Chrysler recalls over 200k Jeep, and Dodge vehicles over antilock-brake system
Chrysler is issuing a recall of 2018-2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango vehicles due to a potential antilock-brake system malfunction.
The recall, which was reported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on Nov. 7, states that 206,502 vehicles may be affected.
The recall pertains to 2018-2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2018-2019 Dodge Durango vehicles. If the antilock brake system malfunctions, brake lights may illuminate incorrectly, and the antilock brake system and electronic stability control may become disabled. Additionally, a driver may be able to start and shift out of the park without the brake pedal being applied.
Chrysler is unaware of any related accidents or injuries and braking capability is unaffected in recalled vehicles, according to a statement provided by Stellantis, the automobile company that owns Chrysler.
The potential malfunction was discovered during a routine company review of warranty data, which led to an internal investigation, the statement added.
I can’t afford a Jeep Wrangler or Gladiator that has all the bells and whistles, can I take a less expensive Wrangler or Gladiator off-road?
One of the most “I’m a Jeeper” things you can do is have bigger tires installed on your Jeep. A common question is what is the biggest tire I can put on my Jeep?
Jeep Talk Show Gladiator Update
My first Gladiator modification was rock sliders
Two reasons. The Gladiator Sport S looks like crap, unfinished without something covering the pinch seam. The second is I damaged my XJ rockers (the part of the side that is below the doors) taking it off the road before installing rock sliders.
The fabfours tube rock sliders were relatively cheap and looked good.
They are also great for people who don’t care about hitting your Jeep when they open their car door.
I didn’t have any aftermarket sources for the Gladiator so I did some research and bought these sliders. In retrospect, I would have gone with the Motobilt rock sliders.
These sliders have done their job at Hidden Falls and Moab, but I will probably replace them with Moto’s at some point in the future.
