Departure Angle

When viewed from the side of the vehicle, this is the angle between the ground and a line running directly to the lowest hanging part on your vehicle (usually the rear bumper). This is the maximum angle that a vehicle can descend without hitting the rear bumper or other component (like a trailer hitch) when coming down off a steep ledge or obstacle.
