Jeep Promises “Perfect Quality” for it’s first America EV
Deliveries of the Wagoneer S won’t start unless the electric SUV is pitch-perfect!
Jeep CEO Antonio Filosa told Automotive News: “No launch if the quality isn’t perfect.” The zero-emission SUV will be assembled at the factory in Toluca, Mexico where “quality is increasing.” The company’s head honcho is close to achieving “perfect quality” but “close is not good enough.”
The electric Wagoneer S Launch Edition starts at $71,995, including destination fees. It promises more than 300 miles of range from a 100.5-kWh battery pack, which can be charged at up to 350 kW. It should take 23 minutes to go from 20% to 80%. The dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup is good for 600 horsepower, enough for a sprint to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds.
Jeep touts the Wagoneer S as its first global electric SUV as the US and Canada will be followed by other markets.
Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram Dealers are not happy
They blame Carlos Tavares. According to dealers, he’s basically traded the company’s future for a short-term financial gain that has benefited him and no one else. Stellantis disagrees.
For over two years now, the US Stellantis National Dealer Council has been sounding this alarm to your US executive team, warning them that the course you had set for Stellantis was going to be a disaster in the long run,” the group said in the letter. “A disaster not just for us, but for everyone involved — and now that disaster has arrived.”
Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator engine fires investigated by NHTSA
U.S. auto safety regulators are investigating reports that the engines can catch fire on some Jeep SUVs and pickup trucks even with the ignition turned off.
The probe covers more than 781,000 Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator vehicles from the 2021 through 2023 model years.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says in documents posted Monday on its website that it has nine complaints of engine fires from owners including one that caused an injury. A majority of the reports say fires began in the passenger side of the engine compartment.
The agency says a fire with the ignition off “can result in an increased risk of occupant injury, injury to persons outside the vehicle, and property damage, with little or no warning.”
Investigators contacted Jeep maker Stellantis NV and were told of several other “thermal events” that started at a power steering pump electrical connector.
The agency said it’s opening the investigation to determine the cause and scope of the problem and how often it happens. No recall has been issued, but one is possible.
Stellantis said it is cooperating with the investigation.

Everyone has their favorite tools
When I was growing up it was mostly Craftsman tools everywhere, you would find that occasional SnapOn wrench.
At that time the Snap On wrenches were slim and chrome, and everyone wanted one.
And if you were desperate you would get a buffalo brand.
Today there are many options, on the high end there are.
Snap On
Matco
Cornwell
Tekton tools
And a couple of others.
And the others that most of us use like.
Kobolt
Husky
Craftsman
And the ones I think most use are at Harbor Freight.
Icon & Pittsburg.
Now I love Snap-On tools, but they are not in the budget Unless I need a specialty tool.
That is something the tools trucks are great for.
I have a lot of Harbor freight tools, and if you need a tool that you are not going to use much they are great for that.
But I will say that the Icon tools are much better tools.
I still have a ton of craftsman tools, and always love a tool truck.
What I would like to know is what is your favorite tools, and what tools you are using.
