From around the world

or from your city and sometimes just down the street. It’s the Jeep Talk Show interview.

Hi boys and girls, it’s time for another Jeep Talk Show interview. And tonight we’re going to be talking with Allison. Allison is a 35 year old pet mom, avid off-road and founder of the Duck Duck Jeep. I want to say the Duck Duck Jeep show. Have you thought about doing a podcast, Allison? I have avoided that very, very much so. I don’t have enough time to do the day already. But the Duck Duck Jeep show, it just sounds perfect, you know?

Yeah, it does. It would be kind of fun. So I’ll just mention this. So you know, there’s some podcasts out there that do monthly podcasts. They don’t do it weekly. They don’t do it more than once a week. Some are bi-weekly or bi-monthly, I should say. And then there’s a monthlies and it’s, it really irks me that the ones that do the monthly podcasts, the monthly episodes, their numbers, their download numbers are often very high. It seems like the, yeah, the less content that you put out, the more downloads you get per episode. Anyway, when Allison isn’t traveling for Jeep events across Canada and the US, she’s home enjoying time with her partner and there are three dogs and two cats. I’m going to just say, say this, that’s going to be great, especially in cold Canada. That’s going to be great for cuddling time. Yeah. I have a 280 pound Mastiff and then we also have two little dogs and I also have a Highland Lynx and a Siamese cat. So they are all cuddle bugs. And now that they’ve heard that I’m talking, they’re probably the most start appearing. Well, you know, I’ve been wanting to save the Mastiff for a while and I’m just a dog person. So I’ll look at any dogs. I like cats too, but they’re cats aren’t dogs. I mean, there’s this, this is a very, very definite difference between them. You say that, but my Highland Lynx fetches and he goes for Jeep rides with us. He has a harness. He actually, he’ll sit at the door in demand to go see his grandma at least once a week. Like if I haven’t taken him by Friday, he pulls the harness down and he has the door blaring at me. It’s amazing. It did. And you know what? With AI, I don’t know that we’re going to like what they have to say, but with AI, I think we’re going to be able to finally be able to have our parrot pets talk to us. That’s what I’m saying. Absolutely. But it would be fun to know what they’re thinking. All right. So Alison told us that you have a, or you mentioned you have a brand new website, officialduckingjeeps.com officialduckingjeeps.com. So you can head over there and I have not had a chance to look at this yet because it was brand new to me. What do you got? What do you got going on over there other than ducks? And if I just stole the whole, the whole point, I’m sorry. No, we have a history of Duck Duck Jeep. We have a little bit of information about all the events that we’re attending, a list of our sponsors.

We will play a little bit of a blog up every month, starting next week. We’ve got a couple different things that we’re working on as well that will potentially go up once we get our ducks in a row. You’ve been wanting to use that one. There days. Oh, that’s great. I mean, I think the event thing is absolutely perfect because that way people can find out where you’re going to be.

Now, when we started this thing, in the intro you have in there about US and Canada and US. And of course I don’t know that everybody knows this or not, but you’re a Canadian, right? Yep. I’m a Canadian born dual citizen. I live in Canada 90% of the time these days. And I go home to see mom and dad usually during event season. It’s a stopping place for us, but I can work in both countries. Well, fortunately we share a language. Mostly we share a language. There it is. I’m taking a quick pause here. So on the word edit, you have your hand in the camera shot. That’s all right. Sorry. I’m just sorry. You gotta sit there and hold the damn camera.

Yeah. Oh, it’s okay. It’s not. Well, it’s like being on TikTok, right? You hold it for hours.

If you end up down that hole, yeah, I can get a couple hours. Why does my hand hurt? That’s just weird. All right. I’m going to take another pause.

Yeah. I can imagine that the traveling that you have to do is very extensive. Are you tired of road trips? I mean, I get kind of excited about road trips because you eat all bad kind of food and you find things, the places that you would normally eat at. It’s just fun. I mean, for me, I don’t mind the driving. Usually I have one of the staff or my partner with me, which helps a little bit, but I will say the 26 hour drive I did down to Jeep and Whijed already this season was rough because it was just me going down. So I was not a happy camper. 26 hours. Good Lord. I’m, I’m bitching about the, the 19 that I’m getting ready to do to EJS. Of course, this is coming out after EJS. So people are going, they’re doing another one. No, no, it’s just, we record this well before it’s broadcast. So, and I’ll mention really quick, this is, we’ve actually done several interviews and they even got some pictures of you at last year’s EJS in front of the 2021 Jeep Talk Show Gladiator. Still got that special duck that you were handed out and you ordered autograph for me. But the, the, you’re not going this year. You have a, an injury you sustained at a Jeep event and you’re having some lingering issues with that specifically surgery, right?

We’re looking at that. We’re working with a couple of different doctors right now, trying to figure out how that’s going to work. I was attacked by a dog last season at an event and I still have no feeling from my middle finger to my thumb. So we’re feeling with that. And with that, they’ve found that there is a pocket in the muscle that did not close.

So we are trying to figure out how that’s going to go from here because again, I’m still having issues holding a marker. Is this, yeah, is this your right hand?

Yeah, it is. You didn’t see a little bit of this going. Yeah. And your right hand dominant, right? So this is really impacting your ability to do things.

It really is. I still have problems at times with driving for a long distance. Like when we got to Jeep from a jet, I couldn’t close my hand anymore. So that was a very uncomfortable experience, but we pushed through. And for the first four or five months that I was dealing with the injury, I couldn’t get dressed on my own, my partner and my mom were both saying, Oh, but your mom was enjoying it because it brought her back to when you were like two and three years old. Oh, no, I think I was driving her now. Well, yeah, because the two and three year old doesn’t give her as much backflip as far as not. I don’t want to wear that and all that hurts.

Well, and she drove 12 hours to rescue me when it happened. So I got to the event by myself. And

when I called home and said, Hey, by the way, this just happened, she’s like, you want me to come up and say, no, I think I’m okay. Then they touched my hand and I was like, yep, come please now. And she was there and absolutely amazing through all that because she had decided not to come to that event with us and then come up to Ontario for a while to see my grandma. But we made it work. I had to drive the six hours home from the event with the stitches and the swelling and the scary three days after it happened, which was a little interesting, especially being right hand dominant. But we’ve made it all work so far. You can drive okay with the left hand, right? I mean, where’s the difficulty driving left handed?

I have MS, which is not something that is very out there. So I have some nerve issues with the left side. And I am still walking disaster at times, but I don’t know why you just don’t hibernate in your, in your home because you have all these things going on and you’re still going. Um, I have a very strong role model and a parent that bought breast cancer through pregnancy and then is now a 27 year survivor. So he didn’t give up and I’ve learned not to either. Well, they’re doing so many things in the medical field these days. Uh, you, I think that we’re going to see some miraculous things. We already have, but I think we’re going to see some very miraculous things coming up and very, very short order. Uh, they talk about the scientific discoveries, medicals, and otherwise being geometric, uh, in the, uh, the, the, the speed in which they’re being created. I think with, especially with AI, I think we’re going to see that go even more crazy. It’s going to be a, it’s going to be a very interesting yet a little scary world.

For sure. It should be very interesting to see what cures and what treatments come out. So let’s, let’s roll way on back. Uh, I mean, you and I have talked several times. I’ve bet you in person. We talked at that time. Uh, so we have a history of sharing information backing forth, but we always have new listeners and new viewers. And if you’re not, uh, when I say viewers, if you’re not aware, uh, we’re on YouTube, uh, audio and video, you, you could see still images, uh, in the past on YouTube, but now you can actually see, uh, the video because we’re shooting video right now. So you should check out our YouTube, uh, and you just go to YouTube and look for Jeep talk show. It’s, it’s that simple. So, um, the, the, uh, getting back to the, the, the, the basic story, I mean, you’re more obviously you’re more than, uh, the duck duck Jeep thing, but that’s what you’re best known for about the, by the public. So, uh, we don’t have, people can look it up. So we don’t have to go into extreme detail, but give us the, the, the, how that whole ducking thing started. So, um, and I’m sorry, I’ve done another disservice to everybody listening. This is the person that’s responsible for ducks being put on Jeeps.

Absolutely. A hundred percent because you started this. Uh, and, uh, I don’t know if you caught the episode or not, but did you, did you hear the one about the, the Subaru and then, uh, kind of doing the same thing, the Moo Moo Subaru. That’s pretty funny. Yep. It’s definitely entertaining. I’ve got, some of the executives at Subaru following me on LinkedIn right now. So it’s always entertaining to see what they’re watching. Yeah. They’re looking at this duck stuff and they’re going, Oh, this is gold. This is gold, Jerry. We got to do this. So anyway, give us the brief story about how the ducking thing happened because I, people that don’t know the story I’m sure are like thinking you’re la la la and just don’t have an idea that it is caught on, but that’s not the case at all. Um, after I was assaulted coming into Canada in 2020, we decided to go further north to where my family lives and visit. And we went into a cottage shop over there, bought some ducks.

And when we came out, even though I had bought the ducks to torture my other half, I ended up, I love that. I didn’t know that you were told me that before. Yeah. It was actually to torture my other half. Um, I have a sixth sense of humor. I like to hide things for him to find when I’m leaving and the ducks were the newest and latest version. Um, in any case, I wrote on one of the ducks and left it on a Jeep that was lifted and pretty and all the things I wanted my just brand new stock Jeep, um, didn’t have yet. So I left a note and hoped it would make the Jeep driver smile because I appreciated their vehicle. And, um, the gentleman caught me doing it and he was a great person about it. He laughed and had some fun with us. And then we posted it on social media and his suggestion with the hashtag duck duck Jeep. And we created social media accounts for it. Um, we have official ducking Jeep, ESG 2020 as all of our social media. And, um, it went viral kind of overnight. We were able to email into Stellantis and say, Hey, we did this. And, um, I actually found those emails yesterday, believe it or not. And, um, we then kind of, you know, worked alongside Jeep followed and watched what they were doing and interacting with them. And it kept going crazier and crazier. We’re in 86 countries with over 600,000 people playing around the world. That’s amazing. Do you have you gotten used to it yet? Because I think I would be like, wow, how did this really happen? I mean, not that you didn’t put some effort into it, but initially it was just like this idea that you came up with and it caught on with people.

I am still humbled by everything that continues to move and happen with what we do. Um, Thunder Chrysler giving me a brand new 2024 Rubicon was not on our bucket list last year, but that happened. Um, we’ve worked with some amazing brands. We’ve worked with some amazing sponsors and we’ve had a lot of big changes. Um, it also means I don’t see my family as much except through event season. Cause my mom, you know, misses my existence some days and comes to me. It’s become a big family thing. My brother actually has a Rubicon. Uh, my niece has her own little mini Jeep and she has her own hashtag and a beast she ducks with. And it’s just kind of crazy at this point. So, uh, have you thought about doing anything like, um, um, getting, not necessarily with Mattel, but somebody that, that, uh, uh, builds these little models and actually doing a duck duck Jeep model where you have like the Jeep and maybe a duck on top of it. You’ve seen pictures of that where they take a big doc and put it on top of the, uh, the roof, uh, thing and doing an official duck duck Jeep, uh, the toy. There will be a lot of permissions that would have to go through with Jeep for that. So we have an amazing, you are promoting their product. It’s so well. And you, I know they have to protect their stuff, but you know, it just seems like a no brainer, especially with, because as far as I know, there’s nothing negative about what you’ve done here. It’s all been positive. The whole idea is positive. It is positive, but Jeep is very protective of their brand and rightfully so. Um, we just kind of follow the rules that we’ve had put out. There is an Allison duck potentially coming out. We are working on funding for that. Would it be like your, like your, your head, your face type on it instead of the duck face. That would be pretty, pretty cool. It’ll actually be a duck face, but it’ll have red hair blue eyes and a few other features that are one of our wonderful staff members created an AI image. And people were like, we want this. We want this. And I talked to celebrity duck. We have a price kind of idea now, and we’re working on that funding, but it could potentially come out in the next year or two. And it might be a thing we’ll see. I have avoided anything. I hate doing video because I got the old joke is I got a face for radio. I get that. Um, people want to see, I mean, they’re not, they’re not as judgmental as we are to ourselves. So, and that’s true. Um, I was going to say, we’ve got some big plans for this year with the events that we’re attending and some fun things. We’re shifting things up a bit with giving mini ducks for some events too. I’m signing a tag right now is a lot easier than signing an uneven surface of a duck. So, um, we have got new tags that are going to be specific to me that we’re not actually posting online where people can copy them because that excites them and they love using the ones that I’ve created, but we want to have one that’s a little different this season. So we’re working on that. And then, um, I’ve also been asked to sign some dashboards, which is really awkward and amazing. And so many other things. The first time I got asked, I was like, are you sure? Like I felt like I was defacing the Jeep. Yeah. I know what you mean. And the lady was like, no, no, no. And she actually sprayed it with acrylic after. I was thinking about this. So he’s going to rub off. Yeah. Yep. So she actually sealed it so it can’t. And, um, it’s crazy. I actually have, um, a gentleman that’s going to be at Jeep beach that has asked me to sign his Jeep very publicly as well. So not this specific individual, but does that kind of creep you out a little bit because you’re wondering what’s the, what’s the true motivation here? I mean, we all have the internet, so we kind of wonder about people. I know it’ll sound bad. We usually take, or I usually take one of the staff members out with me if we’re going to somebody’s Jeep to sign just for safety after some other experiences. Well, the reason for the big dog. Yeah, absolutely.

Oh yeah. Except the big dog will look cute to death. He’s a wuss. Um, I love my master. Don’t get me wrong, but Ollie is a big love me more. He hasn’t met a stranger yet. Um, but yeah, it’s just one of those things. Usually Steve pack or Jason who travels with me most of the time, will come out with me just for safety factors. So, uh, so you, you came up with the duck ducking idea and it happened in Canada and then it really caught on. And since that time, uh, you’ve been doing it since 2020 and actually COVID was part of the, part of the original storyline. Uh, cause you were actually, uh, uh, attacked by a fellow Canadian thinking you were an American and bringing COVID across the border or something. Yeah. And for, and from that, you took that into a positive and said, this is life’s too short. Uh, the, we need to be happy. We need to be nice to each other. And you started the duck thing. Cause in my mind, I mean, and this is great marketing in my mind, there is no relationship between a duck and a Jeep, not unless there’s a, uh, some, some ducks cross on the road and you run over them. I mean, that’s really the only, the, the one, the two come to come together in my mind. So this is amazing that you’ve actually made this connection and everybody knows it. And people question what, what’s the duck thing? What do you, what’s wrong with you people in ducks? What’s this duck fetish having to do with jeeps? So this connection is very strong. And I think sometimes too, that it can be, uh, that can be part of the, the, the, the draw to it because there’s not a, uh, a seemingly logical connection between the two, unless you know the story. For sure. And the other thing is there are so many amazing different ducks out there and people have been creating even more now that, you know, we fight over them when the new ones come out. Um, like I think Outback has a koala duck that people are looking for right now. If you order a drink, it comes in the drink and they actually have Jeep tags or duck tags that have the Hey Jeepers. You’ve got ducks. That’s going to be amazing. And I’m bitchy run across these things. This is when you’re out messing, you know, doing, you’re living your normal life and you see stuff like this and go, my God, the reach that I’ve created is just amazing. It really is. And like in my Jeep right now, Walmart for Easter had giant stuff ducks. And I say this is he’s like three feet tall. Um, he’s riding passenger in my Jeep. It’s a cow duck. But, um, yeah, like I have splatter painted ducks. I have ducks from Australia, um, Holland, England, Scotland, Ireland, and a few other countries. I’d have actually have to go look at what’s in this Jeep versus my silver Jeep. But we have 18 countries represented between the two right now. That’s going to be weird to different people that don’t even speak your language or doing these things. It’s kind of crazy. Um, the ducks have made it to the middle east, which is also cool. And then we have American military members that were in Kosovo last year, ducking while there. Um, it’s just kind of crazy to see where it pops up next. And, um, it’s always entertaining when somebody reaches out on my messenger because nobody thinks I’ll actually answer them. I answer every message that comes in. It’s such an honor to, for somebody to reach out to you. I mean, we love it hearing from people about the show and, uh, always try to respond to everything because it’s just so great to be them being part of the, the, not necessarily for you, but, uh, the, the Jeep illness, it’s just fun having people interact because of it. It’s, it’s what we’ve always wanted when we were little, you just wanted to be popular and friends with everybody. And you just weren’t the right kind of person or you don’t know why you didn’t fit in exactly. And then when you come up with someone like this, that people really enjoy, uh, it’s just fun having that interaction with people that you’ve wanted since you were little. And I, and you don’t have to agree. I’m just speaking for myself. Um, I mean, I was kind of in the mid middle crowd, most of the school. So I always had friends, but I am that kind of person that likes to make friends with everybody. And so being able to welcome everybody into the community and say, everybody is welcome is kind of a big thing for me. Cause I know a lot of people didn’t always follow welcome and like we allow all Jeeps to play duck duck cheap. It’s not just Wranglers, even though there are Wranglers knobs out there that will say, Oh no, it’s just for us. I actually have said very publicly many times. Well, just because you started this thing doesn’t mean you’re right. I mean, you could be wrong about that. Right. See you said Wranglers, you didn’t say Wranglers and Gladiators. So I got to take you to task right there. And of course there’s a, as I said, everybody’s welcome. Yeah, but you said Wranglers. You didn’t say Gladiators.

Well, I had a really entertaining one yesterday on a Facebook post. A lady goes, why would you be offering to sign people’s Jeeps? And you know, what, what makes you so special? Damn thing. I was like, nothing. You’re welcome to Google my name and story and see what you think. But you know, if you were commenting here, just because, you know, there, there, there’s the whole, there’s the door. There’s the whole, there’s the door. Exactly. But on the way out. Apparently people don’t understand how you can just scroll on by. You don’t have to put a negative comment on there.

They really don’t. We see it all the time. We actually don’t allow politics, religion, or a few other things on the group, just because we don’t need the post-wars. We don’t need people’s feelings hurt. We welcome everybody for a reason. Well, that’s the whole idea behind this is to make people feel good and be welcome.

And that’s the thing. So we’ve pulled down many posts and the hate that I get for that alone is always entertaining. I’ve also been threatened just for ducking and being out at events. So that’s the reason for the dog is you were literally physically threatened at an event.

And then after that you would make like you’re doing with the people coming with you. And now you’ve got the dog with you. So yeah. And as I recall, you reported the guy, the police didn’t wouldn’t do anything about it. And to me, I mean, I don’t like the idea of defending police, but are they going to do their job? And I understand they can’t, it’s not the policemen’s, he can’t say or she can’t say what she can and can’t do. Somebody else is telling them. So it’s just like, why are they being paid? We need to get the politics out of it, basically. They need to be able to do their job. And that includes going after people that attack people. I don’t disagree. Up here right now, there’s a big thing that a police officer that’s in charge somewhere around Toronto said, leave your keys outside your home at night so people don’t come in to steal your vehicles. There’s jeeps and other cars are being stolen left, right and center up here. I think it kind of kills me. I think I did hear something about that. That’s insane. Like we are all taking extra precautions, putting safety measures into the jeeps with kill switches and other things because you never know if your people will be in the drive. Did you do the, the, the Taser mini on your, on your Jeep? You know what I’m talking about?

We’re about to. And then you know about the pin code that you can put on there.

Yeah. That.

So we’ve looked at options to keep the yellow one safe. The silver one I’m not as worried about because it’s older and not. I was going to ask you about that because I knew that it was having some issues and it was like a godsend whenever you got the, the, the, the JLU.

The JK is currently in the process of getting upgraded. I was talking to one of our potential sponsors about parts that were needed and they said, yes, they were happy to help with our build. So I just have to get back with them to get some things going. And then, and then the negative part of it, which is actually putting the parts on.

And see, I have mechanic that I live with. Oh, he doesn’t think so.

Like I’m thankful for him and my brother actually at Smoky Mountain with the sponsored tires, sponsored wheels that we have. RTX wheels has been wonderful with the sponsorship since we started.

They sent us all the goodies to put onto the Jeep when it got there. And before we could show it off, we had to have all this stuff on it. No pressure. Thunder literally delivered it.

Well, Thunder Chrysler had, it delivered to me at Smoky Mountain and we were in the parking lot where it was delivered, stripping it down, switching tires, everything else. Compalable East, this Jeep is being stripped.

Well, it was, it was even funnier because people knew that the Jeep was coming. So we had a whole bunch of people coming in to see me get the Jeep,

which I was a little overwhelmed and hoping that wouldn’t happen because I was going to cry anyways.

But yeah, I broke down in tears because it was really overwhelming. I was actually a little in shock, I think too. I made Jason drive it off the trailer it came on because I just couldn’t see straight with everything. So he’s actually the first person that got to drive my Wrangler besides me once it was delivered. It was really entertaining, but we did the tire swap. And then because my mom has a 2021 Rubicon and her tires were not great for all the events she’s done with us, we actually put my brand new tires on her. So it was quite the scene when people were pulling out the check out. So you actually had a crowd when you took delivery of the Jeep. I didn’t know about this. That’s cool to be such a big deal. And man, people are just happy for you. And then it is wanted to be there as part of it. Oh yeah. And one of the couples there, absolutely wonderful people. They had written a letter to Jeep directly saying that my Jeep was not in great shape and not safe. And they were trying to help convince Jeep to actually do that for me. So when a dealership stepped in in such a big way, after they had also sponsored us at Jeep beach last year, I was in shock and awe and so many other things. Like when they called me in, I want to say April last year, they were very much excited and they, I’m trying to think how they worded it. What would my dream Jeep look like? I kind of laughed and kind of kept going like ha ha funny. And Eric who works at the dealership was like, no, no, no, really? What would your dream Jeep look like? And they ordered it.

So it’s now sitting in my driveway covered in solid. Oh, it’s a Jeep. We’ve done recoveries with it. Oh yeah. We’ve done recoveries up here with it all winter. We’ve been all over the place. It’s already been down to Florida twice. I think we’ve got almost 15,000 miles on it already. And this is a 23 or 24? So it’s a 20, 24. That’s a lot of miles for 24. It is. And it’s going to have even more by the time we’re done. I think we’re doing 20 major events. And then I know it’s a total of 60 events between now and December. Wow. That is amazing. So let me ask you, you contacted Jeep. Now you didn’t get the Jeep that you have the one that was provided to you. You did not get it for Jeep. You got it from a dealership. What was the dealership name? Yes. Thunder Chrysler.

Oh, don’t get this wrong.

Tony and Eric would be very, very upset if I got it wrong, but they’re absolutely wonderful.

But they have been the biggest support and this is absolutely amazing. If I call and say, “Hey, they’re like, how can we help?” When I got it down there for Jeep and with Judd, when I got it down there for Jeep and with Judd, it looked like winter had barfed all over the Jeep,

like the salt and the sand and everything. They had it detailed and back to within an hour and a half. So where are they located? Because the dealership isn’t nationwide. They are in Bartow, Florida. They will ship anywhere in the US. And they have a special deal if you tell them Duck Duck Jeep, they will do some things for you. They’ll not smack you. So that’s always a plus. No.

So let me ask you something. You were just saying how all Jeeps are welcome.

And this is a what if situation. So it didn’t happen, but it could have happened if you had contacted Jeep and they had provided you the Jeep, but it wasn’t a Wrangler, wasn’t a Gladiator. It was one of the new Renegades. Would that have been okay?

I’m saying, yeah. I would have driven it with no question. No, no, I would totally drive it and I would totally promote it because all Jeeps are welcome. I actually started with the Jeep Liberty.

I had an 06 while I was driving it. And then I had a Kia Soul after that because I had to replace it due to rest and financials were not the same as they were when I bought the Silver one.

But the dream was to have a Wrangler because I grew up with the military Jeeps at my great uncle restored. Oh, oh. And you mentioned that your mom has a Rubicon. Now, was this something that was a thing in the family prior to the ducking Jeeps or did she do this because of the ducking Jeeps? So he’s like, oh, Jeeps are pretty cool. I should get one of those.

So mom and dad bought a Silver 2004 for my younger brother when he was in university and he was driving that for a while and then they sold it. And I actually had been wanting to buy it, but it sold before I could get the cash together. So I went out and bought the one that I have.

And once Duck Duck Jeep went a little crazy, mom called me and she’s like, I’m going to go order a Jeep. Dad said it’s okay. So she got a Gecko Green 2021 Rubicon.

And it’s got all the bells and whistles and Jeep was absolutely amazing. We had a couple of shoes with the dealer locally to mom and dad. And I emailed the head of Jeep and I was like, hey, so these are the things that we’re dealing with. Is there any way we can fix this? Because mom and dad paid cash for mom’s Jeep and it was a custom order and we waited for delivery and everything and there were things not matching and Jeep was amazing. They took care of everything for us. They’ve been wonderful to work with that way. And so we got mom her dream car

and she takes it everywhere. She actually just got a golden doodle puppy that they named Ducky.

And mom’s plate actually is Duck Duck, which is hysterical. That’s funny. She knows she won’t get sued. She’s gotten really into this. Yep. But she’s gotten into Duck Duck Jeep so much. Even when I’m not in the mood to do it and we’re out somewhere, she’ll hop out of my Jeep and run for whatever Jeep was a duck. And I’m just like, yep, okay, cool.

So I was at a recent Jeep meet. We’ve been trying to do a monthly thing, get it started really, a monthly thing here locally, going out and meeting people at a Jeep event. And we were actually officially able to go and do that this past March 10th. Anyway, while I was out there, there was some kids, like maybe a seven year old and I assume it was his sisters. They were probably, gosh, I would say four and five years old, the little girls. And the little boy was looking at my Jeep and just going, oh, I said, is there any, you know, getting questions that you had about my Jeep? And he just asked some very basic things, but I wanted to interact with them, you know, because he found it fascinating. And I understand that it’s great. And it’s also too, kind of a turn off when adults don’t spend any time with you, you know, because they’re not your kids and you don’t have to. Anyway, while I was talking to the little boy, the little girl kind of interrupted and she says, I put a duck on your Jeep. And I said, did you? I said, and I was kind of looking at the passenger side where we were standing. And I said, where did you put it? She goes, Oh, it’s on the other side. I put it on the mirror. And I walked around to check out the duck. I didn’t see no duck. And then I saw it. It was about a quarter inch long. It was a tiny little, little bitty duck. And then I, then I realized she had lied to me because there’s no way in hell that she got up to the top of my mirror as tiny as she was on the lifted Jeep. So she had somebody put it up there. Anyway, I thought that was really funny. I’ve never seen a Jeep because it was like literally a quarter inch long. And I’m sure you’ve seen all different sizes and shapes, but

have you seen the mini mini ducks? Let me see if I can find my keys.

Is it, is it cold in Canada now or is it warming up?

So we have snow. That would be a good thing. I’d love to have snow here.

We’ve been under snow warnings for the last four days. Oh, you had a big, you had a big storm yesterday, didn’t you? Was it a snow, a snowy storm?

It was a snow storm and wind. We actually had the power go out a couple of times. It got kind of interesting. I found my keys. Actually put them somewhere useful today.

Don’t judge how dirty my Jeep is right now.

This is like the thing I was telling you about earlier, how I was planning on doing some interviews with people where they walk around with their phone and show us stuff. I think that just, it’s a new, another dimension of interesting. It’s kind of like the, those mobile vans, the news, the news stations would have, and they would go on the site and they would extend that big antenna out of the van, you know, so they could talk back to the studio. And here we are with the internet doing all that same stuff. Oh, it’s a nice day there today. It’s sunny right now, but as you heard, I just broke a whole ton of ice off the side of the Jeep. It’s so funny. People are listening to the podcast because they’re, they don’t know about the YouTube thing and they’re going, what do you mean it’s sunny? I don’t see nothing. Well, it’s kind of sunny. Here we go. So I have 2000 of these little itty bitty ones. Yeah. The one she left me was all yellow, but yeah, about that size. Is that the mini ones? Yeah. Are those good? Are those gummy ducks?

They’re actually hard weapons, but since we’re out here, I will see if I can figure out how to do that real quick. So this is my Jeep. Oh, that Jeep is really dirty.

I was not kidding. I’m just kidding.

That’s all the ice I just broke off. So the Thunder logo, that’s the company that provided you the Jeep, the dealership that provided you the Jeep. Yep. And then we’ve got a couple of project jeeps sitting over here. Yeah. I was saying, I was thinking that didn’t look like a JK.

No, that is. Yeah. I love TJs.

He likes to make fun of my JK and my, the Rubicon, but I call his a golf cart. So we go back and forth. We know the TJ is true Jeep and the JK is just kidding.

Sorry for all the noise, but the road. I’m not hearing you at all. The audio sounds great.

A new dimension to the Jeep talk show interview, walking around looking at stuff. That’s great. I love that.

It’s fun.

All right. So you got a Jeep and you needed it at just the right time. Cause you were having issues with the JK. The JK is not getting as much love, but it’s going to be getting love because you’re looking at getting parts from, from various companies and stuff or a company. Is there, is there anything, have you done a lift on your, your JLU yet or are you planning on?

So my Rubicon came with the extreme recon package on it.

So I’ve got the two inch or two and a half inch lift, but pretty far on it. And she’s got all the things you could dream of already. We will be upgrading a few things and finishing up my rock plates. Very, very nice. So, so you’re pretty well set. You just have to run the wheels off of it. So how long is it now you have this Jeep because it was provided to you by the, the dealership.

And how long do you have this one before they provide another one? Because you’re putting all the models on it. What was the agreement?

Actually, there was no major agreement. This one is mine fully. Well, I understand, but you’re going to need a new one every couple of years with the, the miles that you’re putting on it. I think that’s what they’re, they’re guessing. This is interesting because I’m just being hateful. Like, what do you mean? More Gs?

I don’t know. Tony will be sitting there twitching. That’s what I was thinking.

They are absolutely losing at the dealership. It is a deal. Yeah. I would work with again. It’s so nice and it’s great to have that kind of recognition. And this wasn’t something that you solicited. This is just something that you were doing some stuff with them. They, they knew you, they, they knew how to get ahold of you. And they said, Hey, how about a Jeep?

Yeah. We had worked with them a little bit because the Jeep beach last year, they actually flew me out for Jeep beach provided to Jeep onsite for me. So it’s cheaper to provide you a Jeep so that you can drive yourself.

And it is for the airfare. I’ve caught up now. I understand this. That may be the case. Like if she can sleep at her Jeep, we don’t have to get a hotel or anything. This is great. See, they weren’t really nice about that. They made sure I had some more decent to stay and like the area was safe too. Like they are absolutely wonderful. And we have so much fun and they have great senses of humor. Thank God, because they don’t know how to travel with me. Same thing here. I can’t imagine why people do interviews with me, but it is what it is. So, well, thank you. So, uh, the, uh, the, then you mentioned the 20 places that you’re going 20 destinations that you’re going this year. Uh, can you give us a, give us some, the top ones that most people would know about.

Um, so we are definitely going to be at, I’m telling you, Jeep beaches, our next one. We’ve got a car show in Albany that we’re doing that it’s Albany, Georgia, and they help with children that have been abused and to prevent abuse. And then we go to Jeep beach and then I have an event in Tennessee, which I’m waiting on information for. And then I turn around and do Jeep jam at Panama city before we come home for two weeks. And then I usually do Bantam. We’re not 100% sure about that yet this year, but Bantam is one of my favorite events. Usually last year was not a great experience. So I’m kind of 50 50 on it. Not this is the event just because of the injuries sustained there. That is much, I’m sorry, go ahead.

But I think from Bantam we go into Canada day where we’re doing a big event in Bancroft, Ontario that we do every year. We gave a thousand ducks away there last year. And then we have Toledo Jeep Fest. We’ve got, um, smoking mountain Jeep invasion. And then I am out to Eureka Springs in September in Arkansas for one of their events. And then I know there’s like three other events. And then we go to Bartow, Florida for a breast cancer event. And then we have our own local event called breakfast with Santa that we do up here where we provide breakfast for all the little ones in the community. That should be cookies and milk, by the way. That’s what the breakfast should be.

We did breakfast pizza last year. It was actually pretty cool. That’s almost as good.

And then, um, we gave all the little ones a duck and a craft and got them, you know, just having some fun with Santa. Actually got a really good picture of Santa with my Jeep because I apparently had to, well, you were not even that fine. No, Santa was very, very nice. He figured with all the stuff I do that I should be able to have the picture. So we had fun. Um, we also do a lot of the Christmas parades locally. There’s also a witch’s walk and the community here on Halloween where women dress up as witches with their rooms and walk on the street. That’s a joke for the whole family. It is, especially since my mom’s Jeep’s name is Wicked and it’s all witch themed.

So I got to share this with you. I thought it was funny. You were talking about, uh, you, you would buy various things and the latest thing was, uh, uh, the duck that leave around the house for your significant other. And, uh, so I was not behind this and I believe you, me, I would take, uh, take the blame for it. But actually one of the Jeep talk show team members that was going to SEMA last year, uh, decided that, that, uh, Greg Henderson of unofficial use only, uh, was going to have his first, uh, booth at SEMA and, uh, have the Jeeps out there that he had modified, uh, and display there at SEMA. And they came up with the idea of buying not the mini ducks, but I guess like the in between size ducks. Uh, and I think, uh, I think, well, I’m not going to say his name. He, he bought a box of these ducks, like 200 of them or something. And the goal for not only him, but the whole Jeep talk show team that was there was to go to Greg’s booth and hide these ducks and all the, in the vehicles and the door pockets and in the back. And we, and I say, we, we actually, uh, enlisted, uh, uh, Greg son to help us with that. And also to take them back and put them in his shop because Greg, Greg is not a duck fan. He’s one of those people that I’m sure you run across, uh, all the time. Uh, anti-ducker. And he will say begrudgingly, it’s fine. I mean, it’s fine if they want to do that sort of thing. Uh, but he’s just not, he’s yeah, he’s just not a fan.

Absolutely. It’s like, it’s like every Jeep is welcome. Every opinion is welcome.

Exactly. And that’s the thing. As long as you are, you know, kind in your delivery to each their own. Well, we do remove people that get hateful, but the thing, the biggest thing is we try to protect everybody in the group and make sure that we kind of go against the whole idea behind the ducking thing. Otherwise. Yeah, for sure. And we’ve, we’ve actually kicked some people out for being rude or saying, you know, Hey, that isn’t a real Jeep. Well, I mean, you have to, I mean, you have to set the standard and this is the thing back when forums were really popular. I couldn’t, I could not understand why moderators would be hateful to people on the forums because the whole idea behind the forums was to get people to post and not to shut it down. I mean, you know, you’re stupid, you’re stupid. No, you’re stupid. And it’s just like, Oh God. So we see a lot of that. It gets crazy, but we try to make it a happy, friendly place where kids are welcome and safe to look at the post kinder because a lot of people that play have children, a kinder gentler type thing. And it, and it’s that’s neat too, because that gets the kids into the Jeeps at an early age. So, and the, I think everybody’s fascinated by Jeeps and I think pretty much everybody wants one where they’ll admit it or not. Now, so we mentioned the, the website official ducking Jeeps.com. You’d be able to see that in our show notes for this episode. And, but you know how the kids are, they love the social media. Where else can people go to see or find out more about the ducking Jeeps?

We have TikTok, we have Instagram, and we have Facebook. And it’s the same handle, official ducking Jeeps EST 2020. And that will find all of our social media. Yeah. So, what was official ducking Jeeps 2020 established. So EST, official ducking Jeeps established or EST 2020. Did I get it right? Could you, could you make it longer? Because I think longer would be more fun. We tried to make it short, but it got really crazy when everybody all started using Duck Duck Jeep and creating their own groups and social media with it. So when we signed with Jeep to protect Duck Duck Jeep with an agreement, we made sure that it was very, very much protected in the sense that yes, it is a long name, but it is also cheap. There’s a lot of, a lot of other Klingons, I will say, that have co-opted the, the ducking thing, because it’s so popular. So that, and that’s one of the reasons why I want you to mention exactly which one it was. You think, you think stealing names and our identities on TikTok is bad. This, this, this has gone nuts. Cause I see, I couldn’t keep it straight. Whenever I first talked to you, it was, there’s so much of that out there. So yeah, actually, if you just go to official ducking Jeeps.com that’d be the easiest way to make sure you get to the right Facebook, TikTok, correct me if I’m wrong here. So, well, that’s great. Well, that’s great. Good luck on the, the hand. I hope that works out for you. And, but, but ultimately life is good. You get a Jeep, you’re going to all kinds of places across the country and you’re doing, you’re living the life. You’re living, living life simply because you did a kind act that actually sprung from a, a not, I don’t want to say a negative act, but something to piss somebody off. Cause you, you like putting this stuff around the, around the house and say, Oh, I got this. Let me just use it for something good. Well, and that was the thing after being assaulted and not feeling safe, going out that first time and buying the ducks was kind of a big thing too. And I didn’t want people to feel the way I did. So while they were intended to torture somebody, they turned into something amazing. It’s different when you’re, when you’re torturing a family member, it’s, it’s to be expected. It’s a showing a love. It really is. All right, Alison, thank, I’m sorry. I was going to say, even now, when I get home from trips and stuff, I’ll buy a special duck for Jason and leave it on his Jeep for him to find. So his is probably just as full as my Jeep is at this point. All right. All right, Alison, thank you so much for being on here. Again, we really enjoy your story. I enjoy speaking to you because you’re always fun and that, and I always wind up something, something new. So if you’ve listened to Alison’s interviews in the past, there’s always little tidbits of things that I didn’t know before. So it’s great because you, it’s like all of us, we have more than just the one story and there’s more to it than that. So again, thank you very much for being with us and, and thank you for being doing the first video interview with us out of the three or four that we’ve already done. Yeah, it’s been a lot of fun and thank you for having me as always. I enjoy chatting with you. Hey, thanks again to Alison of the official Duck Duck Jeep. Would you call it a club? I don’t know that it would be a club, certainly a large following. If you don’t know about ducks and Jeeps, my goodness, you’re brand new to the Jeep world. So visit their website right now at officialduckduckajeep.com. Hey, coming up next week, Big Ridge, Four Low Magazine and several other things, but Four Low Magazine, I think is the, is the place to go to check out some really cool off-road type activities in both online and print in a magazine. You remember, you guys remember paper magazines, right? Well, you can still get that way. And we even talk about the smell of magazines. You know, you don’t get a smell from your phone. Well, I guess you could, but it’s not the same thing as a smell from a magazine. Hopefully. And that’s a wrap for today’s episode of the Jeep Talk Show. I want to give a big thank you to our special guests for joining us today and sharing their knowledge and experience with the Jeep community. Thanks again to G-tops for sponsoring this episode of the Jeep Talk Show. Find out more by going to the gtops.com website, support the companies that support the show you love the Jeep Talk Show. So we had a great time. My wife and I went to EGS 2024 this year, and we had a great time with the Loner G-tops that Chris sent to us and it made the adventure even better. So think to yourself, what are you missing looking up? I mean, we were, we had plenty to see in Moab, but when you’re next to some rock formations, huge rock formations, not only can you see to the front, to the sides, but you can look up and see what’s up there. My concern was always, I was going to be seeing a big boulder coming to crash down on the Jeep. Couldn’t do anything about it. Well, maybe I could have zigged out of the way,

but at least it enhanced the trip significantly. Thanks Chris. Hey, we love hearing from you, our lister. Reach out to us via email, phone, or social media. We use your voicemails on the show. So until next time, keep on jeeping and we’ll see you on the trails. Fridays are red. Remember everyone deployed. Broadcasting Sense 2010.
