A Show About Jeeps!

Episode 864 – Build Your Rig

Lady torches her ex-boyfriend’s Jeep

This lady torches her ex-boyfriend’s Jeep using gasoline and a lighter. She’s lucky to still be alive when an explosion and fireball erupt from the vehicle after she lights it. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, especially if they have gas and a lighter on hand. The whole thing was captured live by a cellphone camera and she’s now internet famous, for all the wrong reasons. I can’t believe someone would do something like this.

If you’re wondering if they caught her I’m sure they did. All police would have to do is look for a lady with no eyebrows and who smells like gasoline. I’m not too sure who she is or where this happened, we’re hearing Madison, Wisconsin. This is easily in the top 10 most insane crazy-ex videos of all time. She obviously didn’t think this through, to be fair a person who is thinking of torching their exes’ car isn’t thinking period.

Obviously, she didn’t realize that all the fumes from the gas she was pouring into the Jeep would ignite and create a huge fireball and mini-explosion. The fumes are just as flammable as the actual gas. Well, she certainly knows that now. Man I feel bad for her ex-boyfriend and really bad for the Jeep. I mean what did the Jeep ever do to her?

In my honest, humble, non-biased opinion nothing is lower or more despicable than a person who messes with or vandalizes another person’s car. Much less torching it! I hope she is caught and ends up not only arrested and prosecuted but has to pay for all the damages to this guy’s car and any others that may have been damaged.

What’s Up, Larry?

Building your rig on a budget.

We all want a jeep with all the options as the end goal, but we all start from a different starting point. It would be nice to be able to walk into a dealership and check all of the boxes and get all of the options and then take it out and wheel it. But as we know that is very expensive and sometimes you have to buy certain option packages and end up with unwanted features.

So then what are your options? You can always buy the lesser model. there are always aftermarket vendors, and the sky is the limit for those options. Then there are factory take-offs, that allow you to build or upgrade it to what you want from the factory parts. That’s what we did at the time I could not afford the Rubicon, so I bought the Sport S as a platform and then bought a set of Rubicon axles. That gave us a gearing and locker upgrade, at a fraction of the cost. So here are some tips for you to do the same thing. Whether you are looking at buying a new jeep or you have an older jeep, take a look at all of the factory options that are available to you.

Many times you can just go buy a set of factory takeoff axles and they will bolt right into the same location as your old axles. But always do your research. There will most likely be some small differences. On our JL we ran into things like brake lines that were different.

One thing I am looking for is a set of steel knuckles, I could go get a set of reed racing knuckles, and I’m sure they are very nice parts. We can also get a set of Rubicon Recon models, and there are a couple of other models that use them.  Both will bolt right up.

Now, if you have an older Jeep a TJ, YJ or possibly XJ there will be a ton of factory parts that you can use to upgrade your rig.

Obviously, none of them are one-ton axles. But there are many interior options like seats, drive train, and body options out there.

No, for the older rigs, I’m not sure what all crossover. But there’s always a group of Jeepers in our discord room discussing parts and upgrades.

Now I don’t know exactly which parts will exchange on the older rigs, but I will suggest if you’re looking at doing something like this check out our discord room, there are a bunch of people who are willing to help.

We were just having us discussion the other day asking about TJ axles.  It wasn’t an hour or two later someone chimed in about having a set.

You would be surprised what others take off for aftermarket parts.  If you can use those parts, you can build a nice rig on a much lower budget. It just depends on what you planning on doing with your Jeep.

Now figure out what you want and go build it.
