$1 million of Jeep Wagoneers stolen in SUV heist by teens from Warren plant
WARREN, Mich. A broken security fence shows the aftermath of 10 high-priced Jeep Wagoneers worth nearly a million dollars combined being stolen. Warren police say all the suspects were kids under 18.
The snapshots show the trail of damage from the latest high-priced vehicle heist in Metro Detroit. Warren police say at 3 a.m. Monday, thieves crashed a Dodge Ram through the Warren Stamping Plant fence.
They stole 10 Grand Wagoneers – which start at about $93,000 each, before sunrise.
Jeep to challenge Rivan, Tesla Cybertruck with the Gladiator EV pickup
Jeep plans to launch the electric Gladiator we’ve been waiting for. Although it won’t hit the market for another few years, Jeep hopes the Gladiator EV can fend off top-selling rivals like Rivian’s R1S and R1T and Tesla’s Cybertruck. Here’s what to expect from the electric Jeep pickup.
After launching its first all-electric vehicle in the US last month, the Wagoneer S, Jeep has bigger plans to expand in the US market.
Jeep is facing its slowest US sales year in over a decade. The rugged automaker’s sales fell another 21% YOY in the second quarter.
After peaking in 2018, Jeep’s US sales have been in a downward spiral. CEO Antonio Filosa, who took over last November, believes Jeep can finally turn things around and reach the 1 million sales threshold in the US.
Erie man gets prison term for failing to deliver on Jeep raffle, making up bogus winner
An Erie man accused of running a Jeep raffle in 2021 but failing to award the prize, and of making up a bogus winner in an effort to cover up his failure, told an Erie County judge on Tuesday that he never had any intention of hurting anyone.
“I went into this to try to make something good in the community,” 55-year-old Preston Devenney told Judge John J. Mead.
But many people were hurt by the alleged fraud, Chief Deputy District Attorney Jeremy Lightner said. They included 204 people on a list Lightner gave to the court who bought a ticket for a chance to win a customized 2021 diesel Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Willys 4×4 that Devenney was supposed to award during the Great Lakes Jeep Jam event at the Wattsburg-Erie County Fairgrounds in July 2021.
The victims also included two charities, Mission 22 and the Erie Humane Society, which were promised a portion of the event’s proceeds.
How Far Can a Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe Trailhawk Go on Electric Power Alone?
2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe Trailhawk has an EPA-estimated electric range of 25 miles on a full charge, and earlier this year, we traveled 21.9 miles on electric power alone on a mild winter day.
Temperatures were in the upper 60s and lower 70s Fahrenheit during the drive, and there was also some light rain in the area. It wasn’t the ideal conditions, but the Jeep still traveled 25.6 miles on electric power alone — spot on with its EPA estimate — before switching to its gas-electric Hybrid mode. The smooth and quiet driving experience the Jeep offers when it’s operating as an electric vehicle has been one of the highlights of our ownership, and more EV range would make the experience even better.
Jeep Talk Show Gladiator Update
I never want to be accused of fearing technical advancement but after the story of how Jeep is hoping to challenge Rivan and Tesla with a fully electric Gladiator, I’m very happy that I purchased a Gladiator when I did.
There seems to be a path away from EV mandates and leaving it up to the consumer to go ICE, EV, or Hybrid, which I think is the right way to do things.
I do understand that a segment of the population believes we are in a climate emergency and people shouldn’t have a choice. Obviously, and I think this is true for many self-sufficient people, also named Jeep owners.
