Jeep Brings Back The 2025 Wrangler V6’s Discontinued Automatic Transmission Due To High Demand
Team member Bill said “I told you so”
Jeep says the eight-speed auto is returning to the Wrangler lineup because of customer requests and the brand’s commitment to listening to them.
Despite the brand’s troubles, Jeep has a tendency to actually listen to its typically loyal customers. When Jeep customers want something they let the brand know, and that’s paid off for 2025. Just three months after announcing it would be discontinued, Jeep says it’s bringing back the automatic transmission to the V6-powered Wrangler, and it’s all because fans were asking for it.
Back in September, the brand announced that for the 2025 model year, if you wanted a V6 with your Wrangler, you’d have to row your own gear to get it.
The brand made the six-speed manual transmission the only option if buyers choose the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine. An automatic was still available, you just had to either get it on the base turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4, the plug-in-hybrid 4xe or the 392 Final Edition with a 6.4-liter V8.
Jeep reversing course is all because of customer demand as Bob Broderdorf, senior vice president and head of Jeep North America, explained
We recently reported that former Jeep CEO Christian Menuier is joining Nissan to head up North and South American operations. Well, I saw today that Nissan and Honda are in merger talks. Geez Christian hasn’t even started the new job yet!
Tire Repair
We spoke about tire plugging on Wednesday’s Round Table episode. Natalie, do you guys at Highlift Off-Road have tire repair kits?
LED lighting
You don’t have to spend $1000 for the LED package for your new Jeep. Is that still a thing? That’s what it was in 2021 when I ordered the Jeep Talk Show Gladiator. I purchased LED replacement bulbs. For example, the backup lights were $12.98 for the pair. With LED headlights and 9” to 7” adapters, I believe I spent less than $200, with the majority of it being the adapters and headlights.
When the average auto enthusiast pictures influential personalities in the automotive scene, they’ll likely gravitate toward names like Carol Shelby and Gale Banks. Rarely would an enthusiast reference an athlete like former NBA superstar Dwyane “Dwade” Wade.
However, throughout his illustrious career aboard the Miami Heat, Chicago Bulls, and Cleveland Cavs, Dwyane Wade didn’t hide his love for fine automobiles. The acclaimed point guard has continuously maintained an impressive garage, at one point topping out at over two million USD.
In this feature, we’re covering Dwyane Wade and his vehicle collection, including his early life, NBA career, standout rides, and relationship with your favorite retailer, RealTruck.
