Jeep Talk Show

A Show About Jeeps!

Moo! Moo! Subaru

We recently told you about a death at the Toledo Jeep plant where a worker was crushed.  Authorities have identified the man as Antonio Gaston, 53, was working on the Jeep Gladiator line, tightening undercarriage body bolts, according to a Toledo police report released Thursday. Gaston then became caught under a vehicle moving on the assembly line and was fatally injured. The cause of death was found to be crushing injuries of the torso. Gaston’s death was ruled an accident and was on the auto-assembly line. Authorities are still investigating to determine how Gaston became stuck under the vehicle.

What’s the best SUV for Off-Roading?

Everyone has their own opinion on the best off-road SUV, but would you guess it’s Subaru?

Are you going off the beaten path? Which are the best new SUVs for taking off-road? A new report from iSeeCars, a trusted resource for all things automotive, reveals that the Subaru Crosstrek, Subaru Outback, and Subaru Forester beat the competition from Jeep, Ford, and Toyota in one key area—ground clearance.

iSeeCars says, “The best off-road subcompact SUV is the Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness (9.3 inches of ground clearance), with the Subaru Outback Wilderness (SUV) being the best off-road small and compact SUV (9.5 inches of ground clearance).”

The Subaru Forester Wilderness, which is 9.2 inches in height off the ground, is second best for off-road adventures next to the Outback.

Here is iSeeCar’s list of the best off-road subcompact SUVs.

  • Subaru Crosstrek (Wilderness) 9.3 inches
  • Jeep Renegade 8.7 inches
  • Jeep Compass 8.6 inches
  • Mitsubishi Outlander 8.5 inches
  • Fiat 500X 7.9 inches

Ocean City Jeep Fest is done

Did you know that Ocean City Maryland had a Jeep Fest the same weekend of Smokey Mountain Jeep Invasion?

Car fanatics continued to make their way to the Ocean City Convention Center for the annual Ocean City Jeep Fest.

Eventgoers are enjoying the many festivities, like vendors, live music, and food, as well as customized jeep vehicles on display.

Beach crawls and sand courses were also continued as a huge tradition during the fest.

Even, though the military was there, Marine area recruiter, Karen Orozco Fuentes, said this is a great place for outreach and getting people on board to join. “It’s a great way to gather the community around, meet new people, it’s a great event, a lot of older people, but hey it’s a great way to reach out and try to talk to people in our communities.”

Driver cries after new Jeep breaks down 6 weeks after purchase.

Then it breaks down again 2 days after the repair.  The shop has now had the 2024 Jeep Cherokee 4xe for almost the same amount of time the owner has.

They had to have it towed when the rear airbag suspension failed.  Once it was repaired and returned to Kris and Hillary @fuelyourwander on the TikTak, the airbag suspension failed again after only 2 days.

Labor day plans

Where are you going this weekend?

Are you tackling a tougher trail, or something easy?

Is this a family outing or a “push yourself” on a trail?

I have a trail ride planned after the weekend to “test” the Jeep and make sure the Check engine light doesn’t come back on. I hope it’s fixed.

I’ll let you know.

Trail Welders

We have covered this some time back, but I wanted to go over some of your options for welding on the trail.

If you’re on the trail and you need to re-attach that track bar mount, what are your options?

The Bun Trail welder:

A spool flux core welder that is run off 2 car batteries. You can carry extra batteries, or pull them from your rigs.

Karnage welder.

Self-contained flux core welder that has its own power source. It can also run on 12v batteries.

Premier power welder:

This is a stick welder that is mounted in your rig, your alternator is replaced for the increased amperage that is needed.  You plug in your welding stinger to it and you can weld as long as your rig is running.  This is a good option to run several different types of stick electrodes.

With each option, there are different advantages and costs.  From $300 to $3000.

But when you broke down what would you pay?

Just don’t forget your welding hood and possibly a grinder.

On tonight’s episode in our news stories, the sad news, but we wanted to bring you an update on the Toledo plant worker that was, that died on the assembly line. He’s been identified by authorities and we have a little more information about that. And I’m just going to say it this way, Moo Moo Subaru. Oh boy.

And Newbie Nuggets, Wendy shares some ideas for the holiday trail runs Labor Day, and in fabricating frenzy, don’t forget about your trail welder with with Larry and in must have stuff for your Jeep bolt lock path lock. I was just digging around for something to talk about for must have stuff. And I found this and it really was a great idea. It was a YouTube video that I saw. And we’ll talk more about that here in just a bit.

Are you ready?

It’s time for the Jeep Talk Show with hosts Tony, Josh, Wendy and Chuck.

Well, howdy, it’s Wendy. And what are you doing for this holiday Labor Day weekend?

Hi, I’m Larry. And were you at the Smoky Mountain Jeep invasion?

There was a lot of people there. I’m kind of interested in interested in hearing what their attendance was this year. The the economy is down a little bit. Sometimes that means that more people do things. Sometimes it means people do less.

That’s kind of a get rid of the depression thing.

Yeah.

All right. So we told you guys about the death at the Toledo Jeep plant where a worker was crushed. So authorities have identified the man as Antonio Gaston 53. He was working on the Jeep Gladiator line, tightening undercarriage body bolts, according to the Toledo police report released Thursday. Gaston was then became caught under the vehicle somehow while it was moving on the assembly line and was fatally injured. So the cause of death, he was found to be crushed, having crushing injuries, injuries of the torso. So Gaston’s death was ruled an accident and was on the auto assembly line. Authorities are still investigating to determine how Gaston became stuck under the vehicle.

So what’s that payout to the family?

Yeah, I mean, it’s so strange. I mean, you know, accidents happen, but you would think that something like this would have happened in the past and remedies would have been put in place.

Well, how about like, there’s something underneath or caught, it’s not smooth. Wouldn’t the system just shut down like an auto auto stop because there’s a something, you know, pressure.

You know what I’m saying? Like something’s in the way.

One of the great store comes down and it’s killed. Yeah, they have a thing there that the pressure makes it go by.

Yeah, there’s got that line.

You can bet OSHA, you can bet OSHA will be all over that to try to figure out, you know, how to circumvent that in the past or in the future.

Yeah, and that’s a good thing. I mean, OSHA kind of takes a bad rap sometimes because they they have a tendency to screw up everybody’s fund and cost people a lot of money. But safety is important. I mean, I think that one of the reasons why the unions came into play because there was a lot of unsafe working conditions along with many, many hours for working. And that’s how the unions came about. So it’s, it’s actually good that the unions don’t have to do that anymore, that there’s an organization like OSHA that can check it out.

Yeah, everybody wants to go home at the end of the day. That’s for sure.

Absolutely. Yeah, very, very sad. We’re sorry about that.

Best wishes to his family.

Oh, absolutely. I hate that.

Prayers and thoughts for sure. Yeah. And, and of course, as we find out more, we’re gonna let you guys know here on The Jup talk show.

Alright, so I gave you a clue at the at the top of the show. What what’s the best SUV for offroading?

Let me guess Subaru.

It’s an SUV people, not an actual vehicle.

So I’ve been told I’d rather minifan.

Yeah.

Mountain ones so they have an event up there.

Yeah, maybe I’ve heard of this and forgot about it, but I had no idea that there was an ocean city,

a Jeep Fest in Maryland. And I don’t know if this is, if it’s happened every weekend, I mean every year, but this year it was at the same time as the Smoky Mountain Jeep invasion. And yeah, I mean, I can understand, not everybody’s gonna go to Smoky Mountain Jeep invasion, but if you want a crowd to go, that’s probably not a good one to have it.

They’re gonna compete against. Yeah, they’re gonna compete against.

Yeah. There’s a lot of people going to that.

Well, the only plus would be it’s like with us, we got a Jeep bash here in California coming up next weekend, you know, but that would be okay to do it the same weekend as Jeep invasion, except your vendors have to make a choice. Right, your vendors.

That’s the biggest one. Oh yeah, that’s a good example. If it’s a big enough event, you know, you gotta send two setups, that’s two levels of cost. It does, it’s a lot.

So this month, it’s gonna be hard to go up against that event too.

Yeah, that’s a big event. And this is not boating very well for the Jeep Fest, but it says, “Car fanatics continue to make their way to Ocean City Convention Center for the annual Ocean City Jeep Fest.”

But again, it’s in your Subaru. Oh, car, yeah, the Subaru people were there, that’s what happened.

So event goers are enjoying the mini festivals, vendors, live music and food, as well as customized Jeep vehicles on display. So I know we’re gonna be beating up on more people, but so this probably means 22 inch wheels,

$10,000 sound systems.

Well, you don’t know. I mean, again, Maryland, it’s at the tip of the, you know, the continent, so that’s a long drive to get down there.

No, I’m just saying that they’ve got Jeeps there.

People– You’re thinking they’re all mall crawlers instead of actual off-roaders.

This is kind of the Jeep Beach type of thing, isn’t it? With the sound system and the rubber band tires, and I mean, I’m not saying– I don’t know. I was gonna say legitimate Jeeps.

You’re getting wheeled amazing dicks in line.

You know what, Taro, you’re just getting yourself deeper and deeper and deeper.

I know, this is a bigger, bigger, better hole, a deeper hole.

Here I am trying to save it.

And I’m not gonna get out of that hole with the rubber band tires, I’m telling you.

No, you’re not, you’re not.

Because you can’t air them down.

Boy, if you’re from Maryland, you went to that event, you need to call and let us know how it is. Absolutely, yeah. Prove Tony Raung that it’s real Jeepers.

Yeah, so I’ll still twist it where I’m not wrong.

So beach crawlers and sand courses were also continued as a huge tradition during the race.

Oh, so it’s actually on the beach. I wonder if you could drive on the beach like they do at Daytona.

So they say even the military was there. Marine area recruiter, Karen Fuentes, said it was a great place to outreach and get people on board to join.

So what we need is someone from the event to give us some information about it next year.

Yes, call and let us know when it is and we’ll publicize it for you.

I think Karen Fuentes should give us a call to get her out here.

So yeah, they say it’s a great event. A lot of older people, I would’ve thought that was Florida when she said that. But hey, it’s a great way to reach out and try to talk to people in our communities, which I think that is a good thing. It’s always fun when you get out to have something to look at and ask questions about.

Yeah, and plus, if you have your own Jeep, you’re always looking for what someone else is doing. I mean, that’s what jeeping’s all about, by the way. What can I add? What do I need? What do I want? There’s always two different things.

So, oh yeah. And older relative.

Yeah.

Some sort of inheritance hitting the lottery.

Yeah, I was talking this, like I’m telling my wife, I was talking to this guy, he was an older guy. Well, he was probably my age.

(Laughs)

Oh jeez.

So you’re there. It’s a sliding scale, you know?

So you’re there. You’re the older guy now in the conversation.

Right.

Just checking something really quick. I didn’t see my audio. There we go, it’s going.

I don’t wanna take a long pause.

Well, one thing I can say about this event, and I’m not trying to dig the Great Smoky Mount Jeep invasion, but I’ve had a concern. I’ve never been. So any information I’m giving you, or any opinions I have means it’s uninformed opinion. But after going to Easter Jeep Safari, I don’t see,

unless I’m selling something,

I don’t see that going to an event that is parking my Jeep, and walking around miles is as interesting to me as driving off-road. I mean, we modify our Jeeps to go off-road. Some people modify them to be seen, and I certainly couldn’t understand that.

But there’s a lot of other reasons to go to those events. It’s picking up product, it’s getting a discount. It’s maybe you’ve been on one trail, maybe you’re trying to get enough courage to go on a more difficult trail. Those events can be very informative if you do your homework. Obviously there’s three people making the same widget. You got to figure out why is one widget better than the other widget.

That’s a great point, because then you can look at it, you can talk to them, find the story behind it.

Touch and feel. Yeah. Yeah, and then do your homework and do your research. And those discounts sometimes can be awesome. If you’ve been out wheeling and you know that you need to do an upgrade, you need a lift, you need tires, you need whatever, those events can actually save you quite a bit of money. So I think there’s different kinds of events. There’s events where you go and you get to wheel and actually go seize things and get out and do the scenery, kind of like EJS. Or there’s events like those beach things that you’re talking about where you get to go and you park and you walk and you get to see and touch and feel. It’s actually good. I think it’s a good thing to do.

Yeah, if you compare that to, so I’ve been to Smoky Mountain and I’ve been to Toledo,

both very similar type of event, right? It’s more about the vendors and everybody that’s enjoying their Jeeps. You’re not really wheeling there. I know that there’s some groups at Smoky Mountain that are peeling off and doing some wheeling in the

area, but for the most part– It’s Windrock out there, isn’t it?

Windrock, yeah.

But for the most part, it’s just about,

I’ll say enjoying your Jeep, enjoying the Jeepers, if you will, and seeing all the new vendors and everything.

It’s, yeah, driven by product for sure. I mean, that’s, and there’s all kinds of events all over the country doing that. Oh yeah, absolutely. We go to support those vendors. You go to see what’s new, but if you’re doing your homework and you’re out wheeling, then you’re gonna be looking for certain things, so.

I guess I’m just going to Moab and that event.

A spoiled you?

Yeah, yeah, because it’s like, I mean, we do so much to our Jeep and then to take it off and do things, especially in an iconic scenery area like that is, it was like the one of our, the one up there too,

where you live. What’s the– Big bear. Big, no, no, no, no, the gold mountain. Oh yeah, well, that’s big bear. Gold mountain, beautiful, absolutely beautiful. I mean, and I’m just talking about just driving around, seeing the big rocks and the trees and stuff, because you guys have huge boulders that you have to drive by. I remember we went by one rock, you probably have done it many times, and the distance between the width of the Jeep and the distance you had to get by was not very big.

So you kind of– That’s why, use your rock sliders.

Well, actually I didn’t actually touch anything driving through there, so.

No, because you were lifted pretty good on that Jeep.

Yeah, well, that’s where EJS is a lot different than most. EJS is a week of wheeling and it ends with a vendor show. True, I like that one. For the rest of them, yeah, the rest, most of the other events are a vendor show that might have some wheeling.

Well, and then you have the third event, which is local organizations and clubs like Corva, which handles a lot of our litigation to keep our trails open. There’s all kinds of different types of events that they will host maybe a few vendors, but it’s all about the trail runs. So there’s like a third level even. So there’s, I do think people sometimes don’t wanna go out, maybe they have a short weekend, they can go and look and check things out. You have to in this industry, you gotta sort of stay informed and you gotta stay sort of current, whether you’re wheeling with other people and getting your knowledge that way, or you’re going to these kinds of events like the Smoky Mountain Jeep Invasion and learning from the vendors, so.

Yeah, I mean, it sounds nice. If it was closer, I certainly would go. I just, and we’ve had this question in our round table before, as far as, is it worth going to Jeep events that there’s no wheeling associated with it? And you could go, and of course, you can do your own wheeling. And I remember asking Justin in an interview we did last year, I think, or maybe it was prior year, about a great Smoky Mountain Jeep Invasion. I asked that question, is there any wheeling in it? Because that was something that I would be interested in if I was going to a group like this. And of course, he said there’s great trails out there, there’s nothing set up by them, but you can go and do things on your own out there with your groups and stuff, which made sense.

Well, and that’s something like if I went to Toledo or I went to Smoky Mountain coming from California, I would want to wheel those trails, but then I would connect with somebody who maybe knew some areas and say, “Look, I’m here to actually run some trails.” Because how often am I going to get there? It’s like you, Tony. We live far away from a lot of those things.

Oh, well, anyway, I just found it extremely interesting that Ocean City, Maryland had a Jeep Fest same weekend as Smoky Mountain Jeep Invasions. So I guess that’s going to happen sometimes, but you would think that they look at the dates and times of other events and try to schedule it around those. Oh, and I’ll mention really quick, so coming up on September 6th and 7th, I believe you can always check the website,

For Fest Events, forfestevents.com, is they’re having an event out at, oh crap, I just brain farted on the name of the Hollyoaks, is where they’re going to have it at. That’s there in Michigan. I think it’s very close to Detroit. Chris is going to be there. And Tom,

the guy that’s in charge of For Fest Events, made a booth available, a space available, for Chris at G-tops.

So we’ve been promoting the G-tops here on the show. I’ve got a set of G-tops. Chris, Jeep Talk Show Chris has a set of G-tops. And he’s been showing them around. In fact, I think that when he showed Tom Zelensky, the G-tops on his Gladiator, that’s one of the reasons why he was interested in getting Chris and G-tops to come out there. They’re so well built. And I’ve said it before, it’s like OEM plus. So anyway, if you’re in the Hollyoaks area, which again, I believe is in Michigan, Chris is going to slap me because of course, it’s in Michigan. I don’t keep up with those states very well.

I know.

It is. It looks like Chris from G-tops is going to be out there and sporting his G-tops and the panoramic top on the main top, his brand new 2024 Wrangler. And Chris will be out there and in his 2020 Gladiator. So, and Anthony, our winner of the G-tops here a few weeks back, he may be there in his JK. So you can see what it looks like in a JK, what it looks like in a JL and a JT. So I think, and I think you mentioned this earlier, Wendy, that you like the idea of the G-tops, but you’d really like to see them to get a good feel for. It’s scary that this, the idea of having something like that, it’s scary if they’re not perfect. And, you know, I’m telling you they’re wonderful,

but that doesn’t mean the same thing as when you see it yourself. So if you’re in the Michigan area, Hollyoaks area, you might want to go out there September 6th and 7th and have a look for yourself.

Alrighty, so this was interesting.

You guys are not going to feel bad for this person, I know.

So a driver cries after new Jeep breaks down six weeks after purchase. Oh my goodness, six weeks?

And what breakdown is?

Yeah. Yeah, I think you’ll be surprised.

After it breaks down after six weeks, it gets fixed, and then it breaks down again after two days.

What?

After the repair.

The repair shop, what’s going on with them?

Well, I mean, I’m thinking this is going to be a Jeep dealership. Well, it should be, six weeks, yeah. Yeah, you know. Ooh. So you would think they would know how to work on a Jeep. There’s no guarantee, of course, but.

Sounds like my experience so far, go on.

(Laughing)

when it comes time for the welding and it’s a very nice little compact little unit that I said it just runs flux core and allows you to do that.

The other one is a carnage welder. Now the carnage welders are pretty slick little unit. Now it’s a self-contained, it comes in like a Pelican case, self-contained flux core welder that has its own power source and then if it runs out then you can plug it into batteries as well and you can recharge it and reuse it and you know keep going and it’s a pretty slick little unit because I’ve seen these, you talk about the little black box comes out goes on out on a trail,

it’s all self-contained it’s a really slick little welder and then you know I’ll just say the end all be all to trail welders, the premier power welder. Now this is a pretty slick little system, it mounts right into your rig, your alternator is replaced to cover the increased amperage so you would pull your alternator out, you send it in and they rebuild it and send it back to you and you get a box that’s mounted into your rig that you can you switch over when you want to weld. It comes with a stinger for stick welding and the nice thing about that is you can actually use different electrodes on a trail right and as long as your rig is running you’re welding, it doesn’t have the same duty cycle that the other battery-powered ones did just because you just need a running vehicle. Now if your vehicle is broke down not running well that’s another story but that premier it truly is the they catch me out as far as trail welders.

Now all different options here you know anything from the bun welder around that $300 range to their premier which I think is around $3,000 range but it just depends on you know what you’re looking for but when you’re broke down on the trail what would you pay? I’m guessing that’s probably a lot. Yeah. Now when you’re out there don’t forget to bring out bring out the other stuff as well something like your welding hood and maybe even a grinder to be able to prep the material and you know do what you got to do and sometimes you know I always like to take some little scrap pieces of steel because sometimes once you break you ain’t going to get things back in place and you can use that to stitch things back in place. It doesn’t have to be pretty it just has to work to get you off once you’re home once you’re safe or wherever then you can clean it up if you want to but the big thing is get it fixed.

You’re also going to need to bring your gloves.

Gloves too exactly.

Yeah and you know your odds are you’re not going to be welding in the greatest environment it’s going to break down in a puddle or you know some some less than desirable areas so if you’re gonna if you’re going to get one of these I would say lay on the ground and practice welding overhead.

Yeah good idea.

Because that’s that’s where the bulk of your welding is going to be it’s not going to be you standing over it at a bench you’re going to be upside down you’re going to be getting showered with sparks while you’re trying to do these repairs.

Now I would think some kind of a mat to lay on I know we have it’s kind of a thicker pad that folds for any kind of repairs any kind of checking a Jeep and just half the time we’re in not gravel but sort of uneven rock it could be sharp you just don’t know so having that again if we’re going to be welding you could be there for not a minute you’ll be there for several minutes if not a while you’re gonna wish you had something to be laying on.

And also too depending on how what the situation is you could be there while just trying to get it to get to it to weld it properly and to penetrate and to stick. Exactly. It says the guy that’s never welded a damn thing in his life.

Yeah you know another thing to be it’s handy to take is you could buy him from my Harbor Freight these welding blankets they’re fiberglass so obviously you don’t want to lay on it and ask me how I know but you can stuff you can stuff it up in the engine bay or wherever you’re trying to weld that way you’re not possibly lighting other things on fire.

Well that’s a good point too. Do you put anything on your head or just wear a baseball hat underneath the hood? What do you do to protect your hood?

I always well wear like a welders cap under it just like a skull cap if you will then the hood goes on it. Now I’ll tell you one that I’ve really found that I like on it when I take out is a yes welder it’s pretty much just a face mask right it isn’t that big bulky welders hood that you typically see and what’s nice about that is I’ve been under my jeep to do something go to flip the hood down and there’s no room for that right it just thud it won’t come down but that face mask welder I mean you can get way up inside of there and it makes it really nice so like I said that yes welder face mask a welding helmet you can you can pop it off and just wear the goggles because it’s a auto darkening or you can put the face shield on it it’s really nice.

I would think too like myself having long hair if you’re a girl you need to think about what’s happening with your hair because if you’re upside down and the sparks are flying that’d be a concern for me.

Absolutely and you they do make I’m gonna say like leathers for that so it’d be uh man I don’t I don’t know what to compare to other than like a nun’s hobbit or habit whatever you call it just over your head completely.

I like the nun’s hobbit it’s a mixing between religion and token sense.

I never said I wasn’t a hoosier never said I wasn’t a hoosier so

I love it very good information Larry thank you.

All

From the mind of Nicky G!

Hey this is Nicky G and I just caught the episode the cowboy in a kilt where Greg and Chuck talk back and forth about all kinds of stuff. And I thought it was very interesting. Hard to hear Chuck and not be too 30 in the morning. You know what I’m talking about but the title the cowboy to kill kind of sounds like a 70s cop show. All we need is the police commissioner going I got the bear breathing down my neck about your two shenanigans.

That’s not what I’m calling. I’ll tell you that my doctor suggested I go on an all almond diet. Yeah that just sounds nuts to me. All cheese.

All right boys and girls I’ll tell you have a good one bye.

Yeah how do you milk a nut is the thing.

Well it depends on the nut.

I don’t know but the cowboy that killed my mind went to that what was it McLeod the the uh the cowboy sheriff that was in California for a while back in the 70s. I’m just imagine Chuck on a horse.

And that was the interesting thing because Peter Falk and Columbo and they changed it. It was like every week it was a different one. So it was it wasn’t even like the same show every week. You got to pick from like Macmillan and wife and people are going damn you’re old. Macmillan and wife uh with and then Peter Falk with Columbo and then there was the the one with Dennis Weaver. What was it called? McLeod that’s right. And I think there was a fourth one that I can’t remember.

But Cojack.

Was it Cojack? I thought Cojack was on all week. I don’t know but yeah anyway.

Well yeah the only thing I want to say about that episode Nicky G is that I thought we were doing something funnier this year but maybe I missed that memo. I don’t know because nuts and all I don’t know about that one.

Yeah that was there you go. That was a little a little not there. All right speaking of things that are there we’re going to have another interview this coming Friday and this week’s interview episode is with Robbie Bryant of Overland America. That’s overlandofamerica.com. I don’t think I said that right. The Overland of America and overlandofamerica.com. You got to put the “ob” in there. And you guys need to listen to this. I know you listen to every every interview episode and we really appreciate that. But you got to pay attention to this one. This is and I’m and I’m gonna it’s gonna disappoint you when I tell you this. This is his first overlanding event that he’s having. But listen to the interview and hear all the stuff they’re doing on the very first try. This guy we talked a little bit about his background. He’s he’s not new to this. This isn’t Travis putting on a show in a barn. This is somebody.

God you’re gonna hear about that. Oh my god.

Travis has got a big smile.

He’s gonna go what the heck.

Yeah you guys have to join the the zoom meeting on Tuesday night so you get the zoom with the Travis reference. Anyway so but this is a big event that’s going on. You need to check it out and I think if you go I want to hear about it because it sounds like it’s gonna be just fantastic. I mean family, kids, adults, they’re gonna have classes for off-roading, winching, all kinds of crap. I can’t believe it. Where’s it being held? I think it’s Oklahoma. So if but if you if you have that question too just go to AmericaOverlandOfAmerica.com and you’ll see but I believe it’s in Oklahoma which is not. Yeah Oklahoma. Because it’s centrally located.

Yeah Oklahoma that sounds interesting. There’ll be a lot of Subarus there though.

Just kidding.

I don’t know.

I’m sure there will be. All right let’s talk about must-have stuff for your Jeep. So I was digging around for something to talk about on this this episode and I went over to the the YouTubes. You kids love the YouTubes and I just look for a just a you know stuff for your Jeep type thing.

And I found out I found a YouTube video and shout out to Dirt Road Cred. It’s the R-E-D like in credit for this week’s stuff for your Jeep idea. One of the 20 things that they talked about literally they were having 20 different things that they in that video that you could you could do to your Jeep. But one of the ones I thought was a really good idea and it’s not just for the Wrangler is he had found a box not a locking box but one that could you could put a padlock on. It was plastic so you know it’s it’s just an inconvenience. Anytime you do security on anything out in the world it’s just making it inconvenient. So anyway for the the would-be thief. So he had this box and he was just using it so he could put all kinds of stuff that he wanted to keep in there with the top off and trying to keep it you know this is going to be there when he got back to his Jeep. And he got this half-inch heavy duty security cable looped it around the the roll bar and the the back of the gladiator I’m sorry the back of the Wrangler and he put a bolt lock padlock on there through the little hole and through the little loop of the cable. And I’d forgotten about the bolt lock stuff. I love the bolt lock stuff because you can you can make it fit the key for your Jeep so you don’t have to keep up with a big ring of keys.

Like extra keys you make.

You just you buy it you stick your your Jeep key in there and turn it and now it’s keyed to that key.

So I have a hitch lock from them. Yeah it works great.

Bolt locks are just are great. If you guys don’t know about bolt lock you need to need to learn about it. So anyway this is what the must-have is is the bolt lock padlock for cross your Dodge Jeep and Ram keys. It’s 25 bucks which I think for a padlock a good padlock that’s not that’s not too bad. Yeah you can get

You’re my friend, you’re my new friend.
