Jeep Talk Show

A Show About Jeeps!

Episode 846 – Field of Jeeps!

Actual Field of Jeeps

While those previously-mentioned Jeeps were discarded underwater, some were just left to rot. Nobody enjoys seeing these forgotten, worn-down vehicles, especially when it’s a Jeep, but similar to the previous example, it’s still quite a sight.

Thousands and thousands of Jeeps were abandoned on the Japanese island of Okinawa following World War II. Considering how much it would presumably cost to transport all of these vehicles back to the United States, it was initially decided that the vehicles would be left behind. These vehicles have sat there for years, providing an excellent stomping ground for those seeking Jeep parts.

A similar thing happened in Pusan, Korea following the Korean War. Jeeps were literally stacked on top of each other, and you could find a field full of the accompanying tires.

Soft Top Slashed

A man was in Albuquerque for business and was at a well-lit hotel but wouldn’t you know it?  He woke up in the morning and went outside to find the soft top windows were slashed all around (probably with box cutters) and everything inside was taken including the remote for the winch… They even stole the D-rings off the front bumper. The cops said the soft tops are vulnerable and if possible take everything out of the Wrangler at night and leave it unlocked… Better to let them bent on stealing to rummage through an empty Jeep and save the soft top.

Wrangler from Rock Crawler to Luxury SUV?

The Jeep Wrangler can ford rivers, crawl over boulders, traverse deserts and blaze through uncharted territory. Fierce yet affordable, the humble 4X4 has long been the go-to vehicle for outdoor enthusiasts.

Jeep executives introduced the redesigned 2024 Wrangler, replete with all the modern necessities: 12-way power-adjustable front seats, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, advanced safety features, contrast accent stitching and acoustic front glass, and thicker carpeting for a quieter ride.

“Drivers can now have water up to their knees and still have a power seat,”

As the Wrangler’s popularity has risen, so has the price. A base 4-door Wrangler Sport starts at $36,990. The Rubicon 392, with a 6.4L V8 SRT Hemi engine, has an MSRP of $82,495.

The Wrangler 4xe, the top-selling plug-in hybrid in the U.S., starts at $54,735 before a $3,750 federal tax credit is applied.
