Hi there boys and girls, it’s time for their Jeep talk show interview episode. And when I start mumbling my

(Explosion)

(…)

So tonight we’re going to be talking with a Dottie. Uh, and Dottie, I don’t know if you mind your, your last name being said here on the interview, but I’m thinking that you could have a wonderful percolator business with, with the last name of drips, Dottie drips coffee or coffee Emporium. That really sounds good. Are you a coffee person? I love coffee. Yeah, actually it’s funny. That’s the first time I’ve heard that one. I’ve heard, uh, I should write children’s books. I should, you know, all kinds of things that that should put me in the limelight. I have not yet heard coffee though. Yeah. That is wonderful. Cause I always try to come up with something unique and I love it whenever I come up with something that nobody’s heard before. Most of the time, they don’t understand what I’m talking about. So this is good. You know what I’m talking about and it’s something new. All right. So Dottie has been off-roading since 2011. She joined Jeep Babes in 2022 and quickly got involved with all aspects of the club and all serves on leadership on the leadership team as the treasurer. Uh, Dottie is passionate about helping share the mission of Jeep Babes and is here to talk to us today about one of the largest fundraising events of the year, the show and shine. So, uh, shows, show and shines are really cool. And I think that it, um, people like that because they, even though it’s not about them, it’s about something that they love and the something that they’ve done things too. So they get to show it off and, and have people tell them how beautiful it is and maybe get an award or something. Are you guys giving out awards at the show and shine?

(…)

Yes. So we are, we have not yet put together the categories cause we’re looking for more entries. Um, but yeah, we will be awarding. You usually it’s about three categories that we choose. Um, we are trying to get, uh, this year to be beyond just the Jeep community. So, uh, we’re waiting to see what type of entries we get, but yeah, there will be some rewards. But Dottie, it says Jeep Babes. You can’t do something that’s not Jeeps.

(…)

We sure can.

(…)

So which ones are you looking for? Looking at it. Are you talking about, uh, cyber trucks, uh, Toyota’s, uh, Broncos, uh, anything under the sun? I mean, what do you, what do you think you’re going to go with? Good point. So we, this is our first year doing it this way. And, um, the reason is we, we’re so strongly, uh, you know, passionate about the mission of raising these funds, um, that we’ll, we’ll go into, I think in a little bit that we just, we want to make it bigger. We really want the community support. And we thought, well, the Jeep community is amazing and awesome. And there’s so many passionate people that are members of the community, but let’s, how do we take this a step further? And this year’s venue is a Speedway. So we thought, why don’t we expand it to motorcycle clubs and classic car clubs and anybody who’s just a vehicle enthusiast to get involved. And it’s a great way to give back to community and, you know, build relationships with others who are passionate like we are about motorsports.

(…)

Do you have any vendors involved yet?

(…)

We do. Talking to some?(…) Yeah, we have. Anybody we can shame and maybe get them, get them to sign?

(…)

Uh, you know, I don’t have anybody I want to put on last, but, um, we’ve, we’ve mainly secure local vendors. Um, we haven’t quite branched out into the large, larger space. Um, we’ve been successful in getting some sponsorships in the way of, you know, goodies and things that we can raffle off to help raise some money. Um, but most of our vendors are local, you know, similar to what you might find at like a farmer’s market. Um, we don’t strictly limit it to just off-road or automotive themed vendors. Um, so we have, you know, everything from yummy goodies like lemonade and mini donuts to, um, you know, handmade off-road, you know, t-shirts and things like that. So, um, we’re really looking for vendors from all walks of life. We would absolutely love some larger sponsorships and vendor presence. Um,

(…)

you know, but we’ve, we’ve got a little bit of work to do here and that’s part of the reason I’m talking to you today to try to spread the word and see what we can do. Well, I certainly hope that we can help you now. Is it, uh, is it a certain part of Michigan or a certain town in Michigan that you guys are primarily in or is it the entire state?(…) So we are across the entire state of Michigan. Um, a lot of our members are constantly into Oakland County area, but we’re quite spread out. We have a good number of members in like grand blank, a little bit north, you know, for the north end Bay city area and even some in Traverse city area. So we have 4,600 members across the state of Michigan. Um, so yeah, we’re, we’re pretty large. That’s great. Uh, make sure you tell them all to listen to you on the Jeep talk show. I sure will. We might grab a few, a few people that listen to more than just the one episode. Um, so, uh, the, um,(…) so I’m not familiar with the, the counties there. What city is that the major city?

(…)

County talking about, I think I got that right. Oh, yeah. So people might be familiar with like Bloomfield, those Waterford Pontiac area right off 75 there. Those are some of the larger cities, um, in open County. So, uh, we’ve got, like I said, we have a lot of, of us that are around like Waterford, Milford air, um,

(…)

about 40 minutes north of Detroit, roughly. Gotcha. So do you guys hang out at, uh, oh, I’m brain farting on the name, uh, the, the, the, the local off-road park. Um, Holly Oaks, Holly Oaks. Thank you. Do you guys hang out at Holly Oaks? Do you do things? Yeah, we do. We do some events at Holly Oaks. Um, I recently moved mid state, so I’m closer to now another one called rocks and valleys. Um, but yeah, we definitely have our events throughout the year and we usually try to go support our friend Tom at four Fest over there at Holly hopes as well. He’s been a large supporter of us in the past and we always want to pay that forward too. Are you going to the next four Fest event? I think it’s in September 7th, I believe. Yeah, we will be there. Um, the Jeep Babes will be there with a booth set up, uh, so we can share a little bit more about our mission, uh, you know, recruit any interested females who want to join, uh, our Jeep Babes group. And, um, yeah, just spreading the word and trying to get more support for our show and shine. So, uh, we know, uh, Tom Zielinski very well here on the show and actually, uh, the day that we’re recording this is, uh, Fridays are our interview episodes and we’re publishing Tom’s latest interview with it today.(…) So confusing people, cause this thing’s not going to be out for two or three weeks, but, uh, I think it’s funny, you know, we’re, we’re here talking about Tom and, uh, just created the output file up on YouTube. But anyway, um, so, uh, Chris, uh, I call him Jeep talk show Chris, cause I know like three Chris’s having to do with, uh, oh, and, uh, but Jeep talk show Chris is going to be emceeing the next four Fest events. So you need to make sure that you, uh, if you’re out there, you find Chris, he’s really tall, he’s easy to pick out. You should have a red hat like I have and, uh, tell him that you, uh, that Tony said get you on camera or Fest. For sure. Yeah. I’ve hung out with Chris a couple of times now. Okay, good. You know, I’m talking about, I met him for Fest last year and he helped, uh, helped me talk a little bit about our event that took place at in the middle of four Fest last year. Um, and then he, I invited him out to one of our other fun events earlier this year. So we hung out a little bit at the go topless event that, that we put on. So yeah, Chris is good people. He, he’s a lot of help here to the show. And especially so since I’m down here in Southeast Texas and there’s no way in hell, I’m getting up to Michigan to go all the different things that he goes.

(…)

You ever go to the, uh,(…) the Ear Smarts, uh, open house that they have every so often coming up.

(…)

No, I have not been out there. Um, I’ll have to add that to my,(…) my, my Jeep’s down right now. I haven’t, um, I went from a daily, I got a new daily driver. So now I have a primary off-roader and that’s been in the garage. I need to do some work on it.(…) So, uh, if you don’t mind, if you don’t mind talking about your dirty laundry, what do you got to do to,(…) uh, transmission work? It’s a, it’s yeah, it’s the inline six, uh, TJ. So I need to pull a transmission and, um, work on that a little bit and it’s been sitting for a couple of years. So probably needs, I need to probably check all, you know, grease barriers and all that fun stuff that comes with just sitting for a while. Yeah. TJ, TJ, TJ’s are great. My, my wife has a 2003, uh, TJ fortunately. And I don’t know if you have an auto standard that I don’t know cause it’s an auto, uh, she has the standard five speed and her,

(…)

I personally think the family transmission should have an, is a standard automatic.

(…)

Yeah. That’s what I have is that straight six. It’s the, it’s bulletproof. Uh, so, uh, yeah.(…) Um, I’m excited to get it back on the trail for sure. Sure.(…) And I’m sorry, I’m just going down a trail here. Well, the modifications, lift size tires.

(…)

Yeah. So it’s a, it’s lifted on 35. I think it has a four inch. It’s been a, it’s been a while since we put that lift on, like I said, it’s been parked for a while. Um, but other than that, it’s stock. I mean, I don’t, I don’t do a whole lot of like crazy, you know,(…) after market stuff. Usually it’s just a lift and tires for me.(…) It’s a nice, knobby, uh, knobby tires like swampers or something and, um, a light bar. That’s about it. Yep. Um, so you always know when you have a four inch lift the first time you get out of your TJ after the lift.

(…)

Yeah.(…) Try to say Geronimo as you’re falling through, uh, yeah,(…) yeah,

(…)

especially with that tub, you got those, those lips, you got to get your foot over. I was just going to say that you have, you learn to get your feet out the door first because you don’t want to hook it on that tub because you think you got it. And then now it’s face plant. That’s right. For sure. And 35 is cause I have a four inch lift on my, uh, my wife’s 2003. It’s so funny. I had an XJ, uh, that was our first Jeep was an XJ and a four and a half inch lift on an XJ is, is next to nothing. I had to go to a six and a half to actually get enough of a height. So I get the 33 is under it. So whenever I went to go do the TJ, I just went straight to a four inch lift and a four inch lift on a TJ ain’t the same thing as a four inch lift.

(…)

My wife is, yeah, my wife is five foot two, but she can get her up in there and just fine. So, and she, she just loves a short person. Actually it loves being able to see all the rounds. I love that. Alrighty.(…) So, uh, I’m sorry. Did you say when the event is coming up? I know you’re working on it. I don’t think it’s happening soon cause you would have more or going on. Um, well that’s the fun part. It is coming soon.(…) Um, no, that’s okay.(…) No, no, no, not at all. We hit these things fast and furious because we do have four major fundraising events throughout the year. And, um, the primary planning committee is our leadership team. Only, there’s only four of us. So, um, it’s a lot, a lot of work crammed into a short amount of time and every year we say we’re going to start sooner. We’re going to start there and you know, here we are,

(…)

you know, almost middle of August already. But, uh, so our event is Saturday, September 20th, uh, at 10 AM. And so we are. You chopped a little bit. Say that date again. I apologize. It is Saturday, September 20th. Okay.(…) And, uh, yeah, we’re, we’re free. Furiously trying to put the final details, get more sponsorships, get some more vendors. We have about, uh, I think it’s 15 or so vendors,(…) um, which, you know, we have the space for a lot more cause this year it’s going to be at the birch run speedway and we have the entire center. So we’ll be trying to fill up the track with all kinds of different vehicles, vendors, and, and just spectators come in and check it out. So, uh, is there an entry fee?

(…)

Great question. So, um, if you want to enter a vehicle into the show and shine, it’s $25 donation. Um, we’re able to keep our costs fairly low. So that whole $25 goes straight to Haven, um, which is our benefactor. And, uh, if you just want to come check it out and you don’t want to enter a vehicle, it’s $5 admission. And then kids under 12 are free. Cool. So, uh, I know people are wanting to go to a website or wherever they can see, you can get more information. I did get the website information from you. I think you guys do primary, primarily everything else on Facebook, but the website is JB, Michigan.com. I said earlier, it’s JB like JB weld that we had on to do it for that. JB, Michigan.com. Could you, could you tell us, uh, for the Facebook page, is it just a heat babes enthusiast club, Michigan chapter, or is it shorter or longer?(…) Um, so our Facebook page is, um, it’s Facebook.com forward slash G babes, Michigan. And that will take you to the public page. And the events tab is where you can find more information about the show and shine and including, you know, if you want to be a vendor, you want to be a sponsor. Uh, you can also sponsor in the name of, you know, a friend or family member who has experienced physical or sexual trauma. And as a survivor. So we do have different levels as well, but yeah, you can find all the information on the events page there.

(…)

Now I had mentioned to you before we got started here, before we started recording that, uh, in my mind anyway, Jeep babes kind of has a certain connotation about, uh, you know, like maybe women that are not wearing a lot, maybe they’re in bathing suits and stuff. That’s not the case with this. Correct?(…) That’s correct. So, uh, and it’s okay. You wouldn’t be the, um, you know, we do have, we do have a private page that is for our members only. Um, and that’s where all the, the, uh, the girls and bikinis are, right? Yes, exactly. No. So we actually have a lot of men who try to join that page, probably under the same, you know, the same premise. Um, and, and I think really, what our founder, uh, Chrissy Sykes founded us in 2017 and really what she was trying to do was turn that into a more positive connotation. You know, babes are just strong, powerful females who, you know, you’re, you you’re proud of who you are. And, um, you know, every, every single one of us is beautiful in a different kind of way, you know, our own way or unique ways. So we’re all babes. Every female is a babe.

(…)

And, um, it’s really about empowering women in the Jeep community. Um, you know, part of it was her first Jeep, uh, was a commander, I believe. Um, and you know, oh, that’s not a real Jeep and all the stuff that comes with it. And, you know, oftentimes I think females feel, uh, hesitant maybe in, in co-ed environments to speak up, um, for fear of, you know, just retaliation or, or being made fun of or, being teased, you know? And so, um, you know, Chrissy’s mission was to create a safe space for females to join the Jeep community, regardless of the Jeep that you drive, um, and just be part of some, something great, which we all, you know, we all love Jeeps. We’re all Jeep enthusiasts. And I think everybody can agree that the Jeep community is, is unlike any other, you know, you buy a Jeep and you get, you know, 200,000 new friends all of a sudden. So, um, you know, and we just wanted to create that safe space, that safe Haven for, um, for all women to feel comfortable and confident in, and to the Jeep community. So I bring it up not to, not to pick on you group. I just want to make sure that the men out there and some women too understand that it is not meant to be sexualized. This happens to be women, the sex of women trying to do things for women to get them off road. And it really is the same mission that we are Chick chat episode.

(…)

So I think that it’s, um, I’m trying to do my part, um,(…) to let the men know, calm the hell down,

(…)

treat these women like they’re Jeepers because that’s what you are. And I’m not saying that there, there may not be, I’m not saying there won’t be a situation where maybe a couple of people get along and something happens, but I would not approach it in as much as, Oh, Jeep babes. I need to go over there. Cause I thought I want me to, you know what I’m saying? We’re not in community. We’re not, you know, we’re certainly not. Yeah,(…) exactly. Exactly. And, um, I promise you, if you are, are of the male persuasion and you try to join the private group, you will be denied. Uh, again, it’s about keeping our members safe and making them feel confident and empowered in the Jeep community. And it’s not that we are, you know, anti men either. We, uh, we have partnerships with a lot of co-ed and other Jeep clubs. Um, you know, a lot of things with them. It’s just, we really wanted to create something unique and, um,

(…)

and really just create that community of women who, again, just, we love our jeeps. We want to give back. Uh, we want to make some great friends along the way.(…) I think it’s critical. Uh, there’s actually no reason for women not to be involved in the field or however they want to be involved with Jeep. Uh, and I, I, I think most men don’t want to make it, uh, keep that from happening. I think most men would like to see women involved in the situation. It just makes it more fun, especially if it’s their spouse, their girlfriend or whatever. I mean, how wonderful it is. Is it to get out there with somebody that you, uh, you like being around and not going by yourself?(…) So, absolutely. Yeah. So it, I think it’s just a good all around thing, but just guys act right. Just, just for, for five minutes, act right.

(…)

How are we going to have a couple of bad seeds? Yeah, yeah, of course. Uh, and, and it can be both, uh, both on both sides as well. It’s not just men, but, uh, for sure. I know how the men are better probably than the bad women, thankfully.

(…)

All right. So, uh, the, uh, what, what kind of, you’re going to have the show in shine. Uh, what else are you planning on doing out there at the, what, what’s the draw for people to come out besides the looking at pretty Jeep or, uh,(…) and you don’t, we don’t know yet. It may be other vehicles.

(…)

And maybe we’re trying to get some motorcycle clubs, some classic car clubs that were really inviting everybody to come be a part of this event. Um, and the, and the purpose, I just kind of want to take a step back is we’re, we’re trying to fundraise, uh, for an organization called Haven. Um, and Haven is based in Oakland County. However, their services are available to anybody. You could live in Texas, you could live in Michigan. Um, and what they do is they provide resources for survivors of physical and sexual abuse. And it could be, we don’t call it domestic. It could be partner abuse. You may not live with your partner. Um, but if you’ve been victimized by somebody, you can go to Haven and they have all kinds of resources to help support you from shelter, um, you know, homemade, like house placement, they will do, um, you know, medical exams, they will help file personal protection orders, like all kinds of things. And it’s just an organization that really has impacted a lot of people, including a lot of our members. And so each year we raise funds for them. This is our fourth year doing this event. And each year it gets bigger. Our goal this year is $40,000 raised that we can donate to Haven, um, without that’s, that’s after any of our overhead. Um, and so, yeah, it’s so kind of back to your original question, we’re going to have vendors out there. We have, um,(…) the Bertrand is in a different county that I, I can’t think of the name right now and I’m, I’m apologize, but the sheriff of the county has a band and I hear they’re quite good. Um, and they do, they’re a rock cover band. So they’re going to come out and they’re going to play at our event. Um, we’re going to have Jeep talk show out there helping us MC, uh, with Chris. Right. I forgot about that. Yeah. So we’re gonna, I’m going to hang out with Chris a little bit and, um, really it’s just a day to come out and walk around, enjoy some beautiful Jeeps, check out some great vendors, eat some delicious food, listen to some music, um, and give back. We’re also going to have some raffle baskets put together and, and you know, our members do a lot of these baskets together, but none of them are less than a hundred dollar value. Um, we also get some donated prizes. We’ve had on X deliver, um, a great, a bunch of prizes to my door recently this week. Uh, so we’ve got some really cool prizes that we’re going to be able to raffle off that will just help us raise those additional funds. Um, we also do a 50 50 raffle. Uh, so just all kinds of ways that you can come enjoy the day and give back.

(…)

Yeah. And that, that’s the main very, it’s very, uh,

(…)

definitely need to keep in mind it’s for, for a charity. So you’re, when you’re there and helping out, uh, it’s for the charity. Is there any way that people can donate, uh, to the charity for you guys, without the, maybe they can’t go to the event, but they’d still like to be able to help support the event and the charity. Is there a way you guys have anything set up to donate?

(…)

Absolutely. So if you visit our website, the JB Michigan.com that you mentioned earlier, there are, there is a show and shine tab right on the site that will give you information about the event,(…) uh, including making a donation, becoming a vendor or a sponsor of the event. Um, or if you want to enter a vehicle. So there’s links on that page for you to find all of that. Uh, or you can also visit our Facebook page, um, the public page, which is Facebook forward slash at G babes, Michigan. And that under the events tab, you’ll find the show event. And there’s information there where you can, uh, register to become a vendor. Good.(…) And just because you registered to become a vendor doesn’t actually mean have to be a vendor. This would be a way for them to donate without. Yeah.(…) So you can do any of those things through that same link. So there will be different links that say, you know, if you want to just donate, you want to be a sponsor and you can, again, there’s, you can do, you can sponsor as a family. So if you have a friend or family who is affected by, um, domestic or physical or sexual abuse, you can also do a sponsorship in their honor or memory. Yeah. I thought maybe you were giving us a loophole or something. Can’t donate directly, but you can be a vendor and not show up. Apologies. We need more vendors. We need more participants. So if you’ve got a sweet Jeep or vehicle that you want to enter, like we encourage it, please. We need, and it’s, it’s less about the contest and you having a crazy show vehicle that you’ve put lots and lots of money in. And it’s really just a way to show that you’re supporting the cause, whether you have, I have a grand Cherokee, it’s, it’s not grand Cherokee. And it’s going to be sitting there entered as well because it’s a way for me to show my support. So, um, the, uh, I would, I would assume that you guys don’t care who the vendor is. I mean, if it’s a barbecue place, uh, it’s, uh, anybody that would like to be associated with the event to be a vendor.

(…)

We are open to any type of vendor, not, you know, not just off-road based vendors. Um, we are limited on our food vendors strictly because, uh, Bertrand does have some snack bars and things that they’re going to have open that day. And we don’t want to take business. I just said barbecue cause I’m hungry and I love barbecue. That’s okay. I love barbecue too. So, uh, but yeah, we are, we are very gracious to them because they’ve, they’ve generously donated the events venue. Um, and the only thing they’ve asked is return is that they can handle the food that day. So, but yeah, we’ve got, I mean, we have all kinds of vendors. They’re not, like I said, they’re not just off-road, uh, focused vendors. We have, you know, uh, my, my daughter-in-law is going to have her salon. They’re doing pedicures and manicures on site. You know, we’ve got people that are going to sell handmade, you know, t-shirts and Jeep themed, you know, tumblers. And, um, my husband does laser etching and engraving and he’s going to have his business set up there with, uh, his custom stuff, uh, that he’s trying to cater to the event. So there will be some Jeep stuff. There will be some classic car stuff, but yeah, we’ve got all vendors from different walks of life. So we welcome everybody. Have you, have you thought about, uh, you know how you can shoot trap? Have you thought about doing the same thing, but with little ducks, they’re hard to hit. They pull.

(…)

We do have somebody who has a duck launcher. Oh, I love that in the kids area. So we, we do are putting together a kids area. We’re going to have some RC tracks out there too. So maybe that’ll be something that,(…) uh, no gunfire at the, at the, no, no, just the, just the duck launcher. I think the duck launcher is a great idea. I’ve made that joke before about modifying a t-shirt cannon to be a duck launcher for those people that don’t like getting ducks on their Jeep and they load up thing.

(…)

Those need to have some power. Oh yeah.

(…)

The t-shirts, especially the extra large, extra, extra larger, pretty, pretty thick.(…) Oh, and this is a good question. Are you guys doing any stickers? Any t-shirts that people can buy that go to the event that are, uh, that mentioned the event on the t-shirt? Cause some people just love getting the t-shirts for events like this. Yeah, great question. So yes, we actually have a bundle. Um, if you want to enter your vehicle, you can purchase the bundle that comes with a t-shirt and sticker and five raffle tickets, plus your vehicle entry. Um, and that vehicle entry gets you and anybody in your vehicle into the event. So you don’t have to pay a general admission for your, you know, as long as you got a passenger, they’re a passenger in your vehicle. Um, and you get to park your car, uh, your vehicle on the racetrack. Um, and those, so there’s a bundle, but you can also just,(…) yeah, exactly. Yep. So there will be a separate entrance for any of our show and shine contestants. And that doesn’t even limit, like we’re looking for fire departments. If you have an antique fire truck, if you have, we really want this to be a community wide event. So if you know, if you are not sure, reach out and ask us, you know, somebody said, what about a vintage tow truck? Yeah, bring it. Let’s do it. Well, it’s a family event and you know, the kids love all that stuff and all this stuff and touching and oh, absolutely.(…) So, um, the, um,

(…)

got excited about the fire truck.(…) Your fault.

(…)

So we’re saying, so the t-shirts and stickers, you can buy them standalone as well. Yeah. No, I remember what it is. So we’ve been talking and talking, we mentioned the website, we’ve mentioned where it’s going to be County and all that stuff, but I guarantee you to us talking, people have gone, Oh, that sounds interesting. Where was that again? How do I get more information? So let’s mention where it is again, because people are now paying closer attention.(…) Yes. So, uh, the event will take place again, September 20th. Uh, and that’s at the Bertrand Speedway. So it’s right off the Bertrand exit off of 75, um, in Bertrand. And it’s, it’s a quick little jaunt there. Um, and it’s, you know, it’s, it’s not quite centrally located. We like to do this in Michigan a lot. It’s, you know, not central. It’s a little bit over more. Um, but you know, it’s, it’s, like I said, it’s a great venue, lots of space. Um, no porta potties. It’s, it’s they’ve got plumbing, they’ve got running water. So I know that’s a big deal for some people sometimes. So, um, especially when you have kids. Yeah. And great parking, uh, snack bars again, lots of, lots of stuff. It’s a great venue. We’re super excited to be there this year for the first time. Now, of course you can go over to Facebook and just do a search for babes enthusiasts, public page. You can also go to their website, jbmitch.com, uh, to find out the pertinent information that when is, when does it start?

(…)

So it’s a Saturday, September 20th. It begins at 10 a.m. and we’re planning to be out there till five o’clock. Okay. So 10 to five.(…) Good, long day. What’s the, what’s the weather like in that way it’s hotter than.

(…)

Right now it’s warm and sunny out, uh, you know, but they, we have a saying in Michigan, if you don’t like the weather, wait three hours. Um, so we’re hoping for a great weather. We’ve, you know, we’ve moved the event earlier in September, later in September, and we’ve had it where it’s really, really hot and we’ve had it where the weekend before it was 80 and the weekend of the event it’s 60. So, uh, you know, I wish I could tell you what it was going to look like that weekend, but you just never know. It’s 94 here today. So it’s like 80, I think it’s 80 today. Okay. So if you’re in Michigan,

(…)

I’m actually kind of surprised he gets hot up fourth, because being a Texan, a true Texan born and raised, uh, it, it, to me, it’s always, uh, it’s always cold up there.

(…)

And that’s not the case at all. I mean, when you hear about people starting to die because of a heat wave, find out it’s always cold up there. Um, well, that sounds really, really good. September 20th, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Never know what the weather’s going to be. But there are any way. And, and if you can’t go donate anyway, I say,

(…)

yeah, I love it. We’re, we are five Oh one C three. So if you make a donation towards our events, it is a tax art off to, I always like to mention that for some of the things, um, you know, so it helps every little bit helps. Uh, so yeah, we really appreciate the support and definitely appreciate having the opportunity to talk to you a little bit more about it today. So, um, I note that you guys are there in a Jeep country where they build our beloved chain. Uh, did I read something somewhere, something you sent me or maybe on the website about, uh, are you guys being involved in some way with Jeep?(…) Um, so we are, uh, an approved,

(…)

we are approved by FCA to use Jeep in our name. Um, we, we were very careful to make sure that we did, we took the steps to do the right thing. Um, because we certainly don’t want to, um, infringe on any copyright laws or anything like that. We don’t want to get shut down because we’re doing such important work. Um, and knowing that we are getting bigger and our name is getting out there more and more, we thought, you know, this is really important for us to do that. So,(…) um, I think I mentioned you earlier, you know, we’re, we’re talking about our Michigan base group, which is 4,600 members, but we do have a worldwide chapter. Um,(…) because we have chapters across the United States, we have several other chapters, um, all the way, you know, to Oregon, as far as Oregon. So, um, you know, we knew that as we continue to get out there and the limelight and stuff, like it’s important that we’re doing things the right way. Um, so yes, we did go through the necessary steps to work with Jeep to be able to use the Jeep name in our logo, in our club name and the things that we do. You say chapters and it made me a flashback to that movie where they say, we’re the flying Elvis is a Utah chapter.

(…)

All right. So the website is J B Michigan.com. You can just go to Facebook and do a search for Jeep babes enthusiasts, a club Michigan chapter. Correct me on that if that’s wrong, but I believe that a good way of finding it. I mean, yeah, when you give people the URL, especially when it’s long like that, they zone out. So I like to try to say search for, uh, and it, I think, I think it’s more, uh, more likely to have people.

(…)

So you know how the kids love the, uh, this, the, the pictures and the social media and stuff. Uh, we’ve mentioned the website, we’ve been Facebook page. Uh, that’s, that’s every place for, for you guys. Right.

(…)

Yeah. We, uh, I had mentioned there’s, there’s only four of us manning the, the home here. So we just, we don’t have an Instagram that we also keep open. So it’s just, it is primarily Facebook based.

(…)

You got 4,600 people that you can tap and, and ask them to do some work for the charity. Yeah. You know, our members are the best. They help us out in so many ways. They’re so generous and giving, you know, we say we need raffle baskets. I say, I only need 10 and

(Bell Ringing)

Yeah. So we really try not to overburden our members. We really have the most supportive people I think I’ve ever met in my life. So,(…) well, that’s good. I will, I will, I will burden them. Now, if you’re listening to this interview, uh, Dottie could use some help. The group could use some help. Maybe somebody could start up a, I mean, check with them first. Don’t just do it on your own. Maybe somebody can start up an Instagram. I think Instagram is very important, especially for advertising and actually getting it up before the event is a great idea. Uh, it, you get those pictures up there and I’m sure you guys are planning on doing this once. So any pictures you can put up now, but to help you get people invested in it.

(…)

And you might even get on Tik TOK. Uh, Tik TOK is a great thing. Let’s say, unless they shut it down, there’s that whole shut it down.

(…)

Again. Yeah, we’ll see. All right, Dottie. Well, thank you so much for being with us here today and make sure that you give Chris a really hard time, both at the four fast and at your event. Uh, Oh, and I forgot to mention, I don’t think Chris is getting low on stickers. So if you don’t mind me saying so, you can, if you go to this event, you can find, find Chris, find Dottie. And she’ll point out where Chris is. Get a Jeep sticker.(…) All right, man. Thanks so much for being with us. I appreciate your time. Thank you so much.
