While not included in the price, Mopar also encourages owners to explore the optional $2,095 two-inch lift kit and the $1,545 tube door option, since why not try and reach for an eighty grand MSRP?
Owners can also expect a Mopar kit that features a personalized certificate of authenticity with the serialized vehicle-build number, as well as a digital rendering of their vehicle, and a gifted 83-piece JPP reusable tool kit that’s expandable for custom or additional tools as well that’s seemingly valued at around $540. The ’24 Mopar Jeep should be in select dealerships this month.

Jeep Talk Show Gladiator Update
Last week I spoke about not getting overly excited about buying mods for your Gladiator just because you picked a good one.
I think it’s like winning a big hand in poker and you just have to keep going while you’re hot!
Lost house, family, and underwear later, well I digress.
With that in mind, I’ve been looking at additional protection by adding more skids!
Now you may say, WHY?!?!?! The Motobilt skid system covers at least 85% of everything under the Gladiator, well what about the lower control arms? Where they mount to the frame.
I think I have found good bolt-on front and rear lower control arm skid plates.
$279.95 buys you ¼” thick steel, black powder coat finish.
While I was on the site I noticed they have these skids for the TJ/LJ, XJ, JK, and of course the JL.
¼” steel, which should keep from bending over those lower control arm ears. I’ve already done some damage to my lower control arm rear passenger.
You’re never done with the modifications, and that can be frustrating and fun at the same time.
What do you think are good LCA skids? What about weld-on vs bolt-on?

It doesn’t matter You should have seen my day So strap in grab your favorite beverage and get ready to laugh learn and have a damn good time We guarantee that after listening to us you’ll have a sudden urge to go buy a Jeep and hit the trails Don’t say we didn’t warn you Well tonight’s episode in our news stories, you know, it was bound to happen special edition gladiator I mean gladiator I’m there but wait till you hear what the price of this thing is In our Jeep gladiator update skids is this not from the streets and underwear anymore?
In the must-have for your Jeep We’re going to be talking about a brand new to warn Warren which Natalie’s gonna be talking about that. I’m excited guys big surprise at the end. Stay tuned Are you ready?
For the Jeep dog show with host Tony Josh Wendy and Chuck
Not I know you’re not Tony you’re definitely not Josh and you’re not Chuck and you’re not Wendy So you’re none of those that was listed in the the opening I’m not not yet. We’re almost there guys. We’re almost there But I am Natalie I’m from Hilah Off-road where we build your dreams and keep them going
So I’m excited to be back on the show Tony. Thank you. Oh, of course But thank you for being here and agreeing to do so Yeah, I mean against my will just a tiny but that’s okay I like that. That’s it makes it a little more interesting It does well, I did just want to say I know it’s been a busy week already It’s only Thursday, but I did just want to recognize from behalf of high lift We did have the passing of Alice in Parliament last weekend hit the community pretty hard I know we’ve all been discussing her beautiful life, even though it was a little bit short But we at Hilah Off-road really appreciate the joy and the positivity that Allison brought to the community in such a time When we really needed it and who knew a real little rubber ducky would really be the one So Allison we just really appreciate everything you did and we hope we can carry on All that joy and positivity that you were creating So let me ask you if you were involved in a not so nice situation. It wasn’t horrible It was just a bit scary a Canadian if you can believe that I actually put her hand put the put on her but put their hands on Allison because it was She was looked as an American with a rabid kovat carrier coming into Canada And there was just that that visceral reaction to her invading the country which she’s a Canadian So but you know, that’s kind of the downside to doing things aggressive You need to get all the all the information before first, but anyway And she came up with this positive thing Natalie, I don’t know if you’ve if you’ve ever thought about this If you were going to do something similar, I’m not saying this we would do this instead But yeah a duck and a Jeep. I mean, I guess it worked out because that association was made But can you think of something else that might be more Jeepy that you would put on a Jeep? I mean I I’ve tried to think of it I can really can’t think of something that would be something that says Jeep or something that is like clearly This is being placed on a Jeep because of I know you know what I mean I don’t you know, I don’t I wish I could be that creative. I mean Broncos have the horses Right now they’re doing a little like, you know bucking Bronco things and which the ducks were first but I mean I I’m so impressed with her creativity and You know ducks do make people rubber ducks do make people smile. So what a great thought I mean, maybe a little bit of mud splatter like I would just find a rock but those are dangerous I think I keep like a rock I think I just realized that I think I just remembered this and again of the there’s a bit of an age difference in us But did you ever watch the pie pie cartoons?
The reruns of course I did too they were made in the 40s
The age thing was going but do you remember do you remember Eugene I Don’t so there was a little there was this creature. It was like it kind of looks like a monkey but not really
Eugene the Jeep
So we should get you jeans and put them on Jeeps Because there’s a connection there. I mean, you know, there is a connection there I want to take anything away from Allison, but that to me that would be a more Jeep II thing and And the kids would wonder what the hell is this and then they would watch Popeye and eat their spinach Yes, we had to meet that spinach get strong
Eugene the Jeep, of course and you know That’s one of the things that people come up with that that was what the how the the Jeep name got associated with the military Jeeps because Eugene could pop in and out
Going places so Eugene could go anywhere
Why did you know? Yeah. Yes. Oh my gosh Tony this is why I agree to do these with you. I learned something new every week Natalie was bound to happen
Mopar is making I think it I think it’s actually out Mopar is making a special edition Jeep Latteater pickup. Are you excited? Tell me the truth. I mean Yeah, don’t want something else to modify so yeah Well, you can’t really modify this one because it being a special edition That means they’re they’re lumping all the Mopar aftermarket shit on it They are gosh, you never know we might have a hand on that. Oh boy So Mopar customized gladiator pickup using factory catalog plus a wide of sweaty money is all you need to own one now I’m not well, I’m gonna look excited and try to get ahead of myself here So since 2010’s the Lantis parts known as Mopar has released special limited gladiator editions Accustomed 2024 Jeep Latteater pickup is the one they’re releasing this time featuring some of the optional Jeep and Mopar items from from Mopar Can I say Mopar one more time? Thank you. I just did Mopar Mopar Mopar So you can own one of the total 250 special edition gladiators And it’s even marked as to which one of the 250 you have So it’s like that it’s like that little photograph, you know where it says, you know The prints where you had the one over the two numbered painting. Yeah Wow that exclusive feeling I’m feeling it out right now makes you feel it makes you feel special because when you spend The hundred thousand dollars for a vehicle. It’s not the same thing
Nobody knows what a number on it. I want to know where it was in the line I want to know all the things and you’ve got to wonder when they do something like this who gets number one because you know, it’s not that’s not gonna be offered to the public that somebody is is paying a premium to get the number one or somebody at Stellantis is getting that and putting it in the garage or or something like that and often wonder – just because We can only afford one or maybe we came in afford one that doesn’t mean there’s not people out there that could afford to buy all 250 That is very true You have to have a pretty big Barna Minium to put that thing in
So I’m just thinking that would be really rough if somebody says oh, yeah. Yeah, I want all those here Here’s an extra. Here’s an extra. Yeah, here’s an extra million dollars to sweeten the deal But yeah, what’s so special about it? Tell me well number one is the numbering thing and they have I think it’s the cover on the engine that plastic bit that I don’t know why it’s there I guess it makes it look prettier It actually has on there like the picture that’s in this article says one of 250 I just think that’s really cool And that’s really and then you what you have to do is when you’re showing it off to somebody you have to think of a reason Open the hood so that they see that not not not specifically say oh, yeah Look, this is the number that happens, you know, you need to open the hood So it’s just like you get a himmy in a gladiator. You gotta open the hood
There’s no there’s no fun and just you know, just driving it around you have to rub it in their faces
So the 2024 a mobile Jeep starts with the Rubicon trim of the gladiator pickup which comes with a 3.6 pinestar V6, you know, they should have put a 392 in this that they wanted to do something special just saying And it’s good for 285 horsepower and 260 feet pound of torque linked to a six-speed manual Transmission as standard now, that’s something I would not have expected Especially with all the standard transmission and clutch problems. They’ve had with the JL and the JT’s but Apparently that’s what they’re doing here So this might be a barn to medium Situation you might want to stick it in there for the thing explodes or catches on fire So the standard gladiator Rubicon starts at fifty eight thousand eight hundred and twenty five Man, what they need to put a dot nine nine on the end of that so, you know You can get it as close to eight twenty six as possible and Mopar’s custom truck option closer to the Rubicon X Which starts at sixty five thousand two hundred and eighty five will cost More than either setting you back a stiff seventy two thousand one hundred and eighty to start I know I’m still that’s that’s a lot of money Understand that you know jeeps and business to make money but and there’s people out there with lots of it You may know a few I know a few but It ain’t me. I mean I didn’t buy a Rubicon gladiator because I couldn’t afford the thing. I got a sport s and and I think I smartly picked options and like the max toes so I could get the the Rubicon axles without the lockers and So on and so forth. I mean I can build it up over time and I think it’s kind of I think that’s kind of the Fun thing too. I mean, I don’t know. I don’t know if everybody’s like that I think some are I mean is we more and more we we are selling parts, which is amazing But we we don’t have to install them. We want you to come in We want you to talk to us about the parts But then you can just walk out of the store with them after you after you pay of course But it’s fun. That’s the fun part about jeeping and having that garage time We try to talk to garage time a little bit last week, but that really makes it more fun Yeah Oh, I think it’s cold because that’s one of the neat things about jeeps is you get to make it your own and even if You’re just buying parts from from third-party aftermarket folks. Yeah, it’s still your decision about who you’re gonna put in there Lockers, for example, there’s a wide range of lockers available If you if you want to put lockers in your in your Jeep And I think that’s just a very handy tool to have available You may not use the lockers, but it’s just it’s a great option to have in case you need to use them And of course they come standard in Rubicon’s But they but they’re electric lockers and I’m not a knee locker fan I like the the air lockers the air bees I don’t like the air portion of it because that is a potential stumbling block if it fails But I love the build quality on the ARB lockers And if you’re gonna put something that requires 900 to 12 hundred fifteen hundred dollars to install for just one I don’t want there any there be any reason why I got to pay that again because it has to be Has to be replaced or a seal has to be replaced or something like that I mean it happens, but I won’t I don’t want that touched is As little I want to touch as little as possible
Exactly. So do you guys you guys install lockers there at high lift off-road? Don’t you we do we do and we use a lot of Yukon gearing? There’s some my favorite. That’s what I think is William my my build coming up soon We’re doing a little bit of an overhaul But we do a lot of locker install a lot and more and we will help you put them on a Dana 30 It’s very feasible. It can be scary But as long as you respect the 30 has I like to say You can really get a lot of positive use out of it. Yep Yep, and a lot of it has to do at least this is what I’ve learned a lot of it has to do with how much Tire you put on that. So if you keep the tire size down like for example I have a Dana 30 in my my Jeep Cherokee and I also have an air locker That’s waiting to be installed in it But it is an ARB I already have a rear locker in the in the the Cherokee and it’s not a Dana 35. So no, I didn’t Put a locker on a 35 but the the Dana 30 if you go 33 is locked and if you if you’re careful You shouldn’t have any problems with the with the Dana 30 Locked and that’s a great thing about front locker Well, it depends on how you talk to but yes, generally speaking The rear locker is going to be used more than the front locker But there are situations where you might want to use the the front locker over the rear But it at any rate you can wheel successfully hell I know a guy that has a Cherokee with the Dana 35 That’s locked and he’s we’ll do it. There we go a lot and it’s never broken on him. So yeah
It’s intelligent driving it’s not bouncing off the rail of a limiter and going through You know mud at 95 miles an hour People like seeing that but I mean, maybe they’re the same ones that like working on it too or they have a Videos lately of that and I’m just like no I’ve taught you guys so much better. We don’t do that My first off-road vehicle first four-wheel drive ever owned was a 1985. I’m sorry 1983 Chevy short wheelbase pickup up at 37 inch tires on it and All back then it was all just mud. I didn’t know anything about no rocks and I went to a mud pit and there’s one that somebody was building that stopped building it But it was still available for people that didn’t mind trespassing and I went down cutting the mud pit and I got it up to at least the the the top of the axles and The tires, you know halfway up on those 37. Oh, yeah, and I did that in four-wheel high and I couldn’t Couldn’t move it was I was just you know spinning and of course I didn’t have lockers I didn’t know what lockers were it was a four-wheel drive and who knew it was a two-wheel drive one up front one alternating up front one alternating mount in the back and So I I just looked at my passenger I said not a problem and I never done this before I said not a problem and I reached down and put it in four low And it just crawled right out and I was hooked Just the idea of having this vehicle that you can go places where people regular people people without superpowers couldn’t go Exactly. The Jeep is our superpower. Exactly. So Yeah, but anyway, it was just so much fun to be able to do that with a vehicle And that’s what really got me hooked and I didn’t get a Jeep till many many years later So getting back to the damn point Well That’s all we do here is rabbit holes so the the other things that come with this this build is a Mopar heavy-duty rock rail with step assist. I wonder if this is I wonder if this is a rocks light engineering thing. I Wonder, you know because they sell those at the Mopar performance thing now. Yes, they do Yeah, so but it’s we love those steps Tony But that’s just that’s this weird that they wouldn’t say, you know rocks light engineer But you know whatever a triple hoop grill guard three piece and body colored hard top a tri-fold Hard Tony ear. I never can’t pronounce that word. How do you? Josh always rolls his eyes and he pronounces it for me Spray on bedliner and I’ve heard that the spray on bedliner isn’t as good a quality as you can get aftermarket But but yeah, it’s there which is nice front and rear grab handles and custom Mopar badging and trail graphics like on the tailgate inside the 2024
Mopar gladiator features custom headliner black trim and all-weather formats. You can also get painted 17 inch wheels
Wearing all-terrain tires while not included in the price Mopar also encourages owners to explore the options of course, they do 2095 two inch lift kit and the
$1,545 tube door option You know that’s it’s probably not a horrible price for tube doors, especially getting them from from Stellan to smoke or whatever and The the two inch I’ll just tell you that the two inch lift kit you can get that all day long for about $1,600 the Mopar to lift kit that’s not installed But the cool thing about this is you can get a fully functional two inch lift
gladiator Again, if you don’t mind paying 72,000 190 plus the 2095 plus the 1545
Plus
So owners can also expect Mopar Kip to feature a personalized certificate of a authenticity authenticity Help me this is where the price tag is justified. I want that certificate. Oh, can you imagine? I mean, what would you do that? Would you keep that in a? Safe deposit box. I mean because I’m afraid it’s going on the wall. What if there’s a fire?
It’s the first well next to the cats as we all know I have now I would grab the cats and then my frame
If the smoke didn’t get you first so Anyway a certificate of authenticity vehicle build number as well as digital rendering Oh my god a digital rendering of their vehicle and a gifted 83 piece JPP reusable toolkit that’s expandable or custom additional for custom additional tools as well That seemingly is valued around five hundred and forty bucks. It’s it comes with 632 10 millimeter sockets, so you never run out Thank You Jeep performance parts
and You know actually that the Allison should have come out with a little rubber duck that you could break open Because it had a 10 millimeter socket in it. Yeah an emergency duck The emergency duck Oh Tony you’re on the something the 24 Mopar Jeep should also Be in select dealerships this month So you can go you can go touch one tell them to open the hood and see what number it isn’t Oh, I was willing to buy if it was one of 250 Yes, I really do want to know where the number one Jeep is going like I hope maybe if they’re listening if you guys get It will you please email call rights in the pigeon? We’d love to know I’d like to know what it what it takes to get that number one Jeep on any of those bills I’m gonna see if I can find out let’s see what I can do This might be a common thing with them numbering the special editions Maybe I just haven’t paid attention or maybe I know what it was They actually had a picture on this article that I got all this information from They had a picture of that engine cover and then it so it means I didn’t have to read the whole article I just could see the picture go. Wow. I know what that is. That’s cool Yes, well, it’s a cool place to put it. That’s a really smart idea It needs to be on the outside damn it and that certificate needs to be hung inside the gladiator Like an air freshener just turn it into an air freshener
Oh What would be the what do you think this smell for a Jeep air freshener would be? Don’t tell me it would smell like Eugene because we don’t know what Eugene smells like I’m Eugene I think is gonna smell like well spinach But I feel like it should be like a pine smell right you would think so like outside You know, yeah, that would be my ideal candle scent if it was it said Jeep on the candle pine Or you know really manly like a man smell Oh Irish spring There it is
The ideal man, oh you clean too much I can tell All right, well Jeep is not clean though Tony sorry to interrupt you but it is that’s Michael Bailey There’s a lot of requirements. I brought that Jeep in
All right, so this is never exciting news about recall recalls But we report on them from time to time so Stellantis recalls
1.16 good. God just make it 1.2 million vehicles over rear view camera issue
What were they seeing back there you think nothing I Mean you got to do what the NTSB mo us ease that tells you to do but really a rear camera issue I Mean my Jeep still doesn’t have one so I guess I have an issue But the doesn’t the the your model you had didn’t come with one or did it not mine did not I have the 2017 sport so but I have electric windows, but not the camera Well, that’s interesting, you know Yeah, so I didn’t have the time I opted for the non-touch screen because I was afraid of getting it wet. So Now I know it was built for that. This is what I didn’t know. Oh, I didn’t know that you didn’t have a touchscreen now 2017 so it’s a JK is a JK Right cuz 2018 I think was that the first year that was JK or JL’s It was I was a split year. Yeah, I was my Jeep was born in September of 2017
I don’t know a lot about JK’s was only in one once
so I’m kind of like all the way all the way to the TJ no JK really any information and then of course I know things about the JL and the JT. I mean, yeah, basically the JT is
It is the tank. I feel that way even mom and I mean, I’m so grateful to drive our shop vehicles There’s the shop JL’s and they’re very well made. Oh, that’s it. I get it’s like a luxury vehicle Yeah, and then I get back in my JK and it’s like yeah, so do you do you get in the JK enemy? I know you love it, but do you get in the JK and go? Oh, I wish I had this or I wish I had this the things that you miss from the JL Because they the JL’s have really I mean they’re they’re so luxurious and especially the way high lift built theirs It is in Michael’s vision and he definitely has a vision a little sometimes a little bit bougie But it’s bougie that works and that is very capable You know, I don’t have the bar tax seat covers and those things that padding at those do like I do miss those When I get back in mine So, you know is sometimes it’s those little pieces those little add-ons that make every all the difference Now you mentioned Mike and Michael a lot tell our listeners who Mike and Michael is Mike and Michael are the same person sometimes I’m more formal and call Michael that must mean he’s in trouble Michael Bailey is the owner and the brain behind Hilah Foff road And he keeps us all going and the Graves and Sunny area and beyond we said a Jeep gets shipped up from Florida So it’s pretty fun. We kind of we help we help everyone and we’re not just Located in Ohio we’re everywhere So you you you went over that really quick as far as you said something about a Jeep shipped from Florida So you’re having you’re having a somebody some owner of that that Jeep is shipping the the Jeep up to you guys to do something Yeah, we’re gonna help them with some gear issues and things like that They heard about us in another shop down south did they told about us as well, which was very nice of them Uh, so, you know traveling and you know going to different shows like um, smoking mountain Jeep invasion um, you know things that we’re able to meet so many different people and so many different vendors and um other people in the industry so we can Tie all that in and be coast to coast now I don’t want to ask you any time I ask you something uh that something you can’t talk about or you just This one pissed me off to say I can’t enter that or pass So about what does it cost to ship a vehicle? Uh to your shop and of course it’s it’s round trip as long as they pay the bill, right? It is, you know, it just depends so I can give you a couple answers shocking. I know Park is fine. Obviously. Well, I mean just locally if we’re doing something locally, so we will pick you up within about a hundred mile radius Um, it’s just shy. Yeah, I just shy about 200 And then shipping wise like I know when I ship if I ship eight Jeeps Uh to say Kentucky by a semi truck. That’s about 1700 So it just kind of depends that is not bad It’s not bad. Jack Cooper. They’re pretty awesome. Um, big shout out to them They help me make the world go around when we’re doing a lot of logistics and shipping and trains planes and automobiles We do we we kind of ship in all different ways. Yeah um, so
so, uh Is this something that you you get a get several Jeeps that need to be shipped before you ship them or do you ship one Jeep? At a time potentially we’ll do one Jeep. We’ll do one Jeep. Um, the the big loads are when we do our expedition trips with the high-lift crew Um, so so what you’re saying is it could be between $200 and 1700. I mean if a Jeeps are 1700 We’ll just do two groups. We’ll say 2k. Let’s just go up to 2k because you know gas prices just keep going up So that’s a that’s a political conversation for another day. But uh, yes So, I mean that’s to me it’s really hard to find somebody that you can trust to work on your baby, um, and And I personally would not I would not like the idea of my baby being shipped across the country but yeah, if if you have the druthers of you can’t find anybody locally and You’ve heard or you’ve had work done with high lift off-road before Uh, and and you know that you can get there and get back to you and be exactly the way you need it because that’s the other issue too, isn’t it because you could be concerned that the work wasn’t done properly and then now you’re stuck with it What are you gonna do drive it back up there or ship it up there again?
Exactly. That’s gonna be a lot of pressure our time. Yeah, it’s gonna be a lot of pressure on you guys, too Uh, it is I mean, you know, we make sure we put we we drive them uh You know once with the engine swaps or the regears and you know the 500 mile rule and you know We really take the time so is this make sure is this like a ferris bueller’s day off drive where you just go and do all kinds of things
sometimes
Um, I I’ve mentioned amy before from new hampshire. She brought she was driving by the shop. She has a brand new reg gladiator. Hey Um, and she wanted that 392 engine spot put in it. So we did all that Um, and she has a gps in it. They come with gps now and she’ll text me and she goes natalie What are you doing with the jeep? I just I just got a notification I had an acceleration warning and I was like i’m just testing the steering like we’re just getting your steering wheel corrected Uh, you know, but I love that because it’s kind of nice that you can monitor no matter where you are Um, and we do pull several in and out of the shop daily and she’ll text me. Uh, the jeep just moved What are you guys doing with it? I’m like, oh hey, mate. We’re working on it girl I bet she’s got the same thing on her husband. What do you think? absolutely She’s monitoring. She’s monitoring heart rate just to be careful All right, well anyway back to the the the rear cameras I know Way off of that thing we did it’s okay. So uh, the the what’s the deal with Rear view cameras. There’s this thing called a mirror that we always used when I was a kid What is that? You look up you hit reflective it requires zero power
It’s it’s even better than a turn signal indicator which requires power so, uh The the government had mandated, uh, these rear view cameras
I mean i’m not complaining that I have additional ways to see behind me especially in a a little pickup Uh, because it’s nice, especially when you start lifting things, but is it really necessary? Can’t you just?
Pay attention and look through your mirrors and back up. Is it really something that requires a recall? Uh, it it does surprises me and you’re you’re from a younger crowd. What do you think about the rear cameras? You don’t have one. I mean, but you do have don’t have one. You do have
The high lift jeeps you do have one I do and um, and you know, some of them do now you can turn on your front camera while you’re driving So you can see that way too and well you get those pictures So I mean you get those to take pictures about how close you got on the guy in front of you That’s in the left hand lane doing the speed limit. Damn it And I think it’s supposed to be for wheeling honestly that front camera that’s i’ve used it for that So but I will say even you know with the high lift jeeps, you know We have kmcb locks on the one I drive a lot named little twin and when that camera’s on all i’m really seeing is Like the interior a lot so I still use my mirrors I’m still before I get in I walk through a lap real quick just to make sure like good idea. Yeah Is there a cat behind me? I want to say small child. That’s just too much Uh, but you know, you just have to make you just have to really pay attention And I think now we just don’t pay enough attention where we want technology or ai to do it for us So oh and it will be uh, that that’s interesting whenever uh congress mandates ai For your vehicle because and it can take over it can overrule you and take over Uh, no and maybe eject itself if you’re off road and go no, this is way too scary Uh, now we’re getting there I mean even now when i’m backing up my truck to hook up my trailer There’s all these options For me to be able to go into the trailer mode But i’m backing up and it gives me the line of this pencil line to follow and to go to the hitch then above camera And side camera and i’m like I just use my mirrors and just back up and get out 10 times And then finally I would get it, but that’s okay So I can I can well imagine that somebody will come up with a color commentator Were you using the trailer hitch?
Yes Because there’s a lot of color commentary that happens and then the the crowd goes wild whenever you
Make an entertainer that the boat ranch amps need that so so thankfully there’s not a lot of uh, actual jeeps things that we would call the jeep on this list, but uh uh, the the the recall includes the uh, 21 22 dodge gerango the 21 to 23 Uh carotid pacifica This is the the one and only jeep that’s in this list jeep grand Cherokee l Uh 2022 ram 1500. Uh, oh, it is a jeep compass. That’s kind of a jeep Uh grand Cherokee wagon ear grand wagon ear Uh ram, uh post
Oh pro master. I was gonna say postmaster
I thought honestly something else yeah a prom prawn
Porn master. That’s actually what I was thinking. Finally you said it I can say it And uh The little over a million vehicles the United States and 126 000 in Canada Uh, the vehicle’s radio software may be preventing the rear Uh view images from displaying and this is kind of the danger whenever you start uh installing stereo systems that That have to do a lot of different stuff Frankly, I don’t know how you can replace the uconnect system if like an njl or jt You can of course, but the there’s so much stuff that that thing does Uh that aftermarket may or may not give you all the functions that the the the the native uconnect system does
I do have uconnect in my jk, but it’s very limited. It’s strictly just for bluetooth capability But unfortunately now I can’t even use it because the phones they upgrade too much and now the software is not compatible. So And the uconnect is no longer compatible. So I I did pay extra for that just to not be able to use it now So well, that’s that’s how they get you. Oh, that’s what they want you to upgrade to something new They do i’ve had it too long, but I won’t I refuse to get rid of her here We are well, that’ll be paid off. So yeah, that’s the thing about making modifications to a jeep and also too whenever it takes you places I especially off-road and all the modifications that have been made It’s it’s hard to let go of all that the memories and the the struggle to get it where it is It is that’s why I had my first one for so long All right, so earlier tony I did mention some epic seat covers So I think we need to talk about what’s the best seat covers for your gladiator
So seat covers are one of our first first recommendations for any new jeep A new jeep owner whether your new jt will serve as a dedicated wheeler a daily driver or a family hauler comprehensive upholstery protection is a must See covers provide just that safeguarding your jeep’s interior against spilled morning coffee, which that happens to me all the time I am that kind of person that drives with an open mug In my vehicle. Um, tony, do you ever do that? I know you have a really nice uh, do talk show Yeti I just saw you drinking out of but do you ever just do just go for it. It’s it’s definitely It’s not not definitely not a yeti. It’s a arctic Uh, so even better even better Uh, do you ever just go I just raw dog it right in that car. Just like you know what i’m gonna risk it. Here we go Yes, uh, and and actually the uh, the passenger seat has a nice big stain from ejs Uh where oh good where a uh, a coffee wasn’t closed all the way but I could have sworn it was So that’s almost worse because you think you see it falling like oh, it’s gonna be okay Then you just see it glub glub glub coming out. Um, so from Messy spilled morning coffee to messy toddlers wet dogs or anything else that life may throw your way So while your jeep’s exterior may look, uh better dry i’m sorry look better dirty and dry Uh, then clean we can’t say the same about the interior Keep your glider seats in clean like new shape for years. What they said a premium seat covers from real truck We’re offering all the top brands materials Fitments and patterns enabling you to protect and and personalized because jeepers love to personalize Do you have anything personalized on yours? I got the jeep talk show pasted all over all over the silly thing. So nice. Why wasn’t sure if it was on your seat covers So no, no, no, i’ve just got the factory factory covers Uh, and the and i’ll say this it’s really important on the quality of the seat covers you get because if it doesn’t fit Correctly and tightly it’s a real pain in the ass. Sometimes literally to get in and out of the jeep Yeah, that can be really difficult So yeah, you want to be able to personalize your jeep with nothing more than a quick slip-on installation But we want to make sure it fits right I’m sure which seat covers best suit your needs then you’re in the right place Stay tuned for our guide to the best jeep gladiator seat covers
Yep, just go to realtruck.com. Uh slash blog and just do a search for best jeep gladiator seat covers
Love it. So yeah, absolutely So, uh, have you ever had sidewall damage in the middle of nowhere? My uh, my fear would be to have sidewall damage, uh in the very seedy neighborhood in detroit I was in the middle of somewhere, right? Somewhere can be scarier than nowhere So it can be yes blue tread allows you to repair the sidewall of your off-road vehicle in just a few minutes without removing the tire From the vehicle blue tread sidewall patches are designed to be a temporary repair But can stay on for hundreds of miles. There’s a little wink wink nudge nudge there with with what they’re saying I believe uh glue tread has slashed all four tires and repaired them With just one kit on the rupicon trail blue tread’s most popular kit is just 24 Glutred’s newest kit the expedition kit is practically a spare tire in itself and comes with everything you need for sidewall damage Emergency valve stem replacement and plugging a puncture It comes with t handles and a cordilla bag both made in montana And glue tread has an affiliate program that allows you to get 10 commission plus 10 off for your community visit glue tread comm to learn more also too you can go to uh, The jeep talk show or actually use the jeep talk show code jeep talk show 10 Uh for a 10 off and of course this is for off-road use only
Love the legal indicator. My name is gladiator gladiators Are you not entertained are you not entertained is this not why you were here
Gladiator that deuter. So, um natalie. Do you have any other than the factory skids? Do you have any skid protection on your jeep? On my personal jeep. Um, I will be
But it’s just factory right now answer the damn question. It’s either a yes or no No, I guess no, this is a hostile witness
Just the factory protection and then the other stuff I can’t talk about oh interesting so
And I know you’ve heard me go on and on about the the mopar Skid system for the gladiator. Absolutely. Love it. It just gives you a great feeling knowing that all that thick metal is there protecting the under bits Of of your gladiator and all the stuff that can be, you know, tragically severed or bent or whatever
Oh gosh, so I think it was last week. Uh when we were doing the episode I spoke about not getting getting overly excited about you know Buying mods for your for your gladiator just because you picked a good one It’s like oh I was I was picked I picked a good one I think it’s like when a big hand of poker and you just have to keep going, you know while you’re hot, you know and then Lost housed family and underwear later. Uh, you know, well, you know, you you guys have been there. You know what i’m talking about. Uh, so So with that in mind, uh, i’ve been looking for additional protection by adding more skids I mean I don’t have to buy another skid system, but there’s other there’s there’s stuff underneath there Uh that still needs covering. I mean, of course you may say why in the world do you need more skids? The motorboat skid the system covers at least 85 of everything under the gladiator Um, well What about the lower control arms?
That’s that’s what I was I was just thinking that and that’s what we we hit so often like oh If you’re resting on your lower control arm, i’ve heard that a lot So I I totally get it. So where the lower control arms mount to the frame is a particular spot That can you know, you can catch a tree a rock a uh, a security guard at the mall Uh, that’s a different story. Uh, so, uh I mean and I think i’ve uh, I think i’ve found some good uh bolt on front and rear lower control arm skids Now I will mention that I have already damaged one of those little ears Uh, yeah, and I think it was from my my first trip out to uh to moab It’s not it’s not bad, but I but it took a hit you can definitely tell that it took a hit Oh, yeah, so, uh, you may be looking and that’s really the only reason why I thought about there must be a skid for this and uh, so looking into it now
Like I said 85 of the uh, the underbelly of the gladiators taking care of but what about those little spots? Uh that can get in your day Uh end your wheeling trip and hell it could even be on road. You could hit something less likely of course, but on road you could hit something so for uh Well, i’m getting a little ahead of myself. I was gonna say the price though I don’t like the price of this by the way But anyway, i’m going to tell you about it because it looks like it’s a good Uh skid system. These are bolt-on skids You just take the bolt out where the uh that holds the the lower control arm in place both front and rear And you put this uh quarter inch plate thick steel Uh and then stick the bolt through it and boom you’re done with that that corner. Yeah And uh, bolt-on is so user friendly. This is uh, Uh from uh, you know what? I don’t know that I actually put in here who it’s from I think I got a little it’s not moto belt a little ahead of myself. No, it’s not I think moto belt has some but I believe they’re weld on Um, this is uh, you’re right. This is rock hard four by four that has that has these uh, these bolt-ons And you know what? I have bought stuff from from rock hard four by four before specifically for the xj Uh, but uh just looking at these, uh looking for these today for the the story They have all kinds of stuff there That’s where my harness bar is from is it It is because I just I got a harness bar to go with my stock seats I really wanted after my flop. I really wanted harnesses and it was a great way to get started with the cage system Uh to get going on that. So yeah, I have that. I love it. Yeah now this uh, These bolt-on skids for your lower control arms are 279.95 I think I’ve seen some weld on I think i’ve seen some weld ons for like 39 for a pair So, you know like a whole whole under a hundred dollars for front and rear but They don’t they’re just not as convenient to install if you don’t know how to weld or if you don’t have a welder So, um, anyway, i’m thinking about getting getting these and i’m just kind of curious about you guys out there if you have lower control arm skids what you went with Uh, and what you think about the the rock hard four by four, uh, especially if you have these on your jeep Yeah, i would love to know yeah, so the other cool thing when I was looking around I noticed that these bolt-on skids are also available for the TJ the lj the xj the jk And of course the jail, I mean if they’ve got them for the jt they’ll have them for the jail, right? Oh, yeah, so oh and don’t make the mistake of getting them, uh for the jl getting the jail once For your gladiator because the rear lower control arm mounts are different because the the back is a you know is is different It’s it’s a truck bed and the setup is just different. So
Um, if you’ve never um never done, uh, oh, yeah. Yeah, absolutely. You’re never done with the modifications Uh, and that can be frustrating and fun at the same time exactly
It’s always fun even through the tears sometimes So i’d like to know from you the listener. What do you think good lower control arm skids are which which are the good ones Out there. Maybe you’ve heard maybe you’ve uh, purchased and used especially you’ve it’s kept you from getting damaged And they’re obviously uh, they’ve actually obviously taken an in taking an impact Uh to a rock or something and also too what about weld on versus bolt-on? Do you guys have any feelings between those two? I mean like I was saying earlier I believe the the weld ons are can be cheaper But I do like the idea of being able to remove it I can’t imagine that you would actually damage severely a quarter inch thick piece of steel, but what if you did? Uh, it would be nice to be able to to take that off and and replace it if necessary or maybe if you’re selling your vehicle You take them off and you keep the damn things because they were 279 dollars Exactly put it on the next one So what uh, what’s good system are you looking at doing to your to your jeep? Uh, or are you I I took that You were looking at doing that Um, I am looking but that’s um, so this build i’m privy to a lot of it, but not all of it. Oh, really?
Yeah, yeah. Yeah, so i’m very excited about it. Um, it’s been you know a lot of Work waiting and building my shelf so to speak as I call it. We have everyone has a shelf Um, and so but that’s one thing. I don’t know yet. Um, and i’m not allowed to ask Sorry, everybody The cats are doing weird things. That’s that’s loud
That’s loud. Yeah, i’m so sorry. That’s all right. Uh, I’m just hoping the head’s. Okay. Oh, yeah He grabbed my notebook actually and just tried to walk off with it and that did not go well Um, it’s very wild house around here. Uh, but yeah, so I mean I I I’m excited for that good system surprise. Do you do you have any kind of time frame on this? I mean, how long is the the suffering? Uh occur? Um, so it’s there right now I’m just not allowed to ask about it. I’m not allowed to ask where it is, uh to see it. Nothing. Um, really that’s interesting. Yeah Yeah It’ll be good though. I have an idea because I helped with the parts So so i’m not the only one that likes to torture employees. I think that’s great. Oh, no He is yes you and mike you you guys are going to chat at some point that interview episode’s gonna come So yeah very very cool
From the mind of nicky G
Brace yourself Hey, this is nicky g and I just caught the round table and I guess talking about a bunch of stuff But I enjoyed watching chuck and greg argue about the pagoda mile stars And I gotta tell you uh, they were both right and they were both wrong And uh coincidentally they were both in the same state of drunkenness
We like to call a trail tonic Pagoda mile stars were i’ve had them on the xj and or by far my least favorite tire They did pretty well off road, but on the pavement the pavement just chewed them up faster Uh, they didn’t do as good as the wild peaks. I had previously they didn’t do as good as the uh Nexon roadian mts. I have now and which by far are my favorite tires But that’s not why i’m calling i’m calling to tell you that I sat next to a baby for a 10-hour flight I don’t think it was possible for someone to scream for 10 hours straight
Yeah, even the baby was impressed. I pulled it off All right boys and girls i’ll chat you later and have a good one. Bye
Did there because you think it’s the baby screaming and it wasn’t it was nikki g
His jokes i’m i’m really starting to enjoy this segment. Well, well, I think you you get an idea It’s almost like building up shields, you know, it’s coming. So with the shield it makes it a little bit a little easier to Take the impact Very true. Very true. Oh my goodness. Oh god So natalie are you aware that every friday is a is an interview? I would like to say a new interview episode But as soon as I say that we’re going to run out of guests and i’m gonna have to pull one out of my back pocket Or or someplace and and put on a rerun Uh, so but uh so far every friday has been a new uh interview a new guest and you’ve actually been a guest interview I know Would you would you recommend? Uh doing an interview on the jeep talk show?
Absolutely. I mean, I love what we’re doing here, but that was one of my favorite things i’ve done with you tony it’s so much fun and Um, everyone’s so wonderful. The feedback’s been great and it’s just it’s so nice to share your experiences and um Let people really see the real you so it’s a good time so Um this coming friday we’re going to be talking actually tomorrow. Uh, we’re going to be talking with ken from Joio
And I think it’s pronounced joyo Let me let me look at the word joyo Yeah, I don’t know what I don’t know what the sound three eyes make Uh, but you can go to j. Oh
Iio.com And this is an interesting business. They will actually store Your hard top or soft top. So this is uh, Especially good for people that live in apartments or condominiums Or maybe you just don’t want to have the room to store a hard top in your in your garage at your house You can go Over to the ken’s business here and uh and get it get it stored and they will actually come to your house And take the top off put on a uh, a rental if you will Soft top or just leave you completely naked If that’s the way you want to go and uh, so it’s a great idea It allows people to use jeeps The way a lot of people look at jeeps topless. Yeah, and uh or with soft tops or depending It’s summertime. You want to get that that that uh, that that jeep hair don’t care thing and uh, yeah So this is a great opportunity and you can learn more about his business by listening to the interview Friday tomorrow, uh ken from j. Oh, Iio.com
I’ve actually never removed my hard top on the current jeep. I have because i’ve never had a place to be able to put it It’s an ordeal It is I can take the freedom panels off. I take the doors off, but I can I have nowhere to put that top So, um, I do have a soft top now. Um, can’t wait to put that on but now I gotta figure out what i’m gonna do with The hard top so so I bought um the tj for my wife Um about probably 10 or 11 years ago and I made sure that it was a used one, of course Uh, I made sure it was a hard top because she didn’t like driving in the xj because it was so loud Now oh, yeah, the xj doesn’t have a soft top Uh, but there’s a lot of things i’ve done to it that caused it to be loud like polyurethane bushings There’s a lot of operations. Yeah, yeah, it’s it’s it’s fine. It’s a thing Yeah, it’s fine with me. But and it was all it was all built for to perform off-road Uh, and uh, so she didn’t like how loud it was. So I made sure I got her a tj with a with a hard top on it so, uh Shortly after that I said well, let’s get you a soft top and then we can swap out to the hard top as necessary Well the soft top best top soft top trek top index, I believe is what we got Uh, and yeah, it’s a it’s a nice looking top Uh put that on there. It’s been on there for 12 years Oh, it’s great Yeah, so it wasn’t the the the xj was loud because of anything other than it’s just the way it’s built It was it was loud. It’s just the way it’s built So and then of course with the the nx trek top you can flip that Passenger driver back giving you that open-air experience But if you hit a rain shower or something like that You can just in a in a very short period of time generally speaking Bring it right back. You can flip it back in even if you can’t lock it into place on the sides And look at those little flaps going. Uh, it’s still productive from the rain It does. So yeah, we’ve had a lot of fun with that with that tj not an off-road vehicle I mean it’s set up for off-road, uh, but but she’s not going off-road. I mean No, you should have heard her. Uh, you’ve been to moab, right?
I have have you been to how I got my this is where I fell in love with the whole industry I went to moab and was forever changed. Have you been up or down shafer’s trail?
Not neither actually so that’s but I did I have driven project canyon successfully Yeah, so shafer’s trail, uh, we kind of got turned around I said we I got turned around We were we were trying to go to the very the very uh easy mundane Uh, oh i’m brain farting on it. It’s it’s absolutely gorgeous. It’s just a trail that goes through this canyon area Uh, and oh, okay, it’s just absolutely gorgeous and I figured, you know, this would be good for her because there’s no wild things On it. Well, we kind of got turned around didn’t didn’t take the entrance. It wasn’t properly marked So it’s not 100 my fault. And anyway, uh, we were working our way to it And uh, we had to go up shafer’s trail. I don’t know nothing about no shaver’s trail. This is this is this year This is back in march And uh, so we went up this uh, the switchback going from whatever ground level was Up about 2 000 feet So it’s a climb it’s a single it’s a it’s a single vehicle trail I mean you can squeeze by but it’s a single vehicle trail switchbacks all the way up to the top She was freaking out
Absolutely gorgeous Because you could see where you came in the long trail that you came in And you could see the canyon down there and all that it was it was wonderful And it started snowing when we were almost getting close to the top. Yeah big fat snow snowflakes and been southeast Neither one of us are used to snow So in her mind it was ice and we were going to slide off the mountain So no, it’s just snow. It’s not even sticking Uh, but uh, yeah, it was just just absolutely wonderful We finally did make it to the the canyon i’m talking about and i’ll think about it when we get done recording Uh, we finally did make it to the canyon. It was funny. There was a couple of places where like you have to go down Uh kind of a windy bit not very far Uh, and she goes she goes this would have scared me if we hadn’t done shafer’s trail already. Oh gosh You got her ready by accident, but you got her ready But that was really cool. Uh, but what time of year were you guys there? Was it like early spring so I went by myself because I couldn’t convince her to go with me in 2023 Uh, ejs i’m sorry. Okay. I’ve only been to ejs And then this this past uh, 2024 ejs, which I think was uh was like march the last week of march or something Yeah So I actually got her to go with me, uh at that time and it was a it was a real pain in the ass to try to Get her to go with me and I asked her several times while we were there after her experiencing And and if you haven’t ever been to moab utah, you can go you don’t have to go off-road I think you should but you don’t have to go off-road. It’s absolutely gorgeous. Just driving on the highway
It’s so beautiful. It’s like another planet Uh, and it is anyway asked her several times after doing several things there at at moab I said, are you glad you came? She goes. Oh, absolutely Oh, yeah, she if she would have said no I would have been so heartbroken for you. Yeah Yeah, well, she’s a she’s adventurous. She’s just a scaredy cat. Yeah I get it. I get it. Yeah moab is very special very very special to me. Yeah
Well guys, um, we have entered my favorite part of the evening I think and I think it’s me everybody else’s Um, but it’s me the must-have stuff for your jeep So tony has you know, he’s releasing that grip just a little bit more this week. So here we go so Some exciting news out of warn they are getting ready to release the warn z on xd 10s and 12s winch So this winch is One of their most highly developed Um that they in high performing winches Um, it does come with the price tag to prove it but all worth it Let me tell you so with just with with that new develop system for high efficiency Um the motor and the gear chain delivers the most blazing fast No load line speeds up to 40 foot per minute the fastest in its class because we don’t have time to wait No one has time to wait. Nobody Nobody Nobody, um, and it is built to oem grade standards with a full warranty, which is even better So kind of a little plug tony, but high lift off-road in cincinnati, ohio We are a worn service center. So we are certified by warm. We will service all of your worn winches including this big guy Um, so it’s pretty exciting. Do you have a worn winch tony? I do Which one do you have? I think it’s we were talking about this earlier. I think it is the zion 10 Uh, I don’t think there’s any other things there with it. Of course, it’s the the manly model the one that has the cable Not the synthetic yours is the manly model. That’s right. Your cable guy I had the same but only with the synthetic and of course that factor 55 ultra hook on the front 55 have some wonderful stuff another part of war They are they are it’s a it’s a match made in heaven for sure Um, I think what else is really special about this winch? Um, it is they’ve upgraded the waterproof capability So now the new construction with the new o-rings and rubber ceilings. It’s really made this whole winch Highly rated for going under the water I know i’ve Gone under pretty deep to the point where it’s coming through the doors before so I know my winch was under the water Um as well as that high pressure spray from when we have to clean it So they’ve really gone through and made sure this construction is really the top of the line high functioning Um to make sure that we don’t have those problems even though we want to service them But we don’t want to service them all the time. So Something pretty exciting that highlips is going to offer tonight guys for the next few days So from june 27 to july 7th highlift off-road is going to offer a 200 instant gift card at checkout on your new worn zion xd 10s or 12s winch just enter the code hl Jts worn so hl Jts Warn at highlift off-road Com I think tony is going to put the website on the bottom of the screen But like I said that you will get an instant 200 Gift card at checkout from june 27 to july 7th on behalf of highlift off-road and worn So that is about you’ll be you guys will be listening to this episode.
