Jeeps with V8 are almost gone

I blame the EPA.  The neat thing is that it has put pressure on companies to figure out ways of generating more fuel-efficient horsepower and torque.

Hemi Grand Cherokee is history.  This leaves the Wrangler 392.  Did anyone think that the remaining V8 Jeep would be the Wrangler?  The Jeep model was never going to be a V8 if not for the Ford Bronco.

Even though it won’t have that beautiful sound of a V8 the 3.0L straight 6 certainly will have lots of torque and horsepower.

I’m still a little sad.  Perhaps we’ll see a return of the V8 as fuel prices drop, EPA is put out of business and we all breathe a sigh of relief, well those of us without asthma or other breathing ailments.

The new Jeep Compass arrives next year with both ICE, EV, and Hybrid options.  And you thought it was a nightmare asking for a part for a Cherokee

I think this is a big deal.  The consumer should be who decides what they buy and not our government.

What’s better: Jeep Wrangler or Ford Bronco?

Bronco will be the better daily driver

Bronco is a way better vehicle jeeps are just rough

I would also want to mention that Jeeps are unsafe, Broncos are much safer.

Actually Bronco has really bad crash test ratings, especially from behind. End up looking like a tin can. Jeep stands up to the text much better. Trying to pick between the two now and have done probably too much research.

If you need or want to actually go off-road and do those things, then maybe one of those vehicles is worth the trade-offs. But, you don’t need a wrangler, bronco, or a 4 Runner to get in and out of campsites or up and down a forest road. A lot of more streetable vehicles will do that type of “off-roading” just fine.

Why did you buy a Jeep?  Perhaps you have a Bronco, why did you buy it?

Jeep Easter Eggs—What, Where, and Why?

There’s something so quirky, fun, and imaginative about Easter eggs…and no, we’re not talking about the dyed and decorated kind you hunted for as a kid. Easter eggs have another meaning—hidden images, messages, and fun add-ins incorporated into a video game, movie, or car.

When it comes to Easter eggs in automobiles, no one does it like Jeep®. The renowned off-road-vehicle manufacturer goes to extreme lengths for its dedicated fanbase, incorporating countless molded pictures and secret messages into its platforms. In this guide, we’re covering some of the most iconic.

If you’ve ever wondered about Jeep easter eggs or noticed a lizard molded into your Wrangler’s wiper cowl, stay tuned for our analysis of these fun hidden finds.

Jeep Talk Show Gladiator Update

After a recent interview with Jay of Steersmarts, “Jay STEERSMARTS.COM” on August 9th, 2024, Jay offered to send me some Steersmarts parts.  After several of the JTS Team, including Greg Henderson, highly recommended Steersmarts I took Jay up on his very generous offer.  He told me to make a list and we’d speak on the phone.

A week later we got on the phone, and I told him tie rod, drag link, and trackbar. Anyone on that list, all three, or none was fine.

He started adding stuff.

The FedEx guy showed up with 6 or 7 boxes, pissed off, cause this stuff was heavy!

I know several of you Gladiator owners have reached out to me to ask what I have on my Gladiator, specifically wanting to know so they could conquer Moab.  Stock steering did fine, but ain’t nobody has time for stock steering when Steersmarts is available!
