A Show About Jeeps!

Episode 781 – Interview Jon of Dash Poncho!

Jon P Foerster

Jon bought his 2013 Jeep Rubicon in 2017 known to his family as the “Fun Jeep” and fell in love with the lifestyle. Jon was a former Harley guy until his kids came along. He couldn’t fit the baby seat on the back…LOL. Back in Jon’s late teens he was a K5-Blazer guy down in San Antonio. His Uncle Mark, who was a prior Land Rover guy from S. Africa and had converted to the K5 lifestyle, showed him the fun off road life. They would wheel rivers and the coastal beaches. It’s always been in his blood, 4WD’s and outdoors.  This is how Dash Poncho came to be. Jon’s first month of Jeep life was great until he went on one of his first wheeling runs to an off road park. The weather was questionable but looked good enough to run topless. Upon being about 1.5 hours away from home a sudden thunderstorm came about and ruined the trip. He was caught in a 30 min down pour and there was fear about what was to come. Jon’s dash was completely soaked and flooded, and over the next couple weeks multiple issue presented themselves. The navigation stereo was immediate; lost the screen and and could not turn on or off. Next was the Electronic E-locker switch. After a $2,000 bill to replace everything, that prompted Jon to resolve the long standing problem of what happens to electronics and components in his Jeeps dash. The Patent-Pending invention of the Dash Poncho was developed. He created something small enough to fit out of the way and be ready to be deployed in a 30 second time frame, cover all the important and most expensive components in the Jeep and now Broncos. The Dash Poncho has only been on the market for barely a year. Due to the prior shipping issues for the country, the Dash Poncho was one of the Jeeping worlds newest products, and was stuck out at sea for almost a year. Now it’s available and the product has already proven, in a very short amount of time, that it is the answer to the oldest problem with Jeeps and going Topless. “What’s going to protect my expensive components if the weather goes bad.”
