Episode 677 – Alan Clawson – Yankum Ropes

Alan Clawson

Alan has been the founding owner of Yankum ropes since 2016, the whole thing started when his passion for music and off-roading collided with a 80 series Landcruiser that was big enough to haul the drum set to gigs. Alan met his wife Andrea and they kept the off-roading tradition strong while trying to find a way to fuel the addiction. As Alan was working as a truck driver he decided to change career directions and start looking into off-road ecommerce opportunities, through hard work late nights and lots of Redbull and a few short years Yankum Ropes was born but the ambitions only grew. Andrea was the creative genius for the Name Yankum Ropes. Jade Schenk is Alan’s other Partner in crime and who helped bring the company out of obscurity and manage the complexities of rope and business. The big kick was our introduction to the world were several youtubers like Matts off-road recovery, Heavy D, and Millennial Farmer to name a few. Now Yankum Ropes has grown to manufacturing status and is building slings and soft shackles in house. But the really exciting news, we are becoming a cordage company!
