going to boil water.
[01:01:19:15 – 01:01:22:10]
I’m just reading what’s going to have crossed my TV at the moment.
[01:01:22:10 – 01:01:26:29]
People will panic buying, and they’re just saying there’s no need to do that.
[01:01:26:29 – 01:01:33:13]
The little ports close, so we may have trouble later on for certain stuff.
[01:01:33:13 – 01:01:40:13]
But a lot of it will get raided, because none of the raids coming north into Christchurch have got us gold.
[01:01:40:13 – 01:01:42:24]
The other side may be a bit dodgy.
[01:01:42:24 – 01:01:48:29]
Rene says, “Tell Wayne him and his are in my thoughts.”
[01:01:48:29 – 01:01:50:10]
I appreciate it, Rene.
[01:01:50:10 – 01:01:56:08]
I’m not sure this is a helpful statement, but I’ll read it anyway. Weldman says, “Drink more beer.”
[01:01:58:24 – 01:02:02:12]
I’ll go away somewhere unwind.
[01:02:02:12 – 01:02:04:24]
What I’d like to do is
[01:02:04:24 – 01:02:06:02]
actually go
[01:02:06:02 – 01:02:10:23]
get in my jeep and go off a big track and take it out in the jeep. But we’re kind of needed at the moment.
[01:02:12:01 – 01:02:15:03]
We go wheeling, but hard out. That kind of relaxes me.
[01:02:15:03 – 01:02:21:18]
All this off-road stuff that you’ve done has been a good teacher for this situation.
[01:02:21:18 – 01:02:24:24]
Yeah, I think it’s been a good teacher. I was actually
[01:02:24:24 – 01:02:32:09]
surprised. I’m not in a club. I know some clubs that often help. But I’m kind of surprised that you just wait and
[01:02:32:09 – 01:02:35:18]
see all the cops or something. “Oh, we’re going to use that vehicle” kind of thing.
[01:02:36:22 – 01:02:38:14]
They’ve got new ones like these anyway.
[01:02:38:14 – 01:02:47:26]
They did run out of ambulances and we were pulling all the four-wheel drives they didn’t find in town. I’d see them elating people into those. We ran out of ambulances when it first happened.
[01:02:47:26 – 01:02:49:01]
To ferry people.
[01:02:49:01 – 01:03:07:07]
Which is kind of, well, I suppose most places. We’re only a small town. The ambulances weren’t four-wheel drive, were they? No, I think a lot of people got carried. In town, the roads are busted up, but they haven’t got that liquid. You say that word again, Tony.
[01:03:08:20 – 01:03:13:11]
Liquid faction? Liquid faction. That’s the one. They haven’t got that in the town.
[01:03:13:11 – 01:03:36:03]
So where’s the hospital located? Are they having to take them out of Christchurch to… It’s right. The hospital is where the Cathedral is and it’s just down from there. But it’s been rebuilt and earthquake-proof numerous times. And they’ve stood up well. And a lot of people have been flown straight to other cities like the North Islands, Wellington, Northern Alsons.
[01:03:37:21 – 01:03:52:00]
They’ve been flying out, patients. So the hospital is still there. They can still cope. They reckon they’re coping quite well. They’ve got the Burnham military camp. This is about 30-40km out of Christchurch. That’s where they set up the temporary morgue.
[01:03:53:07 – 01:04:05:16]
So the Army’s dealing with that side of it. So were there a lot of head injuries from the falling debris? There’s a lot of… I was listening to the guys. A lot of crush injuries. A lot of broken bones.
[01:04:06:28 – 01:04:09:05]
Back injuries and
[01:04:09:05 – 01:04:15:25]
there’s been, I think, three amputations on site to get people out of there. The crushed legs or whatever they were stuck by.
[01:04:15:25 – 01:04:22:28]
They’ve done a pretty good job. I’ll tell you my hats off. Our fire brigade out well by us are voluntary.
[01:04:24:08 – 01:04:34:18]
See if someone’s Jordan. His mate’s dead. He’s in there now. He needs help him with his body recovery. But he’s been in the voluntary fire brigade. I’ll take my hats off to these guys.
[01:04:35:27 – 01:04:38:11]
That’s just got to be a horrible thing to go through.
[01:04:38:11 – 01:04:43:20]
He’s got to be stressed. We’ll sit in one day and get him round. We’ll have a barbecue and a beer.
[01:04:45:01 – 01:04:46:15]
We’ll do the bloke thing and unwind that way.
[01:04:47:19 – 01:04:49:05]
That’s going to take a long time to get over.
[01:04:49:05 – 01:04:55:23]
It’s got to be done and you have to celebrate those times. The wee milestones.
[01:04:57:23 – 01:05:01:05]
That’s got to be a long one. This one. Big, big one. Recovery.
[01:05:01:05 – 01:05:07:18]
So sad. What’s the death toll now? 76? 76, yeah.
[01:05:07:18 – 01:05:11:08]
76 confirmed. They have got more bodies but they’re not
[01:05:11:08 – 01:05:15:06]
confirming the numbers until they’ve been identified for some reason.
[01:05:16:17 – 01:05:16:19]
That’s cool.
[01:05:16:19 – 01:05:17:21]
That’s interesting.
[01:05:17:21 – 01:05:20:04]
I don’t know why that would be. But whatever.
[01:05:20:04 – 01:05:36:29]
I was pretty sure there’s a lot of international people, tourists and whatnot, caught in there because it was a central city and we’re quite a turtle. We get a lot of tourists into town and to depart. It was devastated. A lunchtime period and there would have been a lot of tourists and they’d taken their photos to the big church.
[01:05:38:02 – 01:06:09:22]
That’s real kind of older buildings and statues and that’s where they go to, you know. That’s where they actually stay as well. Motels, hotels, get dropped in. So it would have been a lot of wandering around, taking their photos and just enjoying the day. I got you. So the 76 that they’ve confirmed are people that they can account for either being New Zealanders or tourists and they don’t want to add to the count because who knows what they are. To the next, and some of them, they’re going to have to be like
[01:06:09:22 – 01:06:13:00]
dental records because some of the buildings were burning and
[01:06:13:00 – 01:06:27:06]
the concrete bodies just don’t really mix do they and steal them. There’s going to be people that, just like happened in the 9-11, when the 20 hours went down, there’s going to be people that are identified from fragments.
[01:06:27:06 – 01:06:37:07]
got one of you guys who involved in your 9-11 here helping as well. So hey, that’s good. Experts helping and a bad thing.
[01:06:37:07 – 01:06:49:06]
Weldman says, well if he needs stuff Tony, tell him we can ship him stuff. Yeah, I need… Wait, wait, wait, wait. Then he follows up with besides XJ parts.
[01:06:52:07 – 01:06:53:01]
He needs me, doesn’t he?
[01:06:55:04 – 01:07:06:19]
He fell his name, he… I knew where you were going. Damn. Thanks anyway. Hey man, you know, Wayne’s been through a lot but we can’t send him a G part.
[01:07:07:10 – 01:07:08:08]
It feels good.
[01:07:08:08 – 01:07:26:13]
I’m going to have to jump off Tony. I’m going to go see if I can help out with dinner and stuff. Ran up some kids and bother not somebody out there. No problem. I think Rene was wanting to know what your Skype name was and I told him and everybody else that was in the chat room. So you may be getting some Skype calls.
[01:07:28:04 – 01:07:34:26]
I’ve put it on the laptop now so if I don’t answer, I will get back to you. I will
[01:07:34:26 – 01:07:36:01]
take my time talking.
[01:07:36:01 – 01:07:51:04]
Okay. Yeah, just different times I’ve got to go and spend some time with… No, of course. No, you can’t just enjoy yourself. You need to go be depressed. No, I’ve got it exactly. I’ve got the laptop and if we want the laptop back, I lose it. The other one’s in the main room.
[01:07:52:28 – 01:07:56:21]
Wayne, thank you very much for calling. It’s wonderful hearing you and it’s good to hear you laugh.
[01:07:57:21 – 01:08:09:27]
I think I read your post where sometimes it’s better to switch off and yak and yeah, thank you guys. Honestly, thank you. It’s good to laugh again, actually.
[01:08:09:27 – 01:08:20:08]
Well, there’s going to be lots of times to laugh in the future and everything’s going to be fine. I mean, look at all the things that you have. I mean, the earth shook and
[01:08:20:08 – 01:08:44:20]
crumbled and you still have water and power and energy. You’ve got internet. My God, you’ve got internet. You’re talking to people halfway across the world. So it’s going to be fine. We’re very lucky out here. Thanks again, guys. I really appreciate all their comments and everything you’ve been posting. I’ve been showing my partner Bridget and Michael C. Dealey and you really helped her out too. It was really cool. Well, thank you very much, Wayne. And you guys be safe and stay in touch with us.
[01:08:44:20 – 01:08:48:25]
We will do, mate. I’ll be on chat popping in every now and again just to say I’m okay. Excellent.
[01:08:48:25 – 01:08:50:22]
Okay, thanks, guys. I’ll talk to you all later.
[01:08:50:22 – 01:08:59:01]
there you have it. There is an impromptu live interview with Wayne after the
[01:08:59:01 – 01:09:02:09]
devastating earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand.
[01:09:03:17 – 01:09:07:14]
I personally was very happy to see that he was calling in because,
[01:09:07:14 – 01:09:14:05]
you know, like I said, the interview that I have is a good one. But everybody right now wants to know
[01:09:14:05 – 01:09:40:27]
how he’s doing, how his family’s doing, how the city of Christchurch is doing. And we were able to find out tonight and we were very, very fortunate to be able to have Wayne call in. I mean, with all that’s going on over there, his dedication to XJ Talk and calling into this show. I mean, I made it very clear to him that it was not
[01:09:40:27 – 01:09:47:25]
necessary. And please don’t feel like you’re it’s required for you to be here
[01:09:47:25 – 01:09:57:14]
after the interview to take questions. I mean, there’s just too much going on. But I’m very happy that he called and I’m even more happier to hear that
[01:09:57:14 – 01:10:10:11]
we made his his night a little better. And, you know, he’ll take that that joy that he has now from talking to us and shooting the
[01:10:10:11 – 01:10:20:24]
with us here for the last several, several minutes. He’ll take that joy into the next room and he’ll share it with those 10 people that are staying in his house and maybe they’ll feel a little better.
[01:10:20:24 – 01:10:33:28]
So all you guys should feel really good about all that you’ve been doing to help Wayne, which is just be his friend. Just talk with him on chat, just being here tonight and interacting with him.
[01:10:33:28 – 01:10:35:05]
And,
[01:10:35:05 – 01:10:37:23]
yeah, feel really good about that.
[01:10:37:23 – 01:10:41:27]
we’ll men says I’m the man. Well, you’re one of them.
[01:10:46:05 – 01:10:46:14]
Well, guys,
[01:10:46:14 – 01:11:14:06]
the show ran along. I didn’t want to end Wayne’s enjoyment that he was having. So I was just going to go as long as he wanted to. And I’m really glad that he was he was able to call in and spend a little time with us tonight. So thank you very much for being here on the show and experiencing this disaster in New Zealand with Wayne.
[01:11:15:16 – 01:11:31:17]
Sharing a little bit of it. And I’ll catch you on the site, which is XJ talk.com. This is Jeep Cherokee XJ talk.com show. It’s getting so long that I may forget what I’m saying while I’m saying it.
[01:11:32:24 – 01:11:41:03]
But it helps on the searches to use all those words to get people in and interested in seeing the seeing and listening to the show.
[01:11:44:16 – 01:11:47:15]
Everybody have a very good night and we’ll see you on the site.
[01:11:47:15 – 01:11:47:15]
